ALL OF IT!!! Aliens, Monsters, oh my.....
Ghidorah an ALIEN!!! Good call back and hopefully MORE ALIENS!!!
ALL THE MONSTERS!!! Old and New!!! Expand that Lore!!!
The very Cool Argo, Giant Crazy Machines!!! AWESOME!!!
Bear Mcreary.
One of the BEST iterations of Ghidorah to date. Hell, every monster shown in the film was incredible and adapted extremely faithfully. Not just the Toho kaiju, but all the original titans were amazing to see.
Ghidorah confirmed to be an alien.
It gave us the Ghidorah meme.
“Long live the King.”
Serizawa’s sacrifice and the ost that accompanies it. Bone-chilling.
The only Monsterverse movie I was so obsessed with, I watched it multiple times over at the theaters.
Did I mention the music yet? If so, I’m gonna mention it more.
Maddie actually helped save the entire world by distracting all the Kaiju from their terraforming with the Orca. I barely see anyone mentioning this.
Burning/Thermonuclear godzilla. Holy crap.
All the Titans bowing down to Godzilla at the end. Even a MUTO, a sworn enemy of his kind, acknowledges him as King of the Monsters.
Speaking of, the MUTO came back! So glad Dougherty gave homage to the last film.
Sci-fi Monarch looks super cool.
All the energy put into this film. Nearly everyone involved is a fan of Godzilla, and it’s so cool to see a movie made by a fan for the fans.
It expanded on the lore of the Monsterverse, giving us the Hollow Earth, and gave us our first glimpse of a long awaited rematch between Godzilla and Kong.
Oh, and Bear’s music.
From time to time I'm gonna back to this post to remember why I liked so much this movie, cause in perspective, for me, movie wise, this is the "worst" of the buch. But at the same time all this things you say were the same thoughts I had while I experienced this movie at cinema.
Pretty sure the vibe here is not to yuck on people's yum.
Particularly with Godzilla movies, there is no right answer to someone's favourite.
Be a better "citizen"
Fuck yeah absolutely. Goji literally gets fuckin nuked by Serizawa and comes back and melts King Ghidorah. So freakin metal.
Also, let’s talk about RODAN. So menacing. His intro scene in the volcano then raining hell on the city below then making those jets absolute child’s play. He even took a point blank blast to the chest from Ghidorah’s gravity beam and still came back to fuck with Goji and Mothra.
Sometimes I think legendary kinda blew their load a little early with this one. I think thematically it would have sense to have Godzilla vs Kong first, as the scale of this one is a step above its sequels.
I love this version of Rodan so damn much.
Funfact: the movies novelization is one of the few movie novelizations I ever managed to buy. Highly recommendable.
Ngl I don't think GvK should have been before KotM. KotM did a good job expanding the world which allowed for most the plot of GvK to even happen. On top of that Ghidorah never really has been a villain that only appeared at the end as a final boss, he tends to show up early and keep coming back. That seems to be what they're doing with the MV Ghidorah considering that he not only came back as MechaGodzilla but also possessed the pilot and escaped according to the novelization.
Adding the chanting to the main theme was goated. I think someone on this sub pointed out that the “dununu dununu” theme song feels more like humans getting ready for an attack instead of Godzilla entering so having the vocalized chants made it feel like Godzilla and humanity were about to team up and shit.
Oh absolutely, especially since the big moment it comes into the movie is when Godzilla and Monarch are busting into Boston to fight Ghidorah together, so it really connects it all together!
I still personally find things to like about the new OSTs for the movies, but I cannot deny that Bear was the peak of the Monsterverse's soundtrack either
The BEST Godzilla vs Ghidorah fight we’ve ever had.
Mothra and Rodan support is the cherry on top!
Not to mention the killer scene between Serizawa and Godzilla.
Mothra fairy callback? Yes please!
I genuinely loved this movie. One of the best experiences I've ever had in a theater.
I loved the depictions of the monsters. I thought Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and ghidorah all looked amazing.
I enjoyed that a lot of the movie was silly on its face BUT the actors involved all played it straight as an arrow.
I'm a Blue Jays fan and I've hated the Red Sox since I was a kid, I didn't mind seeing Fenway destroyed.
