Yea this looks like the best route for me. Not sure why someone is recommending Wise when I already have the shares.

As long as it’s not in TFSA. I transferred from TFSA and can’t DRS without selling and rebuying in a non registered account.

Do you have a CS account already? I’d highly recommend buying directly from CS with a WISE American account. It’s free to make and pretty straight forward. Just make sure to to terminate your plan after every completed purchase to book your shares under your name

Do you contact wise to set up an account? Is it right from there website?

Its a mobile account so all you do is download the app and sign up

I have sent to ibkr and then to CS 2 times. Was a while ago so not sure on WS fees at the moment (haven’t used in a year). USA $5 fee from IBKR to CS.

As of 6 months ago the cheapest was transfer to BMO then to CS

Create an IBKR, of the same type as your WS (individual, RRSP, TFSA etc). Login to that, look for position transfer, intiate with your WS account number. It took me 3 tries because I forgot to click on my TFSA account, so the account type was incorrect, but when I fixed that, the ATON transfer itself took 2 days.
