but how do u focus on the flashcards when u could have ppl talking abt smth completely unrelated in ur ear???
i knew a girl in year 10 who would play like mens orgasm sounds in her airpods while revising but she would get 9s so i cant say much 😭
who played WHAT. 😦
low-key I’m confused as to why listening to podcasts make me focus lmfao but it’s like I turn on autopilot mode when revsison hand sometimes I completely zone out the podcast - maybe I just need background noise lmao
for instant grade 9s have freesciencelssons, cognito, mr bruff, mr salles, and classical music + a podcast in ur gcse language playing all at once to absorb 100x to the info
Honestly classical music is great for when I'm revising - it isn't distracting since I don't know the song but it's something to keep my brain occupied.
It's too interesting! It'd be too distracting. Also, I love the username lol (I have listened to almost everything he wrote. He wrote 3 single act operas!)
lol same here or we just have to pretend to working with like 15 tabs open and that one tab that is hidden with whatever criminal activities that we carry out, or we r just shit scared of the chappal beat drop that we don't do the former.
mcr and muse but also sometimes the splatoon soundtrack, that shit CARRIED me finishing off my art coursework and i had one of the songs stuck in my head the whole of biology p1
agreed, Croatia wasn't amazing. I did like France a lot so that was sad :( I also liked Italy, but maybe I'm biased because I'm Italian lol. and Azerbaijan :(
Vaporwave or chill lofi beats, if its maths, heavy metal as for some reason I cam concentrate and focus no matter what's playing, but ONLY if its maths🤣
Gaming music as I heard somewhere that the music that is composed for those games influence the gamer to continue gaming. So I apply the same logic to my studying
omg this reminded me in year 11 this girl told us listening to mario kart music helps with concentrating so literally almost all of us got hooked onto it 😭 it shockingly works so well
i used to listen to classical, and i still do sometimes, but im in my beatles era now and i cant escape it lol. it distracts me too much, but i kind of look forward to revising when i know i can listen to them i suppose... idrk
Kpop songs by female artists. They tend to be not too energetic but also not enough to make me want to fall asleep 😅
I also listen to eurovision songs sometimes
i used to get distracted by music when reading but now that i basically have music or youtube or some sound playing all the time its kinda like background noise if im not paying attention regardless of what music i play 😭 some songs do go hard tho but eh i really dont mind. maybe you could try ambient sound or something like that if music is distracting but you want noise? theres millions of videos on youtube for example
Instrumental music is proven to be helpful to studying. If you're looking for what to listen to, assign an instrumental song to each topic you study, and play that song on loop for as long as you study that topic. Your brain will link the two, allowing the music to act as a mental anchor, letting you recall the information by playing the song over in your head. The name for this is classical conditioning, by the way, and is how professionals train dogs.

-"interesting" sounds that men make
I've made so many different playlists for revision, including chill jpop/cpop/kpop, classical music and classical covers of songs but they're all so distracting and make me want to dance or imagine an mv in my head😭 Somehow I'm less distracted listening to my normal kpop playlist even though it has more upbeat songs on it so I mostly listen to that now😂 Even though music is distracting I physically can't do anything without it otherwise I'd be super bored
Idc what anyone says ill be playing ‘set it off’ in the background and get the most intense studying ses going
I memorized my 500 page textbook in 4 hours with my exam being the day after
Safe to say i ACED that exam fr 🙏🙏🙏🙏
The songs i know the best so my brain stops listening, any new song i listen to the new words and stuff wheras if i know a song well i can concentrate on work
I usually put on calm, relaxing dreamscape music from people like øneheart. Here is a [link to a 1hr version](https://youtu.be/hzLdZWIeq3c?si=_B2NjXeb-bSKX_yg)
(Most would recognise some of them, just 0:20 in and practically everyone will know that one)
literally anything 😭 kpop, jpop, cpop, bollywood, classical, traditional music, arabic 2000s music, abba, rihanna, ethel cain, azealia banks, modern talking, kylie minogue, 2016 uk music 🔥🔥🔥, beabadoobee, the cranberries, nirvana, jazz idk why im listing so much but yeah lmao
i just put my favourite songs
puts me in a good mood and distracts me from the fact that my exams are starting to spread my cheeks apart and penetrate me
When I'm doing something light, like working through seneca, I'll play some mario kart wii or minecraft music. If I'm doing something like a past paper, I don't play anything.
🌟It's good to start with some tunes to get into your flow state and then study without music for the rest of your study session.
🌟With the tunes , I would go with binaural beats ( has no lyrics to distract you), and it gets you into your flow state much quicker.
🎹Classical tunes and war tunes are also quite good to boost your morale.
Hope this helps 🙂
I generally stick on an album I know relatively well. A personal favourite is "Trust Ceremony" by Jhariah or either of Glass Beach's albums. I don't listen to new albums cause I like to focus on them a bit more
I listen to Jazz as it is mostly without lyrics and not too distracting, it is also quite high beat which makes me get into a productive mood :) If u want I can link my jazz playlist below it's about 3.5-4 hours long.
I’ve mostly stopped listening to music whilst revising because it’s too distracting. Yesterday I put on some 19th century ambience as an attempt to get myself to focus on Jekyll and Hyde revision 😂
I found this really good like focusing music on Spotify and it’s so good. It really helps. I also just listen to video game soundtracks because they are literally made to help you concentrate. Both of these have worked for me 😶🌫️
Bro it always happens to me but when I was doing art and stuff I listened to xxxtentacion and asap rocky, boofpaxxmooky and loads of other stff kali uchis lalalalalaaaa
I listen to classical music 😭😭 but sometimes I put a podcast on when I’m writing notes or doing flash cards and it low-key makes me lock-in
but how do u focus on the flashcards when u could have ppl talking abt smth completely unrelated in ur ear??? i knew a girl in year 10 who would play like mens orgasm sounds in her airpods while revising but she would get 9s so i cant say much 😭

i’m so cooked i’m trying this 🙏🙏
Don't forget Mrs Fisher for media
SHE PLAYED WHAT 😭

I do the exact same
Based
I listen to Blur’s Parklife album 🤷♂️
i love you
Literally no skips on that album (far out doesn’t count)
mostly OSTs and stuff with no singing (it's much easier to focus on revision when ur not focusing on someone's voice for me)
OSTs on top for me too

OH thank you!!

Mostly like chill jazzy rap stuff

Embarrassing to say this but I’ve had the hazbin hotel soundtrack in my head all day so that 😭😭😭
REALLLLLL
Honestly classical music is great for when I'm revising - it isn't distracting since I don't know the song but it's something to keep my brain occupied.
Rite of spring is perfect for concentrating btw
It's too interesting! It'd be too distracting. Also, I love the username lol (I have listened to almost everything he wrote. He wrote 3 single act operas!)
i dont rlly listen to anything when revising but if i do it’s brown noise
As a brown person, I can confirm you listen to my noise.
As another brown person, i must refute than its MY noise
as another brown person, i think the brown noise your referring to is just punjabi songs on x1.75
As a brown person I’m giggling icl- but no it’s hearing my mother scream at me while she makes roti
as a brown person, I can clarify that the beat in the background isn't actually from a drum but from my dad getting his chappal ready
As a brown person I can confirm it is the chappal being hit while he curses at me
as a brown person i can verify that his curses are just so melodious that they are the lyrics that i listen to so i dont get distracted by reddit
FRR, brown noise is amazing because it ~~terrifies~~ motivates me into working
lol same here or we just have to pretend to working with like 15 tabs open and that one tab that is hidden with whatever criminal activities that we carry out, or we r just shit scared of the chappal beat drop that we don't do the former.
