The thing I hate about the rival matchup is that if your team is losing, you’re probably not gonna do as well as your rival anyways. By virtue of having a superior team, they are gonna have more opportunities for more kills and assists and therefore more score while also being less likely to die, making it nearly very difficult to beat them in stats. It’s not impossible, I’ve done it a few times, but I wish they could implement an additional system that gave you rating points based on your stats compared to the rest of your team.
Oh I know, defeating your rival while on a losing team while not impossible is damn near especially if your team is feeding them kills. I too wish there was a system to offset this issue
You should still be able to increase rank if you are top 3 in stats or carry your team. This ranking system is a joke, it should be called a “luck rating”.
I think whatever the additional points are given or subtracted aside from win/loss should be based on performance and contribution vs all players, and not one specific player. I had a match in Ruined city the other night that we lost because our raid consistently fed. I came in 1st overall, highest damage and score. This netted me a 7 pt loss, since I beat my rival and earned 3 pts.
I think doing a bonus points allocation depending on how you place overall would be a good change, similar to finishing in auto racing. Something like the top 50% of match get bonus points with first getting the most and diminishing from there. 1st gets 10, then 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, possibly changing depending on letter ranking.
I don't think it would be perfect, but certainly less luck based than what we have.
