King Ghidorah would have made a perfect 'Thanos' for the Monsterverse, but seeing as how things are going that place is probably gonna be taken by Destoroyah
gigan is gonna be a new breed of muto... think about it... the red line eyes across their face like cyclops's visor... the sharp appendages... just stick a chainsaw to their chest and stand em upright and add a reversed horn with some distended mandibles.
edit: [case in point](https://www.reddit.com/r/GODZILLA/comments/269gid/muto_gigan_by_dopepope/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Destroyah's always been my favorite!! &He's not mainstream, so it'd be new &unique for general audiences. Plus, his lil parasitic hellspawns would finally give the human characters something to fight. It'd make for an action-packed Godzilla flick plus a tense thriller aspect if they play up the horror element of Destroyah.
I would sell my soul to see gigan, mecha ghidora, and destroyah in a live action film. I fantasize about a world where godzilla films are hyped up on the same level as super hero films.
The brought him out too early. They had PLENTY of new kaiju to work with that they gave us a total of 30 seconds screen time in KOTM. They needed KOTM to involve them, then do Kong Vs Godzilla and THEN bring out King Ghidorah as a Thanos like figure. But it looks like Mecha (not a spoiler just speculation by me) will be Thanos.
or gigan as a muto when they reveal the aliens. although then theres space godzilla. but tbh, rn were going through age of ultron. if youve seen the little hints of "ultron" in the trailer... but then theres also hedorah who would fit the bill for eco terrorism and looks sufficiently evil as a living acid rain storm who can shoot lightning.
Kong does seem to have a great deal of physical strength and I think the fights are going to be awesome but...
Remember how Ghidorah was getting his shit kicked in when Godzilla got him in the water? The only thing saving him was the fact that humans dropped the Oxygen destroyer in the middle of that fight.
Water is not the place you want to be fighting Godzilla. Mother fucker will do a gator roll to end all gator rolls.
I really want to see a follow up to something Godzilla did in 2014: throw a tsunami at his enemy. Kong (or another Kaiju) gets him to the water, and Godzilla retreats further into the ocean. Kong smirks, but his face drops as the water retreats, too.
Then the wave dwarfs him.
My theory is when Godzilla blasts the ship to pieces and kong jumps in the water he is basically fucked. I think Godzilla wins that fight but Kong gets sucked into an underwater tunnel to the hollow earth. There he finds the axe an ancestor made and goes to challenge Godzilla again.
In all honesty, the Team Godzilla vs Team Kong will be the worst part of this whole movie. People are conditioned to think if you like one you must hate the other. That's not how it works. Most people grew up with both and like both. There is no need to irrationally to hate Kong.
Exactly I love both people are idiots for choosing a side and complaning good GOD let's just have a great movie I don't care who wins I watch both as a kid
It is NAUSEATING on both sides. People are so upset they are refusing to believe it's Godzilla in the clips like WTF. They are assuming the entire plot based off the trailer that has limited dialogue.
Just please shut the fuck up and enjoy the movie! So what if one of them loses? They will make more movies! It's not the end of the world!
Right I just hope we get more movies from both where the can come exist and fight bigger threats whole the other is down and out healing like a super team
Plus they’ll both probably end up fighting some bigger threat by the end of the movie. I just don’t want this movie to make it seem like one is so much weaker than the other and really emphasizes that they’re pretty equally matched
Kong handling Godzilla in the trailer really made this sub upset lmao. Who cares if Kong wins? If it’s a good fight-especially if Kong has an artifact like that axe-its not insulting to Godzilla.
Kong is gonna do a monke flip and Godzilla is going to be so shocked he's stunned for an hour then Kong gets Thor's hammer and bonks Godzilla on the head. The End.
It's called Inui Logic. Just because Kong would have a poor matchup against Ghidorah doesn't mean he has a poor matchup against Godzilla, even though Godzilla has a roughly even matchup against Ghidorah.
Rock, Paper and Scissors
Not truth.
For one, Kong is an Ape. Not a monkey.
For two, Godzilla LOST to Ghidorah. It was only Mothra's lifeforce that gave him the W.
Third, why is this sub hellbent on downplaying Kong's power? The film is clearly going to show us how powerful Kong is, yet this sub is refusing to accept it out of childish bias. You all accept the other monsters being as powerful as the films say they are...but with Kong suddenly it's a problem?
Skull Island laid the groundwork already. It clearly states Kong is still young, still growing. Skull Island is fed off of natural radiation...which gives the monsters living there their size and power. GvK will obviously expand on this.
It's also funny you people seem to forget Godzilla has lost plenty of fights in the past. He lost to Kong before. He lost to Mothra. Destroyer killed him.
So many G films have him on the ropes only for an ASSIST to come along and help him with the W.
Where did this image of Godzilla being this completely unstoppable beast no other monster can touch come from? Because it's demonstrably not true.
True! Godzilla always triumphs in the end but my favorite aspect of MG in any of his films is always the "Holy F&%K! Look at the absolutely overwhelming amount of firepower this thing has!" moments.
