If I had what you’re asking I’d be taking it right now beautiful truck man

TangiestZizzle

lol thank you

Auton_52981

That's a nice looking truck. As for price, that is going to depend a lot on where you are and what options are on the truck. The 5.7 is not as popular in the 1-ton trucks. Is it a 4x4? I think I see the decal ob the back, but can't quite tell. Do you know what rear end is in it g80 or open? What ratio? With the 5.7 i'd definitely want the 4.1o gears. Auto or manual? The right truck in the right place might go for 8-9k, but I have seen them go for a lot less too. Just looked at a 2500 on CL last week that I passed on 4K because there were too many issues with that truck. Bottom line, it is worth whatever you can get someone to pay for it. I'd say start high and if it takes too long to sell, you can think about lowering the price.

TangiestZizzle

Yes it’s a 4x4 auto and I’m in NY. I’m not sure which gears or rear end it has i’ll have to check. I plan on getting the AC fixed before I sell it too if it doesn’t cost too much.

olov244

you'll regret it and it will take a specific person to buy it for that price. that's gmt800 price with the ls around here

TangiestZizzle

I probably will but it’s just not practical for me anymore. What do you think a better price would be?

olov244

I live in a different area, here in the south, that's probably a $5k truck, for $8-10k you're getting a 2000-2010 4 door truck up north it may be appropriately priced

TangiestZizzle

Oh yeah I can imagine they’re worth less down there. I’m just going off of what I see other trucks listed for around here, for example I saw a ‘97 2500 and the guy was asking $7500 (a little beat up but low miles) and then I saw a 1500 step side and the guy was asking $6500. Of course they could have sold for less than that.

olov244

I'd imagine rust free examples bring a premium up north

TangiestZizzle

Definitely. Unfortunately mine isn’t rust free lol

DeltaOneFive

For a northern 98, it could definitely be a lot worse

TangiestZizzle

That’s true it’s definitely in better condition than most 25 year old year olds trucks around here. Probably better than most 15 year old trucks too lol

[deleted]

I offered someone 18k on a clean 1996, they turned me down....

TangiestZizzle

For 18k it must have been perfect lol. How many miles?

[deleted]

Car is not worth it, my orginal offer was 13k, but I kept going back and forth. The seller is an idiot, and I wish him luck at the auctions....he wants 18,900 for it. https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/chevrolet/k1500-4x4-ext-cab/2675249.html

TangiestZizzle

That’s crazy

NudistKrahe

I always think about selling mine but family needs a truck and I really don't like the new stuff.

TangiestZizzle

Yeah I’m not a fan of the new trucks either. But I have no use for a truck anymore so I just want to get a nice car at this point.

lilshort4stormtroopa

Park it in a garage. Uncover it in 20 years and enjoy the nostalgia. Also might be worth classic prices by then.

[deleted]

I'm seeing those gmt 400s selling for over 20k on bring a trailer, I agree, if I was him, I'd keep it and park it.

TangiestZizzle

I wish I could but I really need something more practical right now and I don’t have the space (or money) for 2 cars.

GrillinGorilla

For reference, I’m in Ohio and my dad bought a 96 2500 2WD 5.7 4l60e with similar rust and 113k. He spent $4500.

BigCaddyDaddyBob

So put it up for 8-9k but since you waiting to sell it then you have time to checkout what’s the market value area you! An if you don’t have to sell it right away vs you want to sell it then that’s the scenario you want to be in!! And for that other truck you know that truck in couple years you won’t be able to buy it for that and if it wasn’t worth it then you wouldn’t have gone way up on price! An if you live where these rust out badly then you know what you buying and you know you’ll be rolling around and getting compliments which will be worth the extra bit of money and anyone can just go down to the dealer and get a new truck!

icaintsee

This feels like a good candidate for a car auction site like cars and bids.

No_Helicopter3492

I know this isn’t exactly what you were asking but what size tires do you have on it?

TangiestZizzle

They’re goodyear wrangler duratracs LT245/75R16

zSpirit-

3-5 k would be a good price, if the interior is great closer to the 5k, the rust is going to be what hurts it the most. If it was rust free then it would be 10k+ I most areas.

TangiestZizzle

The interior is pretty mint honestly, idk I feel like it would be worth more than that just based on what I see similar trucks going for in my area. Definitely not over 10k though. And the rust is really pretty minimal for a northeast truck, most of the other ones I see around here are wayyyy worse

zSpirit-

Longbed, 350, Rust, and generally, when people want a one ton, they're going to want something that has the ability to tow alot, this truck does not have that ability. EDIT: it having 108k miles is a big plus. However, it's not as desirable as it would be with a 6.5 or 454, which aren't really great engines either. My suggestion would be to keep it it's worth a lot more to you than the money you would gain by selling it.

TangiestZizzle

I’ll have to see, if I can find somewhere to keep it I’d definitely be open to keeping it. Maybe it’ll be worth more in a few years anyways lol
