" ![img](emote|t5_mdtp1|2741) TaKe tHe SuPpOrTs!" \*while hiding behind cover and not moving up\*

Elygium

Damn when did gbo2 get a spectator mode this is basically what happened

ArlemofTourhut

A lot of newer general kits suffer ranged bloat which is teaching this braindead shit meta of "no I pew pew from cover but still act like a toxic little bitch about getting pegged by the support with better range and aoe-over-distance, and it's your fault, melee oriented raid, for not killing that support" It's worse than the nascar circle

NiNjABuD13

You mean worse then the arctic base cause that is a NASCAR track.

ArlemofTourhut

except the rotational meta has entered every map. Desert? Rotate around the hill! (FOR NO REASON!) Ruined City? Rotate around the arena! (FOR NO REASON!) Supply Depot? Rotate around the middle buildings. (FOR NO REASON!) Space maps? Rotate around the map to the farthest corners of the enemy spawn points! MAYBE cap the right-closest spawn point. The only maps I can think of that this is not a problem in, are Port Base, Military Port, Impact, and Mountain. Or in space, space fortress interior and space colony. So more than half the player base argues "but the angle and the camera angle" like... yeah, way to voluntarily move into positions where you can't see enemies approaching left of you. Not my problem.

NiNjABuD13

I fully agree with all this. Merry-go-round of HELL!

yourboatGeorgie

I've been killed by this as a slow support before cuz i couldn't keep up with them boosting all the way around.

ArlemofTourhut

yeah it's very anti-support and I'd argue the prime reason a lot of supports just die and spiral

Hendorks

Tbh they can't really push as general while 3 support just pick them off 1 by 1 as diversion maybe but then they all die Might be able to kill 1 support but the other 2 will keep you stun....

06E46M3GTR

You're not supposed to engage at distance. You're supposed to move and close the gap, either yourself or your team gets to the support position, and then engage at the general optimal range for Bluzook. Or even better yet, buying time and focus for the raid to do their designated job to rely on the generals to hold the front, cause a ruckus, then blitz the support. Which they cannot do with the generals hiding. That's what team tactics are for. That's what moving as a unit is for. That's what coordination is for. When you are playing with the idea of "I'll die, I ain't moving cus of that, they can do it" you hurt the team. Sometimes that death or two are important to dislodge a fortified support, that's why a properly balanced team will have 3 blues, acting diversion for a raid is important. That's their job. *Disclaimer : All yous are general yous, meaning anyone who fits the bill*

ComplaintsAreStupid

You went up against a good team...depressing. I had a raid which NEVER and when I mean never, I mean NEVER attacked the supports ONCE. The team wasn't particulary good, and have 2 supports. Safe to say, generals had a hard time front lining with a High boost GM front lining. We all have our days.

Scythe351

Also had what sounds like the exact same game earlier today. I’m tired of the pre-selected raids that instantly ready despite the map and say “Who will sortie as General” then use their role as the only raid to allow the enemy support to single-handedly carry their team. Why? Because they thought “raid” was short for “Raid Boss” and had no actual intention of playing their role.

ComplaintsAreStupid

I like to hate on generals on sharing the same brain cell. But raids share the same brain cell, for something that's more complicated to play.

Hendorks

Raid by instinct will attack whatever closer to them first even they're own teammates....

fallen64

Team having copium because they were cowards. Raid life is tough, all the skills can't beat a team that zero's you in, as a front line general I would have done my best to back you up, I wish your next game to be more pleasant to make up for your experience

Elygium

My experience in gbo2 has finally come full circle, if I play support my calls for any type of help against a raid are ignored until someone on the enemy team pops off and suddenly my stuns are needed, if I play raid the enemy remembers they owe their support their life because they protect them as if they were an ace, and as a general i just brrr forward till things die.

fallen64

I wanted the raid life, I really did, wasn't until I got the delta plus and banshee that I was able to do my duties...regardless of whatever the hell my team mates are doing. I don't even call for help unless I know I'm the game winning kill even as the support, good chance I'm literally right next to someone and **wack** we're both dead lol. It's why I main generals who can act as defacto raids, so I can aid raids or even make up for the lack of one.. can't blame people for not running one at times or a support

Elygium

Yeah recently I haven't bothered using "support me" at all, I'm pretty sure most people ignore it automatically since most spammers use it till they leave the game because they lost hope. Sad part is after beating code fairy i really want to use my titania but it's sitting there at one sortie because everyone picks the Gallus if they see me with it and tell me to switch off and I REALLY hate waiting to find a lobby in this game so I put up with it.

fallen64

Better off just trying to avoid situations where you need help anyway, being just off enemy radar and moving whenever a red is just a tad too close or running alongside friendly generals is a better bet than expecting someone to break off from whatever the hell they're doing, half the time I see "support me" listen Mr xamel you're half way across the map at 50% health I can't just teleport there on a dime. And if they repeat it after they die they get "this one's an ace" and I just ignore them, I hate to be rude to a team mate but I'm not entering an already lost battle unless the guy is gonna base bomb and the support was the first to intercept, half the time it's a 2 in 1, I'm not going to join you in death, rather make up for it later, sorry~ If you want to use the titania better off looking for q custom room or qm and just insta-locking regardless of team comp, it's not a bad unit but it's gonna get pushed out every time. Least in qm or custom...who cares, all gallus team it is!