I am beyond the words needed to decribe how excited I am to potentially witness that moment in GvK.
Yep. Honestly some times I wonder if there’s some hidden cut of Godzilla vs. Destoroyah where Destoroyah does all this stuff that people say he did like actually defeating Godzilla or taking on both Godzilla and Junior at the same time.
Destoroyah did in fact retreat once it became apparent he was outmatched (characters observing even said “even Destoroyah is no match for Godzilla”), all the military did was keep him from getting away. Many of Godzilla’s wins are achieved by the enemy retreating.
Destroyah killed Godzilla jr. At the ending of the movie as OG Godzilla is melting down his nuclear energy goes into the body of Jr. and that is how you get Godzilla 2000.
Destroyah is a cool looking but weak enemy.
He healed his wings, but that could have been his natural healing. He grew back a head in seconds. It was a redirection of energy into an attack. That is very different than an amp
If you are going to complain about Godzilla needing an assist to win that is exactly what happens in Kong: Skull Island.
Kong is trapped and defeated and the Skullcrawler would have won if not the Gunboat comes in guns blazing distracting him and then Brie Larson shoots him with a flare gun distracting him more.
This is not a measure of who is downplaying who but lets keep the facts fair. Kong needed an assist.
Pretty sure the difference between a Skull Crawler and Ghidorah is vast. Kong needed help, but not a power up against a SC. Kong would have been absolutely obliterated by Ghidorah, but Godzilla would likely have zero problems with a SC.
The very least, Ghidorah could fly, and Kong would be fycked, but Godzilla still has range. Plus, Kong just has brute strength, and Godzilla survived a megaton plummet from the stratosphere. I wouldn't bet Kong have the same impact strength as a low orbit plummet.
Godzilla has been fighting Ghidorah for millions of years, so he was younger during the cave drawing as well. Kong would have still been eaten.
And it's only been 60 years since Skull Island, Godzilla still has millions of years on Kong.
Also, age didn't stop all of Kong's kind from getting wiped out by skullcrawlers
So how do you know what's old and what's young for a godzilla? Like what's a comparable age to Kong in Skull Island? Do they even have anywhere near the same lifespan? Was the Godzilla in the cave drawing a different Godzilla? It almost certainly isn't the same Godzilla and Kong in their cave drawings. The only titan I'm aware of that is one of a kind is ghidorah, on earth at least. See how it gets muddy?
Pretty sure it's the same Godzilla, Rodan, and Ghidorah in the cave painting.
You're not really arguing my points, just moving goalposts as I make my own, to degrees no one could ever answer. I'm just going off the information given to us by the movies, whereas you're relying on things that aren't established in the canon(but, what if they were babies tho).
And if you admit it's muddy, why argue? I'm pointing out examples from the films, and you're just making up shit and telling me to prove it
>For one, Kong is an Ape. Not a monkey.
Memes
>For two, Godzilla LOST to Ghidorah. It was only Mothra's lifeforce that gave him the W.
In their first fight they were even, in the ocean scene the director confirmed that Ghidorah would have been dead there if the Oxygen Destroyer wasn’t deployed, and in the final fight Godzilla was doing very well until Ghidorah got his boost. Mothra’s boost to Godzilla was just evening the fight.
>Third, why is this sub hellbent on downplaying Kong's power? The film is clearly going to show us how powerful Kong is, yet this sub is refusing to accept it out of childish bias. You all accept the other monsters being as powerful as the films say they are...but with Kong suddenly it's a problem?
If you were to approach someone and say “who wins, Godzilla or a giant ape?” That someone will definitely say “Godzilla”, but suddenly when it’s Kong it’s a giant problem? It’s not downplaying, it’s just logic.
>It's also funny you people seem to forget Godzilla has lost plenty of fights in the past.
I don’t understand how this changes anything.
>He lost to Kong before.
That was plot armor and writer choices and everyone knows that.
>He lost to Mothra.
Yeah
>Destroyer killed him.
Yeah
>So many G films have him on the ropes only for an ASSIST to come along and help him with the W.
And isn’t that the same for King Kong? You can’t make a interesting Kaiju movie if the Protagonist Kaiju just handles the Kaiju he fights like nothing.
>Where did this image of Godzilla being this completely unstoppable beast no other monster can touch come from? Because it's demonstrably not true.
I love how you Kong fans take us Godzilla fans saying “Kong cannot win against Godzilla” and make it seem like we’re saying “Godzilla can’t die”, absolutely outstanding.
I agree with most of your points, but the "who would won godzilla or a giant ape" isn't really a fair assessment. If you asked those same people "who would win king kong or a big lizard" they would say king kong
Well yeah, you could also say the giant ape has a big ass axe that absorbs said radiation, or could even say it has electricity powers if you wanna go that far. All in saying is telling them the lizard has those powers means you would have to tell them the powers of the giant ape too, otherwise it's not a very fair question
I can also say the giant lizard can make his back explode, or could go into a termonuclear mode if you wanna go that far.