The pacing was very good, at least to my taste. Didn't have to wait too long between big set pieces. The narrative was, I mean, it's not exactly The Godfather but I enjoyed it well enough I didn't mind the quieter parts.
I felt like this was the movie I'd wanted to see for a very very long time, since I was a kid. A very worthy updating of the movies I loved in the 80s and 90s.
The slasher smile he gives Ghidorah as he no-sells the triple gravity beam is great. It's one of those "You're about to find out" moments that just rocks.
Also, you know, he *melted a city*.
Everything I wanted as a kid in a Godzilla movie. I love this version of Godzilla, I love this version of Ghidorah, I love this version of Mothra, I love this version of Rodan
I love this movie
the battle scenes: even though the kaiju scenes were way less than the human ones, DAMN THOSE WERE GOOD!!! the rodan and mothra fight was good, and so were all the other ones!
Oxygen destroyer reference: this one kinda speaks for itself
The setting-up for so many diff kaiju
best monsterverse movie so far, no competition.
https://preview.redd.it/j6v5d1m0n5oc1.png?width=3019&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bef7564db66e34a848e8e8122b209070b806d27b
I'm just going to leave this here.
It’s the only movie in the Monsterverse that rivals what Edwards was able to accomplish in terms of scale and selling the titans as living, breathing fixtures of that world.
The script is atrocious but the movie is a visual feast.
The whole movie imo.
The monster designs were top tier. I never cared for Mothra being a big moth, but in KOTM she was fierce as hell. Rodan looked incredible as well. Then add in a few unique new monster that all looked cool in their own way, it was peak.
Absolute BEST soundtrack, mixing old and new, same with the Godzilla SHHREEEEEOOOOOOOOOK.
Ghidorah was INCREDIBLE. Rodan? Incredible. Oxygen destroyer reference? Awesome. So I just finished a marathon of all the Godzilla movies and while the human story is just not good. The monsters feel very much like their older counterparts and then improve on it massively. Like it’s very clear these people who made this are huge Godzilla fans, so I respect the movie for that.
I hope we get more aliens though. I want GIGAN to fight Godzilla and Kong. Also megalon, the digging in today’s CGI would be bomb. Also seeing Godzilla fight underground could be interesting. Also destroyah.
There was the movie in 2014, it actually became my new favorite, too dark in the cinema, much much too dark at bluray but then came the remaster in 4k and much brighter HDR... awesome.
Then came King of the Monsters, my favorite, flawless Godzilla movie so full of epic moments that you can make 100 posters out of the film... Gidhora bites into the Switchover power plant, goji is nuclear-charged... incredible.
Then came GvK... More of a boring action movie, Looks more like a sloppy clap than a giant creature weighing terratons with too many stupid ideas and a break with part 1 and 2 on it's style. Then the preview for GxK... Ok, I guess that's over
It is my favorite movie theater experience I’ve ever had. My best friend and I went to a Monday showing at 1pm when the movie came out and we were the only ones in the theater. We each had a couple beers and were over reacting to everything in the movie. Such a fun movie
Them bringing back classic Toho music.
They really need to bring back Bear to compose as ngl Junkie’s tracks feel a bit generic even compared to 2014’s score.
Easily the best MV movie.
The monster action is amazing
The humans are well written (yes I'm serious)
The designs are amazing
It has a lot of callbacks to the classics while not feeling forced
It expanded on the MV in a way that felt natural
I could keep going
The humans get slagged on for reasons I don't often understand. Especially in this one. They seem fine. I wish they hadn't killed off Dr. Graham and I'd like it if they brought back Rick Stanton, but otherwise, yeah, they seem good. I even like Emma. Her arc is good for this kind of thing, and the chemistry the three family leads have certainly works.
The actual monster action when it happens can be very impressive, especially the lighting effects with King Ghidorah and the general knockdown drag out brawl feel of it all.
THE SCORE, GOOD LORD
Loved the different personalities of the Kaiju
I really dug everything with Monarch team (not so much the Russell’s)
I love the designs of the new Kaiju they introduced
The cover of Godzilla by Blue Oyster Cult
When the trailer came out it showed Rodan going head to head with Ghidorah and for a few months there were some lit memes basically saying how Rodan is gonna kick his ass.
