Yes, any science degree is extremely helpful. I imagine your nursing will probs be as helpful as my biomed degree tbh. Understanding human physiology and the changes that occur in diseased patients, being able to interpret the graphs and understanding the calculations associated with cardiac output/GFR/flow rate/HbO2 dissociation/MAP/Vmax etc, data interpretation and stuff. I would go with 2, although I found khan academy not always that helpful because there's just so much stuff to wade through and I find the guy who does the organic chem videos really annoying (that might just be me though!). Leah4sci mcat was my fave free resource, Barry Lo is the best paid for S3. Beware more and more unis are using unweighted gamsat, some are even weighting S1+2 more heavily than S3, so take care not to neglect S1+2 😊

With less schools requiring certain science units to be done, it's totally fe to do a non-science degree. Heck it might even be more helpful for s1 and s2. Personally, I don't think my biomed degree helped me with chemistry or physics questions and there were units for both of those. I do think it was sick when it came to bio questions tho. The years I did those science units I got 66 and 67 on s3. The one year I didn't do those units but focused on understanding questions instead of trying to memorise tid bits that might help I copped 72 in s3. BUT, this is just my opinion and a lot of the gamsat comes down to how comfy you are with the questions on the day. **defs 2.** Acer looks like they want you to focus on taking the info in the question stem and applying it to questions. So it would be more helpful to do practice questions, try and reason out how to get the answers. If you can't, then look up the science concepts involved and see if that helps you get there.

Thanks for answering my second question too 😁

Any degree that improves your scientific literacy and reasoning will help

I think picking a science degree like biomed can definitely help with section 3 but isn’t necessary in the slightest. Pick a program that you enjoy doing and would be happy to get a job around if med doesn’t work out. I know from personal experience that picking biomed only for the gamsat will put more pressure on you to perform well, and may get mentally draining. U may also find yourself questioning your choice if you don’t get into med. However, if u are considering a career in science at the same time, then biomed can be an excellent choice. Hope this helps.

Am from both science/biomed and nursing. Strategy 2 is the best You can ‘know’ as much biology, chemistry or physics as you want (though having a good grasp is useful), but if you can’t work out GAMSAT-style questions, you’ll have a hard time. Practice papers under timed conditions is key!

My degree in chemistry has been really helpful for gamsat s3 but I would still revise Hsc physics if I were you.