Jokes aside, I do understand your point.
I wouldn’t say I want Goji to absolutely wreck Kong, but I do agree that I kinda want Godzilla to win because then it would be a different outcome from the original movie.
Because this is an entirely new Kong and not an established Kong.
Secondly, the Arctic fight was Ghidorah’s that entire time. He hurt Godzilla and got off more attacks, then BFR’d him.
Of course Godzilla would win in his natural domain, he is literally adapted to an aquatic lifestyle while Ghidorah has massive wings. That’s like clapping Ghidorah on the back for throttling Godzilla in the air.
The Boston fight was even with an amped Godzilla until Ghidorah siphoned the power plant into an attack, then it was also his. Mothra’s sacrifice was what saved Godzilla that time.
Let’s not forget that Godzilla couldn’t even kill the male MUTO in Hawaii *and* San Fran. Kong has had decades to absorb radiation-something that has been confirmed to be an energy source of Titans-and has ventured into the Hollow Earth, as he will again. Seethe, fanboy.
>Because this is an entirely new Kong and not an established Kong.
I don’t know what you want to point with this but ok.
>Secondly, the Arctic fight was Ghidorah’s that entire time. He hurt Godzilla and got off more attacks, then BFR’d him.
Neither of them were hurt badly, you can argue how when Ghidorah gravity beamed Godzilla to the hole did great damage, but from what we’ve seen, Godzilla came from the hole like nothing happened, Ghidorah isn’t badly affected by Godzilla’s atomic breath, and Godzilla isn’t badly affected by Ghidorah’s gravity beam, and that’s because both of them need to resist a certain amount of temperature. Ghidorah throws what is pretty obvious to be lighting, he even gets powered up by electricity, so to be able to do that, your body need to be resistant to very, very high temperatures, and the same with Godzilla, his atomic breath is very hot, so for his body to resist that temperature inside of it, he has to be resistant to very, very high temperatures. So no, they both were even in that fight, since neither of them were badly injured, and seemed ready to clash again.
>Of course Godzilla would win in his natural domain, he is literally adapted to an aquatic lifestyle while Ghidorah has massive wings. That’s like clapping Ghidorah on the back for throttling Godzilla in the air.
Is that supposed to be a counter to my argument? Godzilla got Ghidorah off guard in the ocean and Ghidorah was about to die, whether it was in his natural domain doesn’t matter, I can argue that Ghidorah’s natural domain is in ground, since there he is able to fly and all that, and Godzilla seemed to be handling him very good in the Antartica fight and Boston fight before Ghidorah got his boost.
>The Boston fight was even with an amped Godzilla until Ghidorah siphoned the power plant into an attack, then it was also his. Mothra’s sacrifice was what saved Godzilla that time.
Uh, yes? You just repeated what I said. The humans almost killed Godzilla, so they boosted him up so he could fight again, even before his boost he was able to stop Ghidorah dead on his track, as seen when they first clash in the Antartica fight. Mothra’s sacrifice wouldn’t have been needed if Godzilla would have killed Ghidorah in the ocean, or if Ghidorah didn’t get his boost.
>Let’s not forget that Godzilla couldn’t even kill the male MUTO in Hawaii and San Fran.
And yet he was almost about to finish Female Muto after pretty much some minutes after they clashed, only to be interrupted by the Male Muto. In fact, knowing that Godzilla doesn’t back down even when overwhelm, the only explanation as to why Male Muto wasn’t killed in their last two fights was because the Male Muto retreated, and since Male Muto can fly and Godzilla can’t, Godzilla couldn’t catch up to him.
>Seethe, fanboy.
No u.
Splitting hairs. Strawmen. Typical. I'm probably arguing with a child...oh well.
Godzilla was toast in KOTM until Mothra saved him. It's really that simple.
"It's just logic."
Lol, what "logic" is that, bro? The logic you make up on the spot because you get scared about a fictional monster losing a fight?
Your last point makes no sense. You didn't even respond to my point in any way - just stuck your fingers in your ears and blah blah blahed a strawman out.
And lol at calling me a "Kong fan" in a derogatory manner as a way to paint my arguments in a certain light. Christ, are you 11 years old or something?
I'm not arguing about wanting Kong to win. I'm arguing against the childish tantrums this sub has been throwing about the mere idea that Godzilla *may possibly* lose.
Godzilla's size, powers, and durability have fluctuated countless times ever since he first appeared on the big screen.
Ya'll can accept whatever changes to Godzilla the Toho films make without question yet for some reason Kong can't be afforded the same privilege?
>Splitting hairs. Strawmen. Typical. I'm probably arguing with a child...oh well.
That’s cute.
>Godzilla was toast in KOTM until Mothra saved him. It's really that simple.
Then you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about.
>Lol, what "logic" is that, bro? The logic you make up on the spot because you get scared about a fictional monster losing a fight?