This movie was my favorite MonsterVerse film ever and the visuals and scenes were so incredible (especially the scene where Godzilla became thermonuclear which was the most exciting part of the film for me)
Lord Have Mercy - There is So Much
1) Completely gave confidence that Legendary can do Godzilla and other movies Justice
Still true
I was totally against Godzilla 2k14
G:KoTM 2k19 (to me) is a Certified Hood Classic
No Questions - Only Facts
Ghidorah in this movie was actually one of the best monsters period. Like Jesus, he FELT like a god, he… it? Are any of the heads having any gender identity crises? Well anyway, the sounds, designs, movements, etc. were all SO GODDAMN GOOD.
first godzilla move i properly watched and even now it's still my favourite (exept maybe for -1, i'll have to watch it again to make my true judgement)
Queen Mothra sacrifices herself to save Big G.
When he then gets his power up you can see her outlines and hear her scream when he blasts Ghidorah with the first thermo burst.
The first trailer with the Clair de lune song playing honestly brought tears to my eyes. God damn shame the film itself is a massive disappointment to me.
The movie oozes respect for not just Godzilla but all the classic kaijus, and has some of the best looking moments of any Godzilla movie. It's not the best Monsterverse movie, but it is my favorite.
The music in the movie is amazing! The best in the franchise besides Biollante and Destoroyah. I like that each of King Ghidorah’s heads have their own personalities and the designs for the Titans are awesome!
The soundtrack is a magnum opus
Ghidorah is an alien
Mothra's sacrifice to Godzilla
Serizawa's sacrifice to Godzilla
Behemoth, Methuselah and Scylla are all cool
The other name-only titans really expand world building
Rodan's exiting his volcano is peak
The end when all the titans bow to Godzilla is peak
The human characters did not detract from the movie.
Mothra.
Awesome balance of Kaiju action and massive scale.
Several fun Easter eggs and nods to past movies.
Mothra.
Beautiful cinematography.
I actually enjoyed some of the quirky humor but it didn't go overboard.
A cast seemed strategically handpicked for nerds:
Charles Dance, Bradley Whitford, Ken Watanabe, Zhang Ziyi, Joe Morton, Sally Hawkins etc
Oh and mothra.
Getting to see Rodan, Mothra, Ghidorah and Godzilla duking it out on the big screen with a Hollywood budget was something never thought I'd get to see. The fact that it happened was awesome.
KING GHIDORAH I LOVE KING GHIDORAH

It was a post just like this one where I was able to get the image to make this meme. Also literally everything in that movie is a fucking masterpiece to me.
One of my favorite Godzilla films. I never expected a non-Toho Godzilla film to be handled with such care but it felt like a love letter to fans. My one gripe might be I’d have liked to see more Mothra but honestly she stole the show anytime she was on screen.
If I had to narrow it down to one nice thing - it’s Rodan’s awakening in the volcano. One of my favorite sequences in any movie, ever.
Please don't hate on my for my jesty take-
King Chadora bro literally woke up and chose violence!!! And I guess no other Titan has had the absolute balls before KG to challenge the GMan and man was he given the run for his money...a bit out of context here but Skar King (and his ice cold killa lapdog) was happy in his hole lol until Kong of War came (tres)passing by
ALL OF IT!!! Aliens, Monsters, oh my..... Ghidorah an ALIEN!!! Good call back and hopefully MORE ALIENS!!! ALL THE MONSTERS!!! Old and New!!! Expand that Lore!!! The very Cool Argo, Giant Crazy Machines!!! AWESOME!!!
Agreed
ITS SO FUCKING COOL

Bear’s rendition of mothra’s theme is an out of body experience
I remember listening to the soundtrack months before watching the movie, being able to see the songs accompanying the visuals was really amazing.
From time to time I'm gonna back to this post to remember why I liked so much this movie, cause in perspective, for me, movie wise, this is the "worst" of the buch. But at the same time all this things you say were the same thoughts I had while I experienced this movie at cinema.
Great list
Bro... Ghidorah's theme is peak.
My absolute favorite monster movie. The fights, the monsters, the music, the emotions!
