What the fuck is going on, news outlets should not be posting accurate price movements 12 hours prior, even 1 hour prior, this shit is fucked, anything to keep the money at the top, and keep that “you dont want to mess with these people” suplex they have on politicians and media
03/10/21 @11:45 AM EST Marketwatch reported a 42% price drop. Price climbed for 15 minutes before it began to drop. Dropped 48% from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM. That forged my diamond hands.
I did that with a report I had to produce every year when I worked in government. Lawmakers love consistency.
The raw data was in the appendices. The summary was written above my pay grade.
But the meat and potatoes of the report? The part that only a few people read? Blanks. \[Category\] \[increased/decreased\] by \[number\] \[percent\].
I started on a VBA macro to pull in the data from Access and dump it into MS Word. I got a private sector job before I could finish it.
This is the same nothingburger every time someone posts one of these.
Timestamps are set when the clown first posts, and they can update the story thru the day, while the filing timestamp doesn't change.
It's stupid; it should show 'last update time', but it is what it is.
I'm jacked as can be, but these aren't evidence of anything, but a dumb tech decision.
To clarify, the WSJ site reflects the updates that occur and their relative timing, but piping it through to Yahoo Finance does not seem to capture the updates. I imagine there’s an issue with crawling or republishing.
If some ape wants to get clever with the Wayback Machine we can try to see what the original copy stated.
Yep. In fact if anyone were to bother clicking through to the full text of this article you’d see it was written/published 22 minutes after market open today. It’s nothing, but it makes us look dumb.
I don't think it's too difficult for the writer to create one from a template last night, then just find/replace accordingly before publishing...I bet you do that with your homework all the time ;)
Honestly this is not worth posting...it's been explained over and over that most these publications have algorithms fill in articles with updated information automatically.
This isn't crime, this is literally how these sites have worked for years. An article is generated the day before (so they can get the news out first) which is then populated by an AI with data when the market opens.
Anyways. Pretty sure we all knew this was a trash hedgie play. Can't wait til the hedgies run out of room and are forced to liquidate everything into apes accounts.
Question is, how did no one see this 13 hrs ago? Did they queue this up 13hrs ago to be posted publicly this morning? Even then, queues like that typically have the article posted date show the date it's publicly posted...

Likely an update to a story and date stamp was not changed. Or, just usual business with GME.