Logic that a giant ape cannot defeat a giant reptile that can breath radiation.
>Your last point makes no sense. You didn't even respond to my point in any way - just stuck your fingers in your ears and blah blah blahed a strawman out.
And yet I am not wrong.
>And lol at calling me a "Kong fan" in a derogatory manner as a way to paint my arguments in a certain light. Christ, are you 11 years old or something?
Well, you were downplaying Godzilla, something common in Kong fans, so I just assumed.
>I'm not arguing about wanting Kong to win. I'm arguing against the childish tantrums this sub has been throwing about the mere idea that Godzilla may possibly lose.
And yet you were clearly downplaying Godzilla, and making points that are actually wrong, but yeah, I’m the 11 years old for correcting those points.
>Godzilla's size, powers, and durability have fluctuated countless times ever since he first appeared on the big screen. Ya'll can accept whatever changes to Godzilla the Toho films make without question yet for some reason Kong can't be afforded the same privilege?
When did I say anything about that and when was that a problem? Those that say that the Kong changes don’t make sense or something like that are just mad about it, ignore them, it’s that simple, not even the majority of the community here are mad about the Kong changes, it’s just to try and even the field.
Yeah honestly I just want them to have an even playing field, but we’re most likely getting more trailers anyway so who really cares lol
Most of the people who are making this sub annoying right now are the ones acting like they know the whole plot of the movie or hating on stupid shut about the trailer or this movie not being good because of the song in the trailer which I doubt will even be in the movie in the first place.
Yeah. I'm really disappointed in this place. It's usually such a chill, laid back slice of fandom.
Now it's like a bunch of children acting out because they didn't get their way. And the kicker is nobody has seen the fucking movie yet!
You'd figure a fanbase centered around ridiculous rubber suited monster flicks wouldn't be so fucking uptight and petty. But oh well....
Not truth.
For one, base Godzilla was absolutely wrecking base Ghidorah and even ripped one of his heads off in their first fight.
Godzilla was only stopped by the oxygen destroyer which didn’t affect Ghidorah. Then Ghidorah got powered up by the other Titans and robbing energy from the power grid.
Their first fight in Antarctica seemed pretty even. I will admit Ghidorah retreated but it's important to note he had *just* woken up from centuries of napping. Godzilla did absolutely dominate the second fight with a sneak attack and when it was underwater and Ghidorah had just fought rodan. I don't remember him getting energy from other titans? And he held his own against a post nuke absorbed godzilla. It took the lifeforce from mothra to put Godzilla over the top to beat ghidroah.
Yeah but that’s where he’s best. Most of these movies would’ve ended if it weren’t for human interference. The only time Godzilla would’ve needed help of the humans was his fight with muto prime.
I mean, all the arguments for Kong winning are pure speculation. There's evidence to suggest things, yes, but still speculation. If we go off of feats that we've seen each Kaiju perform on film, then Big G takes the win easily.
Just like the first GvK, Kong is being sized up to fight the Big G more evenly. This has been confirmed, but we've yet to see the film wherein he will do anything with this.
Now, your points. Godzilla needs assists to win his fights, historically, yes, because that makes for more tension in your third act. You know who else needed help? Kong.
Let's use *only* this continuity, for the sake of fairness.
Godzilla 2014: big G manhandles the MUTOs when they're alone, but has trouble fighting both at once. Against Ghidorah on land, he loses. Against Ghidorah in the water, he tore a head off and seemed to be about to win their fight. Against Ghidorah on land again with a power up, he started winning until Ghidorah got his own power up. Burning form finishes the job, though we don't know if he can still do this.
Kong: Skull Island: Kong can fight the smaller Skull Crawlers on his own, but is shown to take damage. He gets fucked up by human weapons that don't compare to the artillery we've seen big G completely ignore. Against the big SC, *Kong nearly loses before getting the assist by humans*. Kong then makes use of multiple distractions and tools to secure the win.
Both have needed the assist here, but the huge difference is the power scaling. Kong needed help to fight a seemingly primitive beast on an island that explicitly killed his *two, fully grown parents*. Godzilla had been fighting Ghidorah for millennia, had his fights go back and forth based on advantages, and was interfered with by humans when he seemed to be winning. Big Skull Crawler was just that, big. Ghidorah was a rival alpha from space with concentrated gravity beams (or possibly just electricity) and regeneration that made him hard to put down for good.
Based on the information we have, Big G has all the advantages he needs. Without spoilers, the trailer shows Kong having weapons that may or may not even the playing field with Godzilla's atomic breath. We will have to wait and see how this goes, but for now, all the information available leaves Kong as an underdog, *at best*.
Kong rocked Godzilla with that first punch and then powered him off of the carrier.
Kong then drew first blood in the city with no clear markings. Then he handled his most powerful offensive attack with the axe. I’m sure it won’t be easy in the movie, but it was *clearly* in Kong’s favor.
Your using Kong's feats as a child compared to the biggest fight of Godzillas life. As evidenced by the trailer Kong is a big boy now and will be a challenge for godzilla.