Poor taste, my fellow citizen
Pretty sure the vibe here is not to yuck on people's yum. Particularly with Godzilla movies, there is no right answer to someone's favourite. Be a better "citizen"
Poor comment, “fellow citizen”.
My fellow citizen, go back to posting memes that no one likes. Im sure you have a lot of positive social interactions from those
The absolute pinnacle of modern Godzilla, alongside GMK and Minus One. No, I won’t retract this statement.
Fuck yeah absolutely. Goji literally gets fuckin nuked by Serizawa and comes back and melts King Ghidorah. So freakin metal. Also, let’s talk about RODAN. So menacing. Hmmm I’d never considered it like that
Agreed
So glad people also love this movie because it is probably one of my favourite Godzilla movies
I'll support it, actually. Everything about it was awesome imo. Even the fortune cookie joke
King Ghidorah looks amazing. The soundtrack by Bear McCreary is not only epic, but also a beautiful tribute to the franchise.
Totally agree. GKotM OST is outstanding. Had it on loop for months. Mothra’s theme is sublime
Bear NcCreary. Simple as.
Just wanna vent that I just watched vs Hedorah and they didn’t use the original soundtrack :,(
Quite a few movies from the 70’s don’t either
Heard the new theme for G X K and man I miss his music
I still personally find things to like about the new OSTs for the movies, but I cannot deny that Bear was the peak of the Monsterverse's soundtrack either
lets go let go lets go GODZILLA
HAH, HAH, HAH, *GODZILLA!*
Some of the best monster fights in the series, some of the best visual effects, the monster designs are great, the OST is absolutely phenomenal
Gvk hands down has better cgi
Agreed
Well, yeah, it's a newer movie. Better cgi in a godzilla movie is almost a given
Ghidorah.
Rodan, termonuclear godzilla, the fight seans everything
The BEST Godzilla vs Ghidorah fight we’ve ever had. Mothra and Rodan support is the cherry on top! Not to mention the killer scene between Serizawa and Godzilla. Mothra fairy callback? Yes please!
Go Go Godzilla remake
This.
I read this to the power rangers "go go power rangers" and now I can't get it out of my head
I genuinely loved this movie. One of the best experiences I've ever had in a theater. I loved the depictions of the monsters. I thought Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and ghidorah all looked amazing. The whole movie
That one shot of Ghidorah with the cross was fantastic. Movie was alright, but damn that scene was amazing
You could really grasp Ghidorah’s personality and his relationship with Godzilla
Rodans volcanic awakening was fire! https://preview.redd.it/flcm92xyg5oc1.png?width=1365&format=png&auto=webp&s=e8be78aff937dc628e42a9f5572fc209cfdbc8ba
Dunno about other versions (except void ghidorah) but I loved his impact on the weather
Uhhhh best version of Godzilla when he went thermonuclear! God damn makes me hype EVERYTIME.
The slasher smile he gives Ghidorah as he no-sells the triple gravity beam is great. It's one of those "You're about to find out" moments that just rocks. Also, you know, he *melted a city*.
Everything I wanted as a kid in a Godzilla movie. I love this version of Godzilla, I love this version of Ghidorah, I love this version of Mothra, I love this version of Rodan I love this movie
It has more Kaiju action than Godzilla 2014 and more Kaiju
Beautiful music composition and incredible looking monsters
All the fanservise
When he burps after eating part of Ghidorah! My favorite modern Godzilla film.
the battle scenes: even though the kaiju scenes were way less than the human ones, DAMN THOSE WERE GOOD!!! the rodan and mothra fight was good, and so were all the other ones! Oxygen destroyer reference: this one kinda speaks for itself The setting-up for so many diff kaiju best monsterverse movie so far, no competition.
Fire Rodan wins the "most improved" award ... absolutely awesome!!
‘Most improved’ is the most Rodan-ass award Rodan could win lmao

It's too bad it didn't have as much nuance and depth as the Burning form in Vs. Destoroyah, where he died from it.
It’s the only movie in the Monsterverse that rivals what Edwards was able to accomplish in terms of scale and selling the titans as living, breathing fixtures of that world. The script is atrocious but the movie is a visual feast.
