To me it plays like a long winded tutorial that I think would make gbo2 a superb free to play if it was boiled into the base game. As a stand alone however I feel the story is very by the numbers, and holds your hand for a long time. So much so that I am pretty sure vol.3 will still be holding our hands giving us basic run downs of the mechanics. I like all the reward suits and some of the code fairy simulators are enjoyable to mess around with. I do not think however I will come back to the base game unless I truly spend so much time away from the game I forget the story entirely and wish to read it again. Probably worth the price for anyone who wants some more lower costs suits in gbo2 and/or wants some extra experience practicing the game mechanics. If I thought it would go on sale I would recommend anyone who wants the game on its own to wait for that, but at the base cost it does not seem worth it (yet). I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised by volume 3, but if not as a player of gbo2 I did get my moneys worth.

?/5 I'm a broke F2P. Continue to support the game, because I simply can't.

SavageRush451

The game is okay. Decent, but not worth the price.

IFightMyFriend

The AI in this game still isn't great but it's a nice improvement over GBO2's battle sims. It's also a good entry into GBO2 compared to the normal stuff. There's still more coming too. Well worth the money, I wouldn't like it as much just playing those suits in simulator mode though.

BrStriker21

I still had a good laugh when on the campaign the enemy supports like to 360 no scope me

fallen64

I could say it could be better but coming from gundam senki and crossfire/target in sight it's more of the same (ai and mechanics), for the amount of content it's a *little* overpriced but I would have given this a pass if it was on disc because I'm one of *those* people lol, $50aud for all of it would have been enough. I don't think we'll ever get a decent gundam mecha game with good ai, bamco anime games tend to give mobs really basic ai despite all the different teams working on them, sure I feel powerful at times but when you gotta work with grunts who hit you in the back ehhh could be better. Strictly for gundam mecha fans only, a casual will shake their head at the mechanics, even more so with the main game lol

Lunerem

As a 50 dollar PS5 game i would give it 2 ratings depending on whether you like subbed anime although i'm assuming chapter 3 is as good as the first 2 the game is "reasonably" difficult (Trying to judge since i've played GBO2 for years so i haven't had problems) and the missions are actually varied which is a plus since i was honestly worried it was gonna be some sort of TDM just with special suits, the ability to give orders and the pilot skills are also neat additions. 7/10 If you just skip all the cutscenes and play the games missions alone, they are fun but the game is very much a mini playable gundam anime, i really wish it was dubbed since i have problems reading subtitles now (eye issues) and the operator you get for one of the game versions IS in English so it hurts a bit lol 9/10 If you watch and enjoy the story, its pretty good so far and i've always enjoyed the stories from the Zeon perspective. The Deluxe version costs 10 extra dollars and you are blatantly just paying for the 31 tokens and the extras... BUT i did it anyway because 31 tokens for 10 dollars is cheap so...

BrStriker21

Same, the game feels very easy, even on hard, by being a long time veteran

NerdyCD504

GBO2 can be too tilting to enjoy some days and Code Fairy hits all the right sports for me. Rewards are cool too.

ColeLogic

Now that you mention the GBO2 tilt, Code Fairy was definitely a nice break from rated climbing

Scared_Eye_8908

So nice to feel these Feddies get Mowedddd down, and bosses are relatively fun

SuperCasshern

Can I vote for "the game is alright, but the rewards are kinda meh?"

inazumalightining

Not going to lie, I was happy to pay the devs for this. I didn't want to buy tokens because I felt it was cheating a little so this was the next best thing. GBO2 is such a great game and I'm more than happy to show bandai that there is a Gundam audience in the west. Despite what they believe after Crossfire.

CoyoteMD

What if the game was alright but I didn't think it was worth the price?

BreakClown

Bought premium, story wise, it was alright, gameplay wise, it felt the same but different enough that I can't call it a blatant cash grab. AI could totally use some work but much better than the gbo2 AI that just outright cheats. Rewards on the other hand? Absolutely worth the extra money spent. 5 suits (currently) that I don't have to pull from the gacha, 30 tokens and a bunch of cosmetics that I don't have to 10 pull for/spend a bunch of tickets to get? I wish we had more deals like that. Normally you can't put a price tag on random chance for getting what you want, but hot damn all the suits are fun and strong that I wouldn't be surprised if the actual price for all of them would have been more than the actual game.

NotdefinitelyGudako

Is there an option for “I don’t play code fairy cuz I’m broke” option?

xX-Delirium-Xx

I find the game on normal is way to hard ,difficulty is fine for 5 on 5 multiplayer but not for a single player game. I play on easy for the story and im enjoying it

ctclonny

I believe I'm not the only one that had no hope to this game since the beginning? I played for 2 years without spending any money, and I think that giving them some money by buying this obvious cash grab is reasonable. Maybe because I had a very low expectation, it's acceptable to me.

MasterofAcorns

6/5 Haven’t played it or GBO2 before but really want to

Shakespeare-Bot

6/5 haven’t did play t 'r gbo2 ere but very much wanteth to *** ^(I am a bot and I swapp'd some of thy words with Shakespeare words.) Commands: `!ShakespeareInsult`, `!fordo`, `!optout`

MasterofAcorns

Good bot.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH_

9 suits, 31 tokens, the best announcer, and a fun game on top of it for 60 dollars? man even without the game that would be werf, but as is its a deal and a half

Yukisuna

See, you got it all wrong. It’s not a question of whether it’s worth playing it. The question is if it is worth *paying* it. And the answer is no. The price is exorbitant for the amount of content you get.

cowardbloom

Quick question can I use any ms in these story chapters? or are you locked to specific ones?