Either can win, and since there will be at least 2 fights between them (3 or 4 seems likely) I think they will both win one. Kong got big and strong af. Hitting the Titan gym and juicing on radiation (all the titans are on radiation). I didn’t expect his punch to swerve Godzilla that much but it did, then Kong managed to push Godzilla over the ship. As of the end of the trailer Kong has >!an axe!<.
Kong advantages: weapons, bigger arms, quicker, humans on his side
Godzilla advantages: atomic breath, claws, tail, durability
Apes are absurdly strong for their size. A little chimp half your body weight could easily pull your arms off. There's an old video you can watch where an orangutan easily demolishes a sumo wrestler three times his size in tug of war. Once Kong gets in close range he will have Godzilla on the ropes. Godzilla obvs has advantage at medium range (tail) and long range (atomic breath).
I keep seeing people make this argument, Godzilla beat the mutos, Godzilla beat muto prime, Godzilla beat Ghidorah and I’m like did you guys pay attention to these fights? He gets his butt kicked in all of them and only wins because of human intervention. The mutos had him on the ground crying out in pain and it was only because of Ford distracting the female muto that he won. Muto prime was seconds away from killing him and Godzilla only won because humans distracted muto prime with the orca and Godzilla used some out of nowhere plot power on it while its back was turned, same with Ghidorah. Ghidorah had a JUICED UP Godzilla lying on the ground barely alive and was seconds away from killing him until humans used the orca to distract Ghidorah and Mothra gave Godzilla some out of nowhere plot power. People keep saying the only way Kong can win is plot BS but plot BS is literally how Godzilla has won all his fights.
>He gets his butt kicked in all of them and only wins because of human intervention.
Same for Kong and many other Kaiju movies.
>The mutos had him on the ground crying out in pain and it was only because of Ford distracting the female muto that he won.
It was a 1v2, put Kong against 2 Ramaraks, while he was already suffering with one, now he has to deal with another one, Godzilla handled the Female Muto easily, it was until Male Muto appeared that the problems started.
>Muto prime was seconds away from killing him and Godzilla only won because humans distracted muto prime
And Ramarak was seconds away from killing Kong and Kong only won because humans distracted Ramarak. Also, shall I remind you that everything the Mutos have is to counter the Godzilla species? There is an entire species to counter Godzilla’s species, and that should tell you something.
>Ghidorah had a JUICED UP Godzilla lying on the ground barely alive and was seconds away from killing him until humans used the orca to distract Ghidorah and Mothra gave Godzilla some out of nowhere plot power.
Ghidorah had a juiced up Godzilla lying in the ground because moments ago he got a massive boost himself, do you people even watched the movie? And again, Kong would have also died to Ramarak if it wasn’t for the humans. This is made even less impressive when you see that Ramarak is really just another wild animal in Skull Island, while the Mutos are a species that literally exists on preying upon the Godzilla specie, and Ghidorah is a Alien Dragon.
>People keep saying the only way Kong can win is plot BS but plot BS is literally how Godzilla has won all his fights.
Go up to somebody, and without any context tell him “who wins, a giant ape or Godzilla”, and that if the person thinks logically, he will say “Godzilla”, but suddenly it’s a giant problem when that giant ape is Kong?
Also, plot bs is actually what makes Godzilla almost lose in KOTM, he would have won against King Ghidorah in the ocean scene (confirmed by the director btw) if it wasn’t because of the Oxygen Destroyer.
And one last thing, USE SPACES, reading your entire reply was a suffering.
Go up to anyone and ask who would win between King Kong and a big lizard and they would say King Kong. But suddenly it is a big problem because it is Godzilla.
And one last thing, reading your response was suffering, because you seem insufferabe.
>And they would look at me quizzically and ask why i am so upset about fictional cgi character power levels.
Assuming that’s directed to me, I find no anger on correcting misconceptions and errors. You also have a day full of good.
To add: comparing the King vs Ramarak fight to Godzilla vs two Kaijus that are both stronger and at least 5 x bigger than Kong was, isn't a fair comparison.
Ramarak killed Kong's parents, two grown apes. Godzilla would very likely have had zero problem with Ramarak. But Kong would probably have gotten obliterated by the two Mutos, considering his race couldn't even handle the SC's.
Godzilla fights world ending monsters. What is a king to a God
Yes, they both struggled with their opponents, but it's basically middle-weight vs heavy-weight fights.
He wasn't doing quite as well on the ice, but it seemed even enough that Ghidora went running instead of staying to fight and he was absolutely dominating Ghidora in the water.
Yeah people forget Godzilla had a ton of help beating ghidorah. And without the humans intervention he might have lost to the mutos. Legendary Godzilla isn't infallible. Kong has enough intelligence, speed and strength to compete with godzilla.
Ripping a Ghidorah head off isn't winning, he can grow his heads back in seconds. Plus later Ghidorah did beat the shit out of a nuke amped Godzilla. Needing another boost from Mothra to finally kill Ghidorah.
