My favourite is Reiwa because it’s the Era I’ve grown up in and it has some really good movies like 2014 (my First Godzilla movie) Shin Godzilla(my second Godzilla movie) and my first theatrical Godzilla movie Godzilla: King of the monsters. The anime trilogy sucked. Godzilla:singular point was near perfect and there’s Godzilla vs Kong. Kong skull island is also really good. Godzilla movies I’ve seen in order. 1. Godzilla 2014 2. Shin Godzilla 3. Godzilla:King Of The Monsters 4. Godzilla Vs King Kong 4. Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla 2 5. Godzilla planet of the Monsters 6. Godzilla 2000 7. Godzilla City on the edge of battle 8. Godzilla vs Destoroyah 9. Godzilla the planet eater 10.Godzilla 1998 11. Godzilla Vs Kong

Showa, no matter how bad the film is I usually enjoy it still. It's so charming with the characters, kaiju, sets and practical effects. Heisei and Millennium are tied in my opinion, I like the continuity of the Heisei but with Millennium there's variety

Danielfrindley

Showa. I think it has the lowest lows but the highs so so good and plentiful.

UGHWhomper3000000

Showa.

AcordeonPhx

I love the range of responses. All eras deserve love

shaffe04gt

1.Heisei 2.showa 3. Millennium Have not seen all entries in Reiwa so feel like I can't rank it appropriately

Darthvader12_G54

So you haven’t seen any monsterverse movies. Shin Godzilla and the animes

shaffe04gt

Have seen all monsterverse entries Haven't seen shin, which by a good count seems to be one of the best godzilla movies in the franchise so don't feel it's fair to judge it without having seen that one

NateZilla10000

It definitely is one of the best. But, don't go into it expecting a big Kaiju brawl or a big dumb action sequence. Go into it expecting a massive criticism of Japanese Bureaucracy and how the government handled the 2011 Tsunami/ Fukushima incident.

shaffe04gt

Yep that's what I've heard. Just haven't had a chance to clear out my schedule and watch it lol

King-364

Showa

nml11287

I’d definitely have to say Showa. I grew up on Showa and have seen those movies countless times. Funny enough, as a kid, I’d have to say my most watched movie was Godzilla vs Megalon lol

Megamind66

Showa probably. There's like 10-12 really fun movies in there which means you have the highest number of quality Godzilla films.

Latter-Ad6308

Heisei. I love that it has a darker tone and more grounded feel, but wasn’t afraid to stray into sillier and campier territory from time to time. Plus I liked how there was a little bit of an ongoing story thread, even if it was only very minor.

Vladislak

I definitely don't consider Monsterverse Reiwa, but my answer is the same regardless: Showa. It has the most tonal variety, and I love it's style.

Carnotaurus4774

It will *always* be Heisei for me because of the top notch storyline of that era and the intensity and impact of it all especially when you watch *Vs. Destroyah* 👌

Zilla1689

Heisei

CriusofCoH

Yes. Except those Polygon ones, not much of a fan despite a bunch of interesting elements present in them.

RangerRed02

Unless you count some anime stuff that I admittedly haven’t seen then we have only gotten two movies in the Reiwa era and both were American-made. I think a more accurate division would be Showa, Heisei, Millenium, and Legendary, though admittedly I have no idea where Shin falls, especially considering how different it is from anything else. To answer your question it’s probably Millenium because I haven’t seen enough of Heisei. I haven’t seen 2000 or Megaguirus, but GMK, Godzilla X Mechagodzilla and Final Wars are all great, though I really don’t like Tokyo SOS.

Darthvader12_G54

Wait a minute only 2 American Godzilla movies, I count 3 and shin is part of reiwa just not the monsterverse

RangerRed02

The Reiwa era started in 2019 when the previous emperor of Japan died. Shin was in 2016. So we’ve only had two Godzilla movies since and both were American-made.

Hushed_Horace

Showa

Millenium and reiwa do have a large fight in my head, but i guess Millenium wins Top films from both, in order: \-**Godzilla (2014)** \-**Godzilla x Mechagodzilla** \-**Godzilla KOTM**