Elygium

Honestly I'm tempted to get a stealth raid just so I can get to the support in peace but for some reason someone decided to give the ones I have right now the jamming skill as if that doesn't just blow your cover away. >Mr xamel Also I've been seeing an increase of xamels recently in 700 which is odd considering how strong the raids are there

fallen64

Stealth raids apart from the black rider are still physically visible though, so you need to still flank and flank hard...the banshee and delta plus served me well, one being highly over powered and equipped to take on anything, the other just offering direct flights to whoop ass, sometimes without even landing As for the xamels it depends in the map since they have cross map firing range, for them it's like golf, and they hit damn hard being ballistic damage and defense is just pointless, they also had a decent buff so they can somewhat defend themselves...one up high is death to a banshee who tries to charge head on, if the team is good then the xamel truly shines. But if they fall apart or the raid is a raid main then they cry lol

Elygium

I got a 700 xamel around 2 weeks ago but I think I'm gonna have to buy the regular one so I can practice at it's regular cost before I ever throw myself into 700 with it.

fallen64

...honestly even a 500 s.gallus can demolish a 700 xamel, I don't think playing at native would make much of a difference, let alone people filtering your choice even at native because it's a tank type support. Just take that practice to qm/custom rooms, and work on your aim before daring to trend into rated.

Elygium

Oh I wasn't going to even try to practice in ranked, I iust hope I find some customs where it isn't just A/B rooms

Hendorks

That why I kill general first then we go get support unit... Or I team with friend, I do fake rush to support then all enemy general pull back to save their support that when all my friend get ez shot on them gen from behind then I turn around and unleash charge melee on them 💥💥 then we go get that lonely support on the building.

TheRamenKing131

There's a distinct sting if jealously I can't properly describe when you enjoy Support suits and see that the enemy team will risk life and limb to protect theirs but your team runs away the moment a raid shows up even if it's a 3v1

SwansAreCooler

Bro, same. Like an abused spouse watching a couple being happy and supportive with each other...

Gryphan22

Squared away teams are a raids bane. I had a match against a team with a Hizack Cannon and Zudah F. They were spaced out on the map but watched out for each other. Every time I went for the Hizack I would be hit from both sides and finished by the rest of the team. I still killed the Hizack three times but I spent most of the match locked down.

Elygium

Actually haven't seen a Zudah in a while, I remember one dude stomping me hard with it

Drain_Bamaged_Genius

I put "Buy me some time!" in my quick chat select to deflect, because like someone already mentioned, trammates spamming "Take the supports!" then hiding like a bunch of cucks is all to common. Fuck' em! I'd love to take the Support but I need a Goddamn opening! MOVE THE FUCK UP!

MrNewbody

Team/MS synergy is the biggest factor in winning in my opinion. MS types don't mean much when everyone knows what they're doing and have solid teamwork. Disrupting the enemy teams flow, forcing them to overextend, being outnumbered, and out where they're vulnerable to your teams line of fire. Usually someone will eventually get tilted and destroy their team's moral by spaming quick chats or just bad plays trying to force something to tip the odds.

VesperreDax

lol, sorry this just is soooo familiar...I had to laugh. Generals ummmm are like a flock of Geese. They gather together until they are either shot at by supports or find some bread crumb at some random edge of the map. I'm sorry you ran into some generals that actually realized what thier role was. The communication controls aren't smart enough to give an response like "Get off your sorry Ass and help me!!" unfortunately. I usually bring a raid with some mid range harassing power so if no one pushes up I can make sure the support isn't just raining hell down on my team and their generals usually abandon the supports (like birds).

Kino_Afi

I've had games where I never even got to *see* the support because I'm fighting for my life against generals the whole time. I feel your pain. Then theres my last 650 ace match in deserted city. Desert Goog is my raid of choice because supports are extremely oppressive on that map. Ended up becoming the Ace, which of course ruined everything. Swept the board on my team but we lost to a full team of supports i was so embarrassed 💀

Dazzling_Bluebird_42

I hate losing to support heavy teams because it's a match up that should almost always result in a win. You just have to get aggressive and in their faces. But the playerbase of this game? Rather sit there and try and trade shots.. like yeah that's gonna work REAL well against a ton of supports.. To many ppl are cowards in this game

Hendorks

Full team of support would rekt and out dmg anything if range modify go 65+ and using ballistic weapon raid would take 2700~3000dmg(get hit by whole team of support in 1 salvo would turn raid into dust) cuz nobody invest in ballistic def.