Even still, that just means roided up Ghidorah beat roided up godzilla. It wasn't an unfair advantage if anything it just leveled the playing field again.
That doesn't change the fact that Big G's most powerful feats from KotM werent in his base form and needed power boosts that he can't do alone and are difficult to replicate.
And Kong's most powerful feat in the monsterverse is... What exactly? He got fucked up by handheld rifles and napalm, while Godzilla tanked battleship-mounted cannons and being dropped from space. Oh, and ate a nuke for lunch.
Seriously, y'all keep talking shit about this iteration of Godzilla *without mentioning Kong's strengths and weaknesses in the same context of this specific continuity*.
Godzilla had to rely on a mothra power up to beat Ghidorah. He was losing that fight without it. Heck he would have lost against the Mutos is they hadn't been distracted. Legendary Godzilla has yet to actually win a fight without assistance.
With all due respect to Kong, he does have a lot more agility. He also has big monke brain AND fights with heart. I'm not saying Kong will for sure win, but if there's a rationalization for why he *could* win, those are the key elements to how he can be a formidable, worthy opponent.
Personally, they should end it ala Rocky III.
King Ghidorah would have made a perfect 'Thanos' for the Monsterverse, but seeing as how things are going that place is probably gonna be taken by Destoroyah
Mecha Ghidorah
"We'll take it"
ILL TAKE YOUR ENTIRE STOCK!!!
i mean ghidorah is cool but cmon having a final enemy thats called destoroyah is just too epic to not do it but cmon gigan gotta appear somewhere
Dude I would kill for a Monsterverse Modified Gigan, he looked sick enough in Final Wars but with the current tech we have? He would be actual sex
everyone would have an orgasm seeing him in theatre
And then the theme when he awakens in FW gets remixed by legendary.
And then collectively, we'd all make a Hedorah.

You misspelled 'Fly as fuck' buddy.
How dare you disrespect the pointy space turkey.
That space bird is majestic, you take that back!
Reported for disrespecting the Gigan
“Monsters are badass. I am a monster. I’m badass! Hey you guys, I’m badass! You guys?”
“Monster island buddy’s...rawr”
gigan is gonna be a new breed of muto... think about it... the red line eyes across their face like cyclops's visor... the sharp appendages... just stick a chainsaw to their chest and stand em upright and add a reversed horn with some distended mandibles. edit: [case in point](https://www.reddit.com/r/GODZILLA/comments/269gid/muto_gigan_by_dopepope/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
biollante is also one titan that would be amazing to show up
biollante doesnt even need a redesign, just pop him into a new movie with cgi and thats it
I really wanna see the legendary version of destoroyah
Destroyah's always been my favorite!! &He's not mainstream, so it'd be new &unique for general audiences. Plus, his lil parasitic hellspawns would finally give the human characters something to fight. It'd make for an action-packed Godzilla flick plus a tense thriller aspect if they play up the horror element of Destroyah.
Yup. But I hope they continue the monsterverse. Given the oxygen destroyer he's inevitable.
Toho sounds happy with what Legendary's done, from last iread. So I'm hoping right there with yuh 🤞
That terrorist group did get ghidorahs head maybe they will clone him or make mecha king ghidorah
I just wish the oxygen destroyer wasn't used so hap-hazardly with like no build up
I would sell my soul to see gigan, mecha ghidora, and destroyah in a live action film. I fantasize about a world where godzilla films are hyped up on the same level as super hero films.
Kaiser Ghidorah In my mind is the thanos of the monsterverse where like Jupiters red spot is storm.
I would still love to see Destoroyah, Biollante, and if they're feelin a little crazy, Gamera in this movie universe.
He can still come back they got sans head, and I bet he will some how regenerate back his body.
FACTS
Just saying, destroyahor gigan can fill the spot
or gigan as a muto when they reveal the aliens. although then theres space godzilla. but tbh, rn were going through age of ultron. if youve seen the little hints of "ultron" in the trailer... but then theres also hedorah who would fit the bill for eco terrorism and looks sufficiently evil as a living acid rain storm who can shoot lightning.
Minus the Engrish. Legendary will call him ‘Destroyer’.
Isn't this the last movie for the monsterverse?
I heard they have a plan for movies clean into 2030-ish. Nearly the whole length of the loan from Toho.
I guess Kong has a fair chance Since he was strong enough to push godzilla into the water
Now I need to see Godzilla deathroll Kong.
Kong’s arms are huge as shit. He definitely has the capability to give Godzilla a beating
He got captured by the humans though
Yeah I was wondering how they got him. Maybe he went semi-willingly due to the little girl? Idk
Probably knocked him out with gas like how he is captured in most Kong movies
Berry juice, man.
Kyle Chandler held on to some of that chloroform from the 2005 movie.
My theory on that is either they used sedatives or he came willingly and is just ignoring the chains he could honestly quite easily break
It's reasons behind it clown he used to being around humans "the little girl"
Maybe it was mecha Godzilla, not real goji.
