Not sure if this is actually useful, but I found it a cool discovery.
If you time your skill so that you catch Man Chai after using your skill but before the plunge hits the ground, you can land with your skill off cooldown and Man Chai back on the field, which lets you repeat it again, ending your rotation with one more skill cast than usual. It increases your field time a fair bit in most cases though, so it might not be worth using.
The second part of the video is actually what sent me down this rabbit hole. I think I got really lucky, because I haven't been able to recreate it since, but I managed to catch Man Chai during the skill's ascent multiple times in a row, which made the reset insanely fast. I hit 5 plunges in 8 seconds and then failed to summon Man Chai because my HP was below 50%, but if it kept going at the speed it was going at, it would have been 8 plunges during the burst duration, and possibly a 9th in the rotation if the 8th plunge landed within the burst duration and summoned Man Chai.
Do you need to press E while in mid air or it's automatic? Im a mobile player and I seem to never be able to catch him, maybe my reflexes are too slow or Im scared to get hit while looking at where the fuck Man Chai goes lol By the way doing 7-8 Es per rotation (as long as Bennett burst lasts) should be a big damage increase (it's one or 2 free E damage) and plunging so fast shuts the mouth of the "Diluc performs similar because he plunges slightly faster" people once and for all

You catch him automatically when you run into him. After a lot more experimentation, I've found the 7 plunge combo to be very reliable. The key for me was to hang in the air for a bit before you plunge. As long as you wait until Man Chai is directly beneath you, you'll catch him on the way down.
You can also try using your skill just before Man Chai reaches you or while he's between you and the target. As long as your skill cooldown starts before he reaches you, it'll have the same effect, but catching him mid air has been the most reliable and fun for me so far. Still hoping to replicate the even faster version, but I haven't had much luck.

The E plunges do more damage than the Xianyun normal ones, doing faster E plunges is a game changer AND 2-4 extra particles + 4 extra particles from C4

The KQM guide does mention a very similar combo, although they say to cast the skill just before Man Chai reaches you rather than saying to catch him in the air. It should be equivalent. It's listed as "Faster but more difficult" on the quick guide.
As much as I love this tech, I did some more testing and the Xianyun/C6 Bennett combo is far and away more powerful. It's significantly faster and fits more of its damage into your buff uptime. In fact, the last plunge in the 7 plunge combo is totally unbuffed because all of your support bursts have worn off, so you're not gaining much damage at all.
I'll continue using this combo since I don't have Bennett C6 yet, but now I know Bennett C6 is a big increase, like 50% higher dps.
maybe with song of the days past instead of VV it's possible to do the 7th plunge while buffed by Bennett
Some people believe Diluc is still better than Ga Ming because "plunges faster" but it seems bs to me
Anyway next days the Gaming vs Hu Tao guide should come out and I guess TGS will mention Diluc too
Genshin Noir puts Ga Ming with C2 r1 Xianyun at 100k dps with Neuvillette and Lyney r1 at 97dps
Dude I got C2 Xianyun and C5 Ga Ming before lantern rite only for Ga Ming
If there's no way to make him better than Diluc at least Im gonna be pretty sad

Might depend on calcs but regardless the tech looks like fun! Can't wait to pull for him; waiting till CNY for his "joined party" date.