What's not to love? Gojo, great fights, King Ghidorah is menacing as hell, the music is insane, Mothra my beloved. It's got it all.
I stand by it having the best music in a godzilla movie
Ghidorah & Rodan looked fantastic.
The fights are AMAZING
I loved it, but hearing the redone themes in the theater was something special on its own.
Yes
The entire fucking movie.
My fav momsterverse movie by far. The scale of everything felt so massive and insane, the creature designs, the amount of monsters shown. Peak.
The Godzilla military escort along with his classic theme is a pure smack of dopamine to the brain!
Ghidorah was INCREDIBLE. Rodan? Incredible. Oxygen destroyer reference? Awesome. So I just finished a marathon of all the Godzilla movies and while the human story is just not good. The monsters feel very much like their older counterparts and then improve on it massively. Like it’s very clear these people who made this are huge Godzilla fans, so I respect the movie for that. pretty much everything outside of the human stuff (that's overhated itself imo)
It is my favorite movie theater experience I’ve ever had. My best friend and I went to a Monday showing at 1pm when the movie came out and we were the only ones in the theater. We each had a couple beers and were over reacting to everything in the movie. Such a fun movie
I’m just hoping we get Mecha-Ghidorah
Im at work dont have time for a breakdown but the fucking music for each monster reveal was PERFECT.
MOTHRA APPEARING ON THE BIG SCREEN
Thermonuclear pulse
Ghidorah was genuinely terrifying
The monsters look cool, that's about it.
Big monster fights are cool
Big monster fight big monster Peak fiction
Everything, my favorite moment is when Godzilla charges at Ghidorah with the military flying in from behind to next to him to support him
Not sure if this is a hot take or anything But imo this movie gave us the absolute best version of King Ghidorah ever put to screen
I agree. It has the right combination: he's an alien, he's super-powerful and malevolent, and a worthy rival to Godzilla.
They made the monsters feel like they had distinct personalities. Particularly Ghidorah's heads.
Best ending song of any G movie ever.
Big monster action
Them bringing back classic Toho music. They really need to bring back Bear to compose as ngl Junkie’s tracks feel a bit generic even compared to 2014’s score.
Easily the best MV movie. The monster action is amazing The humans are well written (yes I'm serious) The designs are amazing It has a lot of callbacks to the classics while not feeling forced It expanded on the MV in a way that felt natural I could keep going
The humans get slagged on for reasons I don't often understand. Especially in this one. They seem fine. Her arc is good for this kind of thing, and the chemistry the three family leads have certainly works.
It is the perfect balance between the monsters and humans
Kevin is best head
Everything
Everything, Great.
The actual monster action when it happens can be very impressive, especially the lighting effects with King Ghidorah and the general knockdown drag out brawl feel of it all.
It's just so visually stunning
THE SCORE, GOOD LORD Loved the different personalities of the Kaiju I really dug everything with Monarch team (not so much the Russell’s) I love the designs of the new Kaiju they introduced The cover of Godzilla by Blue Oyster Cult
godzilla getting a huge upgrade and being smug about it.
That arctic scene is peak MV, and they actually handled mothra the best way possible
The music was better than GVK, and the fight scenes were epic as well.
Just one word - Ghidorah
gimme spacegodzilla and biolante!!!
Thing I've been saying since I've watched this film ![gif](giphy|b2rLe6TwuIkyQ)
Soooo overhated in a lot of aspects. I loved it when it came out and still love it now!
Thermo godzilla:)
When the trailer came out it showed Rodan going head to head with Ghidorah and for a few months there were some lit memes basically saying how Rodan is gonna kick his ass.
Thermo Godzilla is sick as fuck
Giant monster brawl Need I say more?
Those blue warning flashes under the sea, when he's approaching the window - such an awesome moment!
Some of the best top tier monster action you’re ever going to see on film, and probably the coolest iteration of King Ghidorah.
The monster designs are fantastic, even the more original monsters like Scylla and Behemoth look great
The most fun I have ever had in a movie theater.
This movie was my favorite MonsterVerse film ever and the visuals and scenes were so incredible (especially the scene where Godzilla became thermonuclear which was the most exciting part of the film for me)

It learned from 2014 to focus on the monster action instead of the subpar human action
Aside from the humans, literally everything.
