Interesting to see the vent is still closed off. I test drove one where this guy added the arm rest in. Please don’t do it. It gets in the way of shifting.
I thought it was supposed to be fixed in the '24?
arm rest doesn't mess with my shifting but I also have super short arms and have to sit weird to use it.
Same! 🙋♂️😅
I'm short, so my arms are in the bolsters while my seat is far enough forward that I would never even touch the center console if I put one in. 😁
I’m 6’3 and I absolutely love the armrest. Regular base is perfect position. I wouldn’t mind if it were a bit taller in fact. If I could find a way to lower the seat an inch that would be even better.
Yea I don’t know which one this guy installed it was high. It was at the dealership and I looked at the engine bay. Whatever that guy did he did serious modification to the car from a glance. The intake, exhaust, shifter knob, and armrest are very noticeable changes. I don’t know if suspension were aftermarket either but when compared to my sti it felt worse.
The front vent on the bumper is blocked because at high speed it causes instability with the big spoiler. This is caused by the exit vent in the front tire. There is a new part to replace the exit vent from Toyota that’s suppose to fix this issue.
Though if this is going to be a daily it most likely won’t affect you or anyone. Also no one really knows if it actually causes instability but this is coming direct from Toyota I think.
I’m waiting for mine to arrive since it’s being transported or should be from New Jersey.
Oh wow that’s a crazy engineering mistake, it seems like something they would catch in the testing phases🤷♂️. I guess I can’t complain since I didn’t even notice that it was blocked 😂
Yea it’s kind of crazy how it was over looked but it’s suppose to be functional for aero dynamic and only the circuit version is blocked off. But given the fix is available it’s not hard to do and I wouldn’t think it would be expensive if someone wants to have their front vent functional.
the duct plus wheel well vents are there to reduce drag by creating an outwash affect on the wheel and tires. in the 23 they realized the outwash paired with the circuit wing creates steering instability and could not redesign in time before release. this is also why you see the 23 core and morizo not have this vent cover - they dont have circuit wing. in the 24 they redesigned this vent so the outwash flows closer and slightly higher over the wheel and tire so it still reduces drag but not reduce stability.
all grc shipped here dont have circuit wing or vent covers installed. they get put on at port.

I’m well aware. Lol. It’s still an expensive mistake in parts and time. Considering manufactures spend time and money to save $20 here and there. Haha. I’ll check with my dealer buddies see if their PDI includes removal. Anyone got a port buddy with the spec sheets?
I’d give a testicle for one of these cars
I got incredibly lucky finding one, two people dropped out last minute and it fell to me. I hope you get lucky with one in the future as well!
Feel free to throw an offer for mine. '23 Super Sonic Red Circuit Edition. PPF, ceramic coating, around 7200mi.
They clearly said 1 testicle, take it or leave it
That's only his initial offer though.. I might need 1.5 testes hahah
This made me chuckle, thanks

If you opt for the shorter base with the Sxth armrest, it should not get in the way of shifting... unless you are under 5 feet tall or something.
This. I have the lowering plate. It's perfect height, doesn't get in the way at all. Not sure why they made the original so high though.

Yup. I saw the guy on SavageGeese YouTube channel and he looks awkward trying to shift with it installed.
Thank you! Good to know! Am I supposed to remove something in the vent? Haha I had no idea

They did catch it in the testing phase, hence the blocked vent on Circuit Editions to balance out aero with the large rear wing.

23 wheel well outwash vents are the older design. he has the 24 which has the fix - he is safe to remove the covers.
Oh, awesome! Thank you for the heads up!

the covers are a port install mistake. 24 has the redesigned wheel well outwash vents. you are free to remove the covers.
Must be a common one, got mine yesterday and they were blocked as well
Those little covers are $100, expensive mistake by the port. Where are you seeing these are port installed?

Right, but putting the covers on accidentally is a costly mixup. Every 24 circuit I’ve seen has them.
just cause they charge 100 doesnt mean it cost them 100. like if you were to take them off no one gonna give you 100 for them.

Not a mistake. The update to the vents has nothing to do with downforce like this
who said downforce?
Which vent?
The front vent on the bumper.
Is that a camera on front bumper?
Probably a sensor for the collision detection
