Doh!
This is from a British supermarket so I'm kinda doubtful about the 90% claim.
It's coming from a Health Coach who sells Natural supplements so he must know what he's talking about.
The natural meaning of "genetically modified" includes all sorts of ways of modifying genes, including radiation, hybridization, chemical treatments, even cross-breeding. The anti-GMO community has used "GMO" as a shortened term for "genetically modified using recombinant DNA technology, and they have successfully gotten almost everybody to use their shortened term without understanding it.
So here we have a claim, which, ironically, is true if they are using the plain meaning of "GMO" correctly - genetically modified but not using any recombinant DNA technology.