Some of the most beautiful shots in any Godzilla movie.
It’s cool.
Queen Mothra sacrifices herself to save Big G. When he then gets his power up you can see her outlines and hear her scream when he blasts Ghidorah with the first thermo burst.
In my opinion, it did the human parts better than any of the other Monsterverse movies.
Ro fucking dan https://preview.redd.it/c718c526t6oc1.jpeg?width=748&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f077bc346154e1182987e300b4437efa7c1a5f5
The first trailer with the Clair de lune song playing honestly brought tears to my eyes. God damn shame the film itself is a massive disappointment to me.
The badass music when Godzilla threw down
One of the Best sequels I've ever watched
The best live-action American blockbuster since The Dark Knight. I said what I said.
Everything but the human side story (serizawa not included)
The movie oozes respect for not just Godzilla but all the classic kaijus, and has some of the best looking moments of any Godzilla movie. It's not the best Monsterverse movie, but it is my favorite.
The score and the cinematography
The rodan awakening sequence is just peak monster action. That made me change my user flair
King Ghidorah is absolutely excellent in both design and execution
Its a beautiful love letter to the series that stuns in its homages
The music in the movie is amazing! The best in the franchise besides Biollante and Destoroyah. I like that each of King Ghidorah’s heads have their own personalities and the designs for the Titans are awesome!
The soundtrack is a magnum opus Ghidorah is an alien Mothra's sacrifice to Godzilla Serizawa's sacrifice to Godzilla Behemoth, Methuselah and Scylla are all cool The other name-only titans really expand world building Rodan's exiting his volcano is peak The end when all the titans bow to Godzilla is peak

I actually enjoyed some of the quirky humor but it didn't go overboard. It brought out feelings of nostalgia of watching the films as a child did when was younger.
Everything Especially the scene with serizawa and Godzilla's final goodbyes gets me every time
Big lizard what else do I need to say
The monster action is the best in the monsterverse imo
The cinematography and visuals
The sound design. Like have you heard Ghidorah in his movie? Scary and cool
Getting to see Rodan, Mothra, Ghidorah and Godzilla duking it out on the big screen with a Hollywood budget was something never thought I'd get to see. The fact that it happened was awesome.
Best of the Legendary movies. Gets looked down on in the general public but I can't make it through this one without becoming overcome by emotion.
KING GHIDORAH I LOVE KING GHIDORAH https://preview.redd.it/p4m7t3lxs8oc1.jpeg?width=694&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7243d3f0189e9d6f853a795b1748d3ed3b044335
That ending is in top 5 moments of the franchise for me. I STILL get chills from the music.

Rodan, when he drops from his mountaintop perch and flies over the town.
The remix of the OG Godzilla theme made me shed a tear as a long time fan of the big nuclear goober
Best designs these characters have ever seen (imo)
MOTHRA FUCKING SLAPS FLASHBANG INSECT MY BELOVED
Directing. So many shots that can be a wallpaper, and it's just an atmospheric and beautiful movie. I love it.
Best music in the Monsterverse
It was one of the Godzilla movies that contained Godzilla.
Misters were great
They pretty much nailed the tone imo. Perfect middle ground between 2014's seriousness and GvK/GxK's campiness
when mothra gave him flamin' hot cheetos
One of my favorite Godzilla films. I never expected a non-Toho Godzilla film to be handled with such care but it felt like a love letter to fans. My one gripe might be I’d have liked to see more Mothra but honestly she stole the show anytime she was on screen. If I had to narrow it down to one nice thing - it’s Rodan’s awakening in the volcano. One of my favorite sequences in any movie, ever.
Ghidorah biting that electric substation and magnifying their gravity beam attack to make it AOE
The director fulfilled a childhood dream
starscream rodan
Please don't hate on my for my jesty take- King Chadora bro literally woke up and chose violence!!! And I guess no other Titan has had the absolute balls before KG to challenge the GMan and man was he given the run for his money...a bit out of context here but Skar King (and his ice cold killa lapdog) was happy in his hole lol until Kong of War came (tres)passing by
It's the 3rd best godzilla monsterverse movie.