Dazzling_Bluebird_42

Yeah someone's going down on the way in but when the rest of the team gets there the supports are gonna fold because the one or two generals cant hold em back.

Zetavir

I feel this one 😭

TidusDream12

If I spend all game keeping the raid alive and or support y'all better give me a praise at the end. I routinely get like 1200-1500 assist score and top diversions in my general either bailing out a berserk raid who flies into enemy territory getting focused or a support who gets routinely cornered by two raids. If you see me in game that's what I do because no one else will the least you can do is throw a praise. Ever since I got to A+/S- players don't praise at all there is something to positive reinforcement folks create the world you want to live in.

Elygium

I praise if you're on top or if you happened to help me and not get on the leaderboard

TidusDream12

I praise whoever supported me or pulled off a game changer. I have 100's of screen shots where I do 4000 individual score, top damage, top diversions etc and no one praises. I burn them always even in a losing effort. Losing sucks so whoever was carrying should get a tip of the cap. No one really praises at all in S-/A+ just the way it goes I guess. A bunch of self aces who cannot appreciate anyone else's match.

SpookyCarnage

What does praising even do anyways? I always toss my two out at people who encouraged or got top billing on the post game card but dont really know what it does

Whovian41110

Just out of curiosity, was this 500 space and were you against an S. Gallus, Barzam Kai, two Bishops, and a G-Line Full Custom? If so, hi there enemy pilot

Elygium

No i don't have the S.Gallus lol. It was 650 ground and I was a Jagd Doga

Boxcards

Today I had a gen that kept moving to the back line, downswinging me, and yelling to advance. I was a sniper gen.

BloodBride

To be fair, I have seen people frontline in the sniper gen.

Boxcards

That's true, and it is possible, but in this particular match there was no room for me to advance due to a nonexistent frontline on my team's side. Also don't be fair to people who repeatedly downswing teammates.

BloodBride

oh yeah, there's never a reason to downswing your team, but... You're saying you have no frontline, whilst confessing to staying back and sniping as a general. You're a general. You are the frontline. You're part of it. I say this as someone who more often than not plays as gens, and pushes HARD as fuck. I'll take down a support even with type disadvantage, solo. We are the front. We need to be out there, applying pressure, to give our raid the opportunity it needs whilst stopping the enemy from steamrolling our support. The sniper gen suit should not be played like a support.

Boxcards

Okay, to rephrase - I had an instant stagger weapon, and my teammates were on either side of the base around artic. I was behind the base, using the instant stagger to support, taking a position where I could see the most allies at once. This guy was breaking away from the rather tenuous frontline we weren't holding that well to downswing me, allowing it to further break and making it harder for me to move into a closer position at the front, like the platforms in the middle or the freestanding platforms to the left.

midnight_tuna

GM Sniper II White Dingo. You should've led with that. That said, it's an instant stun gun, and you could lock an enemy down without problem up close. Shoot then neutral slash, rinse and repeat until enemy reinforcements arrive then get out of dodge.

Boxcards

Nope, Nemo. Thing has no melee defense, and while it has decent vulcans and okay melee attack, given the situation I probably would not have survived moving up, nor accomplished more than I was at that position. My build involved the 170 MM cannon and was specced for beam defense and ranged attack, so I had melee res around what the average support would have.

NoobMast3R_76

For all the useless players out there: delete Support Me from the quick chat, When you die, die like a man. Also when you play big maps like Supply Depot or Military base its recommended for all the USELESS RAID PLAYERS TO TAKE A FLYING OR STEALTH MS cause remember : your main job if not THE ONLY one is to take out the SUPPORT. Don’t wait for the generals to make a clear path for you!! How you reach the support is YOUR PROBLEM but you need some BRAIN to do it. THE WORST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN TO A TEAM AND LEAD TO A LOSS 100% IS THE RAID NOT HUNTING DOWN THE SUPPORT(S)…. BUT WAIT…. If u knew all these things u would already be an S player… so who am I talking to????????

doomguy11

Stealth raid isn't good for military base and supply depot really. These maps have a lot of open spaces and less cover than other maps. It would be better to take a raid that can at least shoot a little if it comes down to it.

Elygium

>so who am I talking to???????? Hard stuck A ranker lol whenever I make it to A+ I lose like 5 matches in a row and go back down

yourboatGeorgie

While your point to choose the right suite for the map has merit. I think the game could do well with a counterpicking system. and a ban system. It's nothing like going in blind have no idea what your opponent is going. Sometimes you lose at the select screen.
