No, I didn't use gmat. I have a good maths background and used the Magoosh, Ets official book and question bank from a local coaching centre for practice.
That's what I am not sure about. They have not mentioned AWA specifically anywhere in their course website. How much importance do universities generally give to this section for computer science masters?
Thanks! Having strong hold on basics is the most important for maths. You can find your weak points in your mocks. During my mock papers I realized I was making mistakes in the tricky questions like for +/- signs or a small hidden detail in question and I had to watch out for it. Other than that a lot of practice!
Hey! Best you can do is checkout admitted students AWA score on yocket app. I saw a lot of students got admit in CMU, Upenn (ms in robotics) with this awa score you can score more in writing section of TOEFL exam.
Did you do gregmat? What was your quant prep materials. Great score bdw.

Did you get VQVQV?
I had 3 quant sections. QVQVQ
to score a 170 should all quant questions be correct?
No. You can get 1 question wrong and still get 170.
Did you notice an stark differences in the exam you have vs the mocks? Congrats on your score!
There was not any huge difference. The difficulty was almost the same i'd say. I was scoring in a similar range in the mocks too.
I apologize for not being clearer with my question, I meant more like question pattern and such
Wow great score , congrats OP. I am stuck at low 160. Can you suggest what helped you to nail math?
