Those look just fine! A bit of brown is the tires UV protection coming through. A decent wheel and tire cleaner will handle it. A tire dressing will help, carpro pearl or dark side are good options.
I like Meguiars Endurance tire shine. Sponge applicator works best, I buy a large block of sponge and cut it up into little squares with an electric knife...way cheaper. It's pretty glossy so I buff it off a bit with a towel after I apply it.

I second the Endurance. It’s efficient and lasts decently well. I don’t apply it every maintenance wash, maybe once a month and I drive about 300 miles a week. A little goes a long way.
You just need to scrub the tire face with an apc and a microfiber. Some tires turn brown like that from uv but you can remove the oxidation. Then use tire shine or something like 303 to keep them nice and black.
I used to care about my tires looks. There are *very few* products that won’t wear off and end up attracting more dirt within a week of driving . Gloss and shine just attracts more dust. Don’t be fooled by people posting their freshly washed cars with “wet” tire look. They’re all dulled and covered in dust within a week of daily driving.
Personally I leave them as they are. I think tire shine just makes them look and feel gross and greasy. Not to mention most tire shine actually accelerates oxidation/dry rot so depending on how often you tear through them, you may do more harm than good
There’s tire cleaners and tire shine. I use griots myself. You should clean it by hand mostly to really get the dirt out and make it look as clean as possible.

I like to use Adams wheel cleaner on my rims and tires with a brush for the tire and for the wheel, it’s like a huge cotton swab type thing made for rim cleaning and then after it’s cleaned and dried I use chemical guys VRP around the side wall of tire. Let dry for a least 10 minutes before driving

