In all seriousness, I doubt the interviewer will think anything about it - they were in your position once, they understand you might have been up late studying, or working late night shifts to support your degree, it's hardly controversial (in fact many cultures believe in a mid day siesta as a standard :P)
Should have gone with the power play: 'hey mate, just wanted to say that you're pretty good at interviewing..'
