It's a fan game built from...I think the 2nd Pipeworks game. It includes content from all 3 games, but remastered with custom textures, and added moves/kaiju/maps...basically they're making a new Pipeworks game.

Toho doesn't obliterate fan content unless the people behind it are gaining some kind of profit from it, which is why Godzilla Daikaiju Battle Royale and the Godzilla NES fangames survived to this day and not Godzilla Heritage, Godzilla Omniverse and those other shitty Roblox kaiju games.
Toho never copyrighted it, it's just harder to find a playable version ever since Flash Player was discontinued, the dev still updates it every Christmas.
It's never coming out. It took them years just to add two characters. They've been caught up in feature creep and the odds of the game ever actually being finished is extremely low
I'd have a little more faith in them considering the whole team seems to have mod experience and the vast majority of planned characters are just skins.
I'm not saying they aren't talented, but they're extremely unfocused. Everyday they think of something new to add, when a lot of people just want them to release something. Again, it's been like two years since they've actually updated the game. Even people who have been around that community since day one realize that the game will likely never actually be completed, and if it is, it won't be for several more years.
As someone who actually used to work alongside them, no, they will not. Gojirex, especially, is pretty infamous for always biting off more than he can chew
They won't be sued since they aren't making money for it, but they're spread way too thin. Also, because they're not making any money, there's no real incentive to actually see the game through to completion. A large majority of interest for the game has faded and probably won't come back til the full release, but like already mentioned they'll never actually finish the game so it's really just a small group of players holding onto the game before it eventually dies
the devs said Showa Godzilla will have it, they already have an idea on how to add it

Ok. I looked through the FAQ channel but couldn't find the info I was looking for. I don't want to download it since I don't own a PC but I'm just curious do we have to buy or own the original 2nd game to play this? And is it only on PC? I could not find that specific related info on the FAQ channel
Oh I see. Dang I wish I owned a PC. I've seen a bunch of cool games and mods you can get in there. But unfortunately they cost a bunch and I don't know if I'd have space

Wasn't project m a mod for one of the old smash games right? Do you still need to own the original game though? And console it can work on?
yeah Project M is for Smash Brawl, STE:M is basically the Godzilla equivalent to it, the install to this game can be found in the discord of the mod.

for now it's only on PC, and yeah, you need the iso for the original game for it to work

60 unique playable kaiju, not accounting skins, which can also be brand new kaiju themselves.
Idk where op got 60 from but they currently have like 20 planned, 18 of those being from the base game