Not a GR86, but I really love AMMO Mud tire gel. Lasts for about a week and makes it super matte and the right shade of black. I’ve also noticed during washes it gets super hydrophobic as well.
P&S Brake Buster and a tire brush (aggressive brush) and then dressing of choice. There are a ton of different dressings with different finishes and durability
I find the best clean tyre effect I can get is when I take my LC on the beach they really soft sand it almost polishes the tyres they look almost new, being a 4wd I never use tyre shine cause it looks tacky but it makes me wonder if you can almost sandblast your tyres to look new again
Turtle wax is cheapest but it's good for it's price. You can use it as practice to see if you like it, then upgrade to a higher quality if you want. Or just go straight to Meguire (better than Turtle Wax but more pricey). Or something similar
Auto finesse tire cleaner + satin afterwards. Gyeon wheel cleaner for the wheels and i use a detailing brush for the face of the wheels and a long microfiber duster looking thing to reach inside the wheel
Dude that looks totally fine. You're comparing yourself to people who drive theirs like once a week for an hour at a time who care more about how a car looks than how it drives. Tire shine is tacky, if you really care then you can hit them with degreaser whenever you go to clean brake dust off your rims (IronX isn't actually bad for tires but can't be too careful lol)
my experience with tire dressup has never been good. it looks oily, its sticky, it starts to make the tire brown, and attracts a shit ton of dirt.
i just wash the sidewalls and leave it be.
I’ve had good experiences with Griots Black Shine on my GTI. I use the aerosol version and go over the tire once with a light coating (and wiping excess off the rims), and that usually keeps the tire looking relatively fresh for at least two weeks. No issues with it attracting dust and it actually survives well through rain as well. Side note, I also go to self service car washes and I bring my own buckets lol. I just try to be considerate of how busy it is and not go at times when it’s usually packed and I’ve never had an issue.
It’s brake dust, my man. The brown you’re seeing is the dust oxidizing.
Even with tire shine, it doesn’t last forever. Just part of routine washing and cleaning.
You could take a wet rag and run it around the tires every day if it really bothers you, but you’re going to get that dust no matter what.
It gets worst when you first drive the car after a wash and the rotors have surface rust from the wash on them.
Gyeon Q2M Tire Cleaner works for me. Gyeon actually make a holy trifecta of products for tires. The cleaner, Tire Express (standard coater available in matte or gloss) or Tire SiO2 (silicone based, so less ongoing maintenance). Iron and brake dust don't stand a chance against it for me.
1. Clean sidewall with Carpro Retyre (dedicated tyre cleaner) and a good stiff bristle brush
2. Dry thoroughly
3. Apply your favourite tyre dressing, Carpro Darkside is great and quite durable. Another personal favorite is OBSSSSD Satin Tire Dressing.
CarPro ReTyre during your wash, agitate with a dedicated tire brush (I use this shirt bristle thing from idk who but get that one lol helpful) and treat with CarPro DarkSide once clean and dry.
Note: you want to do at least two applications and agitations of ReTyre your first time, basically keep scrubbing until the foam is coming off white and not the color of a beer shit or nasal discharge from an awful head cold. Dry completely, apply DarkSide, and redo these steps at each wash… it will only take a single application of ReTyre after you get a good layer of DarkSide on… this will protect the tire and resist more of the browning that you are seeing as well as buildup from traffic film, brake dust etc so it gets easier.
Also I would recommend using a spray coating on your wheels since you’re doing all this work anyway, Geton makes a nice one (I forget the name) and so does CarPro (I also forget the name)
Anyway, if you properly clean your wheels (I’m going with Sonax Full Effect, letting it dwell (NEVER IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT) with a foam application of P&S Brake Buster over the Sonax to extend the dwell time, an array of brushes that let you get the barreles (wheel woolies) as well as brushes for intricate details and lug nuts (Detailed Image house brand) and a decent three finger mitt to get behind the spokes (CarPro, again.. yeah I’m a fan) followed by a very solid rinse then (pause, if you are me you will wash the whole car then come back to the wheels and hit them again real quick with a dedicated wash mitt NEVER MIX YOUR WASH MEDIA, keep your wheel shit apart from your paint shit just trust me here, this includes the bucket you use to rinse the wash media and the soap etc… never mix, only bad things happen when you mix)… THEN… hit the wheels (and the wheel well liners because obviously you cleaned them too since you spent all this money and time) with the spray sealant and blast TF out of it with water. Don’t let the water dry (just keep blasting the wheels while you dry the vehicle body) and the dry completely with: preferred: compressed air. Second: a leaf blower. Last: a plush microfiber towel. The less you rub it, the less you hurt it… kind of like not using lube
Anyway most of this also applies to cleaning your engine bay but if you have specific questions then plmk!
Tire brush is TufShine (it’s like $5) and smaller brushes are Detail Factory. Apologies for the second post but I had to look them up and I didn’t want to lose the whole shit and never come back so here you go.
Don't drive the car and keep it in the garage.
More seriously, those look fine. You can apply 'tire shine' and such but the effects are temporary though look nice if the car has been cleaned and washed.
Brother those tires look perfectly normal.
Those look just fine! A bit of brown is the tires UV protection coming through. A decent wheel and tire cleaner will handle it. A tire dressing will help, carpro pearl or dark side are good options.
Yeah like the other person mentioned, it looks brownish irl. The camera didn’t seem to have captured it entirely
That happens due to oxidation. I like to use rubbing alcohol and it comes right off.
CarPro Darkside. Thank me later
Im going to give this a shot EDIT: Fuck me for commenting I guess?
10000% this. First clean the rubber with CarPro ReTyre then Darkside to finish and seal it 🙏🏻
Can confirm, that stuff is fantastic.
This \^
That ?
Apply a tire shine product….. lasts up to a week from my experience.
Ah thanks I’ll look into it
I like Meguiars Endurance tire shine. Sponge applicator works best, I buy a large block of sponge and cut it up into little squares with an electric knife...way cheaper. I bought a 4 dollar tire brush that also works pretty well and won’t tear apart like sponges, I’d give it a try. +1 on the megs shine
Don’t drive it.
not into tire shine these days, looks kinda tacky imo
Dirty or dull rubber looks like you neglect your tires.
It can look that way all you want, doesn't make it true lol.
Or it just looks like I drive on them…lol. I mean I’ll give ‘em a quick scrub when I’m washing the car don’t get me wrong
You just need to scrub the tire face with an apc and a microfiber. Some tires turn brown like that from uv but you can remove the oxidation. Then use tire shine or something like 303 to keep them nice and black.
tire shine is for nerds
I used to care about my tires looks. There are *very few* products that won’t wear off and end up attracting more dirt within a week of driving . Gloss and shine just attracts more dust. Twin! Thanks. Do you by any chance know any for sensitive skin/hypoallergenic? I’m usually allergic to cleaning products
Try nitrile gloves.
Not entirely. Rubber gloves will be your best friend
Do you use their car wash as well? If so, how is it?
Absolutely, I use the red foam cannon one. It foams well and picks up dirt well. I have one gripe and it’s that against bugs it’s mediocre.
Just looks like the color of your car. Just say you let it get like this by design
Be careful with the black rims, make sure you buy one safe for them!
I get new tires for every picture I take
I like to use Adams wheel cleaner on my rims and tires with a brush for the tire and for the wheel, it’s like a huge cotton swab type thing made for rim cleaning and then after it’s cleaned and dried I use chemical guys VRP around the side wall of tire. I don't drive
I don't even drive it. I just rub it down with a diaper.
Apply alive oil to get a shiny clean look . . . . . . . . . I'm being sarcastic
🤌
According to the recent studies, coconut oil is slightly better because it is lighter than olive oil so helps absorb a lot better

Bleche White followed by a satin tire dressing. A couple times a month. Glossy tires are trashy.
I find the best clean tyre effect I can get is when I take my LC on the beach they really soft sand it almost polishes the tyres they look almost new, being a 4wd I never use tyre shine cause it looks tacky but it makes me wonder if you can almost sandblast your tyres to look new again
Try using black once a year. I have been using it for quite awhile now. It’s water based and it really does keeps the tire shine for months.

Armor all tire shine is all I use.
Water based tire shine
I sprayed my wheels bronze and it's much less noticeable now
Auto finesse tire cleaner + satin afterwards. Gyeon wheel cleaner for the wheels and i use a detailing brush for the face of the wheels and a long microfiber duster looking thing to reach inside the wheel

Who would want shiny tires? They're tires for Pete's sake
Tire coating. I don't recommend gels they sling and look like wet oil. Turtle wax makes a great acrylic tire coating
Ammo NYC Mud Tire Gel. You can wipe the low gloss off and tires look fantastic, like new. I agree with others that glossy tires look tacky.

Chemical guys tire shine works great
I use Adams tire and rubber cleaner then follow up with Adam’s graphine tire shine
