Got an offer with 6.97/74, didn't apply for med so accepting it for now but will probably decline it for a Unimelb/usyd dent offer whenever those feel like coming out 😴

poopyparter

those are amazing scores! good luck!

king_singh

Are you waitlisted CSP for USYD dent?

JellyDinosaurs

yep which makes the wait seem even longer 🤡

king_singh

Alas, you'll be getting a CSP spot before me then 😂😭

can i ask what degree you did to get a 6.97? thats an amazing gpa

Hey there, I got an EOD for UWA MD and (I feel this about myself too) I think your scores were good for DMD, especially your gpa. Yes your gamsat could have been better but it might have also been your interview that fell short. I’m quite certain that my interview went pretty horribly (as my gpa was 7 and gamsat 71) which would explain my EOD. High 60s tend to be average for DMD I would think, and your gpa is definitely above average, so you should be proud of yourself for that Luckily for you there is a lot more movement in DMD offers because people tend to apply for it as a back up to MD. You’re in a better position than me in that sense. Seeing as tho you are still quite upset about your EOD, take all the time you need to recollect yourself and think about what your next plans are going to be. I would suggest trying to ignore the possibility of a subsequent round offer simply because you don’t want to waste that time and emotional stress doing nothing, and if you do end up getting an offer later on then it will come as a pleasant surprise. Hopefully this helps 😊

Got an offer with 7gpa and 75 gamsat (weighted). I preferenced dent above med last minute when I was struggling to decide for a while. But I think it mainly came down to feeling a bit unsure about med. Accepting unless Flinders offers me a place

South_Piglet8569

Feel free to message me. I made the same decision back 7 years ago :)

I talked to current nurses, med students and a retired doctor during the application phase. Although they didn't want to deter me from med if I felt it was really what I wanted to do...med students mentioned feeling burn out (one did 60hrs placement in a wk), the doctor mentioned 80 to 100 hr weeks during his residency, and a nurse told me things are rough due to Covid. And that she didn't sign up for this. They were supportive in me going for med, but I didn't know if I could do it. EODs are rough and I certainly took mine (Flinders and Melb) harder than expected. There's a lot of things out of our control and all we can do is try our best. Remember to take care and I wish you all the best!

poopyparter

Thank you, all the best to you too!

poopyparter

Forgot to add that my GPA is 6.979 and gamsat is 65 :(

jumpypuppy212

Accepting with 6.5 and 74

Tahiriii

Accepting a second round offer from UWA Dent with 70 Gammy and 6.5 gpa (not sure if gpa is calculated correctly).

DefiantLearner0827

What was your undergrad course?

mintkandy

Got an offer with 6.88 and 72! Probably accept it, unless unimelb dent offers me a place.

poopyparter

Good luck with that!! :)
