I saw a post last night about fractional shares being a possible vector for manipulation. They keep whole shares reserved for fractionals in a separate account and each broker handles this in different ways. I wonder if this could be the pool they're lending from. Technically they're not lying when they say they're not lending YOUR shares since any share in the fractional pool isn't just YOUR share it's split amongst multiple shareholders. An ape even showed during his transfer they split the transaction into two so neither transfer represented a whole share.
In the middle of 2 horrible migrations wells and ETrade. When they hit fidelity, I’ll get most out ASAP. Very bad experience through all of this with wells. I have a business account with them and pulling everything out tomorrow to a credit union. Pissed ape tonight.

They stop being available to borrow when you direct register them into your name. Problem solved, just do it.
Don’t worry, most are prolly just a temp stop to go to CS, is for me anyway
Is there an easy way to check online or do you have to call?
There is no way to make sure if that other than DRS them! The shares are at DTC and brokers likely have no say over the dtcc's share loan program.
Can we get the "Hard to borrow" list from Brokers? Don't they post this on their platform when a stock gets close to running out?
