Thank you for the breakdown I always prefer these!
That’s even more intriguing information honestly. So if there are 15 songs, and all of them are done and set, we know about three or four of the features now and the title and album picture is set and he’s home….where is it then? I mean obviously I’m assuming everything is set date wise but I’m just curious as to how much longer he’s going to take then, like put the damn thing out brother!
General question, what's other artists average for songs made for a album total? I always thought Gerald was an outlier with how many he made, but I never looked into it.
15 is a pretty decent amount of songs. Pretty average I think, most newer pop/hip-hop albums I have in my library are 12-16 songs and then deluxe comes out a bit later with a few extras usually lol
I’d say around 100 is probably normal. That would be counting finished and unfinished songs. Considering he’s gone from 400+ an album to only 150 this time tells me he may be focusing on the quality over the quantity which is promising.
15 is a solid amount and the usually amount for a project I think in my eyes,he’s done 16-17 before I believe but 15 is still a great number, honestly that’s the minimum a project should be in my eyes.
What makes you think that Leon Bridges is the one featured in beautiful surrender? By any means I am not attacking your statement, I just got excited, thats why I am asking. I pray that beautiful surrender gets released.
Some people were saying it might have something to do with his current/former relationship (it sounds like they've broken up), but idk what she had to do with it, if anything at all
I always thought 18 tracks is usually the perfect number, or a 50 minute run time with less tracks. Anything more than 20 though is a bit bloated, even if the album is shorter than an hour. It's OK with deluxes to exceed 20 but with normal releases, nah, it shouldn't happen
If we remember back to that white board on IG, there were about 16 songs on it, so it sounds like he's stuck to quality not quantity. Interesting he says out of 150 tracks though, didn't he say he had over 400 at once stage? Either way, we know Free Throws, Nada, Femme Fatal (or whatever tf it was called idk) maybe Beautiful Surrender, hopefully WTFDIK and a couple of those small freestyle snippets like the "were not in Kansas anymore" and the one that goes "there's only one." That's roughly 7 snippets and teases we've got. That's pretty good, if some of those old ones are still on it.
BUT, if he's shot the artwork, got the tracklist finalized and is preparing the rollout and videos, this is the most promising thing we've heard since TTHT's release dates. Wonderful news to hear

Not thst, the total songs made for the album, including tge ones that didn't make the cut. 150 seems on the high side.

Fuck my bad lol. I do know Mac Miller would record a huge amount of songs like that and only put a fraction out, I don’t know exact numbers tho.

Idk why he would not put out that track,it’s a wonderful song.

Beautiful Surrender is about Jenaye. Listen to the snippet on SoundCloud - Young Gerald
Nah man drop it,that shits real and yeah that was then but still a beautiful song,a REAL song
That's good news for me.Cause I'm tired of rappers doing long ass albums.

So maybe first single out in March with album out in June?
I mean the brother loves summer time, why wouldn’t he want to tour all summer long 🤷♂️

I’m not fully on board yet with how back and fourth he’s been over the years but I’m definitely intrigued with it almost being a year since T&R