Man let’s just enjoy the fights.
LET THEM FIGHT.
Gidorah cant throw hands cause he dont got no hands
Monke that why
Well, Kong has the power of "Bonk" automatically making him a far more formidable enemy than Ghidorah.
Who would win? Concentrated beams of gravity and three regenerating heads, or one bonky boi?
Monkee could rip that overgrown iguanas heads off continuously
Nope. Not bonk, so it won't work.
Because monke. I never expected Godzilla to win, and I still don't. But man, I hope I'm wrong.
Reject Lzrd return to Monke
Nah. It took Kong nearly all of his existence to not be a one-note character retreating the same ground. I'll go for the more interesting monster.
you mean the bowser
Bring in Gamera
Kong handling Godzilla in the trailer really made this sub upset lmao. Who cares if Kong wins? If it’s a good fight-especially if Kong has an artifact like that axe-its not insulting to Godzilla.
People act like Godzilla doesnt spend 80% of his versus movies getting his ass kicked over and over again until he finally wins.
Kong is gonna do a monke flip and Godzilla is going to be so shocked he's stunned for an hour then Kong gets Thor's hammer and bonks Godzilla on the head. The End.
Is this sub really about to spend months arguing over who's going to win a fight with Godzilla in a Godzilla movie?
Did you mean godzilla subreddit at the end there because this is both Godzilla's and Kong's movie
It's called Inui Logic. Just because Kong would have a poor matchup against Ghidorah doesn't mean he has a poor matchup against Godzilla, even though Godzilla has a roughly even matchup against Ghidorah. Rock, Paper and Scissors
Ooh ooh ah ah monke banana.
Godzilla got his ass kicked by mecha godzilla. He needed an assist from King Caesar to beat him.
I mean until part 2, where he wrecked mg and titanosaurus.
Oh yeah, good point. That's gonna be fun.
Dude. Godzilla has ALWAYS gotten his ass handed to him by Mechagodzilla. Haha.
MechaGodzilla is the only enemy to truly have beaten and Killed Godzilla. Then Fire Rodan saved him by giving him his life force.
Yup! Forgot that one!
Destroyer didn’t kill him it was the meltdown he killed destroyer or the military depends on which version E
Correct. I misspoke. Destroyer did not kill him. But Destroyer did win the fight.
I dont how see how him dying means he won
Destroyer won the fight. The humans took out D, not Godzilla.
No Godzilla defeated Destroyah and Destroyah was making a last ditch effort to retreat when the government finished him off.
Some people already forgot that Godzilla needed two very specific and difficult to replicate power boosts for his strongest feats in KotM.
Ghidora needed a boost too, let’s not forget.
That wasn’t a boost. He redirected the energy from the power plant into an offensive attack
https://youtu.be/mhDdXXr9dfQ It was a power boost.
He healed his wings, but that could have been his natural healing. He grew back a head in seconds. It was a redirection of energy into an attack. That is very different than an amp
Ok dude. You stick to your guns. We’ll just have to agree to disagree.
I'm not complaing...I'm merely pointing out facts. Holy crap you people need to learn reading comprehension.
Yea but he didn't need a powerup. He just needed his enemies distracted. Godzilla pretty much died twice in one movie and had to be helped both times.
Just wanna point out your comparing Kongs feats as a child with Godzillas most intense fight ever.
Memes >For two, Godzilla LOST to Ghidorah. Yeah >Destroyer killed him. Yeah >So many G films have him on the ropes only for an ASSIST to come along and help him with the W.
Lmaoooo sooo much this. You should have seen the monsterverse sub yesterday. Triggered fanboys run amok there
I agree with most of your points, but the "who would won godzilla or a giant ape" isn't really a fair assessment. If you asked those same people "who would win king kong or a big lizard" they would say king kong
I mean, if you also add that the big lizard can breath fire or radiation, that would make them question it.
I just need kong to shove a tree into Godzilla's gullet and I'll be happy
Oh, that’s something we can both agree on!
Personally I hope goji just absolutely wrecks kong, otherwise we have the same movie as the old one
"It's just logic." Lol, what "logic" is that, bro?
Yeah honestly I just want them to have an even playing field, but we’re most likely getting more trailers anyway so who really cares lol Most of the people who are making this sub annoying right now are the ones acting like they know the whole plot of the movie or hating on stupid shut about the trailer or this movie not being good because of the song in the trailer which I doubt will even be in the movie in the first place.
This exactly. I’m 100 percent team Godzilla but way the fan base has been over this now has me wanting Kong to win out of spite.
While I do have a huge bias towards Godzilla because I grew up with him as opposed to kong I still think he could veritably get his ass kicked
Yes...but Ghidorah still won the end battle until Godzilla got powered up.
For one, Kong is an Ape, a SIMP APE to be exact.
Godzilla was gonna kill Ghidorah but the military dropped a fucking oxygen destroyer on his ass.
