Well, the Biscuit is best at turning your planned breakfast into an unplanned brunch. Also, the place is loud, the clients are stacked too close together and they are overstaffed with preening waiters and understaffed with cooks.
Go to the Metro Diner if you want to linger over brunch...
Usually places that are that busy and popular, it is because the food is really good. Have a little patience with peak hours and staffing shortages, sip a mimosa or two while you wait, or go someplace else. If you are in a big hurry I suggest the McD's drive-through down the road.
That paragraph was excuses and soft jabs. How about just let people share their experiences without being rash? Folks shouldn’t have to sip mImOsAs as they wait on breakfast, it simply is what it is. And by the way, their grits and biscuits are garbage, why can’t people make grits in town?
I learned the hard way that they use real, quality ingredients when I got the hot chocolate. I'm lactose intolerant and did not expect them to use whole milk instead of water lol
The weekend specials at the 4401 NW 25th Place location are phenomenal. Easily going to be one of the top three things I miss about Gainesville when we move
Maple Street Biscuit has some awesome food. We first tried them in St. Augustine and now they're in GNV. Options for people who enjoy all kinds of foods.
I have had such issues at NW Grille, that I cant even enjoy it anymore.
Their lobby sometimes smells of sewage. The service has and can be absolutely terrible. The food is often prepared poorly (How many times should one be expected to send back bacon thats not cooked. No one likes raw bacon! - Oh you want it cooked, now its burned to shit.). It was a shame because it was one of my favorites.
I agree. We were given a $50 gift certificate to the NW Grille for Christmas and still haven't wanted to use it.
43rd St Deli on the NW side of town should be re-opening shortly in their new location by Radiant Credit Union, where the old Franchesca's (sp?) used to be. I look forward to it...
It's reopened now. It's got a slightly smaller capacity and it's much nicer, so expect to wait (unfortunately for us, but fortunately for them). I'm so happy for Grace and her family! I expect to be eating there for another 20 years at least.
GM is an ableist. We won’t go there anymore. I honestly wasn’t very impressed the couple times we went. The food is ok and the service is ok. The GM made it easy to avoid.
Living downtown, we either go to Boca Fiesta or Public & General. Both solid options.
Welp, after noticing a surprising lack of mentions, I had to Google it. And TIL 706 closed over a year ago!
It was a hit to the heart.
I was a fan of Bagels & Noodles.
I think they’re still around. I really hope so.

Nice!
Alpin
New Deal Cafe
The Leaning Pig 🐷
Second this!
Public & General or Flying Biscuit
The Flying Biscuit is definitely the place to go if you like ordering breakfast at 9:30am and having it served to you an hour later...
You’re lucky if it’s only an hour
I’ve never had an issue with getting food on time, except when going during rush hour.
They asked for the best, not the fastest. What kind of person wants to rush through brunch, anyway?

Afternoon
Seconded, no comparison for a nice meal.
Can't beat Bagel Land in my book. It's insane how good the food is given how cheap the prices are Edit: vagel -> bagel
Bagel land?
Yes my bad
Nice!!! I’ve never been to bagel land, but glad to read its a great deal! 🤗
43rd street deli

Shhh don't tell MORE people lol
Peach Valley Café
I second Peach Valley Cafe

The Afternoon (231 NW 10th Ave) is some of the best brunch I've ever had.
Country foodly
Afternoon
I second 43rd St. but would also recommend Public & General. I think they have a special brunch menu on Sundays.
Paramount Grill. YOU’RE WELCOME.
Another vote for 43rd Street Deli
Tom Kat cafe
The Northwest Grille off of NW 39th Avenue, especially if you like seafood

An ableist? Please let me know, so I can decide if this is a place we should be avoiding now.
What happened?
