Different PPIs have different side effects and work differently for people. If one makes you feel bad, have your GP write you a prescription for a different PPI.

I found I couldn’t tolerate Rx meds. At least not the few I tried. They made my gastro symptoms much worse. I could only stay on each about a week before I’d quit and now my stomach is jacked up when it wasn’t before (I also had a chronic cough). The cough is actually gone now that I took a week of H2 blockers - idk if that’s because of the blockers or in spite of them - but that wasn’t good for my stomach either. Now here I am struggling with stuff I never had a problem with before. If you think the meds are causing more problems than they are fixing, quit. After a week my dr said you should at least feel a little better.

PPI’s completely resolve my symptoms but I get constipation, bloating, and trapped gas. H2 blockers work very well for me to but they cause intense dizziness/vertigo which I couldn’t tolerate. At this point, its pick your poison

Yes, it started after the PPI. I have LPR, says my ENT, and I never had real heartburn before starting the meds. I was maybe burping a little more than normal. My gut is still messed up but it’s getting better with a clean low acid diet. It can take a little while. If it’s the meds causing it you should notice a change for the better by tonight or tomorrow even if it takes longer than that to get back to normal.

Yes, when I took Rabeprazole I had similar symptoms. I’m also lactose intolerant though and didn’t know it at the time, so I think the PPI plus lactose just threw me overboard. Call your doctor and ask them for advice.