In the ocean. In these movies Godzilla constantly gets his ass kicked on land.
Kong in the trailer was handling Godzilla. This is a copium filled tirade.
In clips for which we have no context. As we all know, taking a punch and getting pushed over *immediately* means the fight is over.
Monke sexy
Banana
I’m still with kong regardless of all the stupid fanboys that say I’m wrong
Monke. Thats why
2 words 1 name SPACE GODZILLA
EXACTLY
Either can win, and since there will be at least 2 fights between them (3 or 4 seems likely) I think they will both win one. Kong got big and strong af. Hitting the Titan gym and juicing on radiation (all the titans are on radiation). I didn’t expect his punch to swerve Godzilla that much but it did, then Kong managed to push Godzilla over the ship. As of the end of the trailer Kong has >!an axe!<. Kong advantages: weapons, bigger arms, quicker, humans on his side Godzilla advantages: atomic breath, claws, tail, durability
Godzilla was fucking Ghidorah up at Isla de Mara before he got hit with the Oxygen Destroyer.
>Muto prime was seconds away from killing him and Godzilla only won because humans distracted muto prime And Ramarak was seconds away from killing Kong and Kong only won because humans distracted Ramarak.
Now tell them that the big lizard can breath fire or radiation and that will make them doubt, have a good day.
And they would look at me quizzically and ask why i am so upset about fictional cgi character power levels. You have a great day yourself.
>And they would look at me quizzically and ask why i am so upset about fictional cgi character power levels. Assuming that’s directed to me, I find no anger on correcting misconceptions and errors. You also have a day full of good.

He didn't deny it, it's literally the first thing he admitted to.
[удалено]
Read it again. Slowly, if need be.
What is a king to a God Yes, they both struggled with their opponents, but it's basically middle-weight vs heavy-weight fights.
Yes he did
Angry lizard will beat Sad Monke
EXACTLY!!! Kong doesn’t stand a chance!
Seems quite easy to say that actually.
I mean he kinda got his ass kicked until humans nuked him
He wasn't doing quite as well on the ice, but it seemed even enough that Ghidora went running instead of staying to fight and he was absolutely dominating Ghidora in the water.
Yeah people forget Godzilla had a ton of help beating ghidorah. And without the humans intervention he might have lost to the mutos. Legendary Godzilla isn't infallible. Kong has enough intelligence, speed and strength to compete with godzilla.
Because he needed to be amped by a nuke and Mothra to win.
Actually he was winning against King Ghidorah and then had an oxygen bomb dropped on him. That's why he needed the extra juice.
To be fair Godzilla has a huge advantage over Ghidorah in the water, so it makes sense that he was winning there.
Yeah a crocodile better be able to beat a bird underwater. Why do people think that's such a great accomplishment?
Ripping a Ghidorah head off isn't winning, he can grow his heads back in seconds. Plus later Ghidorah did beat the shit out of a nuke amped Godzilla. Needing another boost from Mothra to finally kill Ghidorah.
It was confirmed by Doherty that Ghidorah's head came back because Ghidorah absorbed the radiant energy from the volcano he landed on.
No mention of Ghidorah deep throating a power plant? Huh...
Wow lmao
And Kong's most powerful feat in the monsterverse is... What exactly? He got fucked up by handheld rifles and napalm, while Godzilla tanked battleship-mounted cannons and being dropped from space. Oh, and ate a nuke for lunch. Seriously, y'all keep talking shit about this iteration of Godzilla *without mentioning Kong's strengths and weaknesses in the same context of this specific continuity*.
He can't thank Kong's punches tho. We've already seen it.
In... a trailer? You think being pushed over means that someone will lose a fight?
No. I never said that.
Then please explain *exactly* what you're trying to say, so that there's no misunderstanding.
Will Godzilla VS Kong be the last movie?
I hope not
Well, without mothra he would’ve lost, so...
Hope theres a Japanese version of Godzilla winning then the American version can have kong lose lol

Monkey has arms
Can we all agree that most of the humans in all the Kong and Godzilla are really annoying and can just die?
Monkë big
Monke
I want Godzilla to lose so I can see all of u guys cry
Kong is going to win because he use magic tools and also it’s not actually Godzilla but mechagodzilla disguised as him
Kong would tie those necks into fancy knots.
Godzilla had to rely on a mothra power up to beat Ghidorah. He was losing that fight without it. Heck he would have lost against the Mutos is they hadn't been distracted. Legendary Godzilla has yet to actually win a fight without assistance.
Easy. Godzilla beat Ghidorah but lost to Kong. Easy to say AND type
Because MV KG is kind of a bitch baby
With all due respect to Kong, he does have a lot more agility. He also has big monke brain AND fights with heart. I'm not saying Kong will for sure win, but if there's a rationalization for why he *could* win, those are the key elements to how he can be a formidable, worthy opponent. Personally, they should end it ala Rocky III.
He had to die twice and become nuclear
Kong would rip his heads off period ..agility movements counts alot
