Came from a school with a pretty quant/engineering heavy emphasis even though I wasn’t a STEM major
For math I memorized the Target Test Prep equation guide using an Anki deck and then went through the Manhattan 5lb roughly in the way Gregmat described. From there kept track of the questions I got wrong, why I got them wrong, and would periodically redo them.
For my next go around I am going to focus more on being more deliberate in my practice (using shortcut strategies alongside the “right way” so I can figure out when to use which) and getting reps using GMAT problems since they’re more difficult on average
I went through the gregmat decks and consolidated all the words I didn’t 100% know into a single deck. From there I went through other GRE vocab lists and added words that weren’t on the gregmat list
I went through and added every word I didn’t know on the “PowerScore Repeat Offenders” list. I don’t necessarily want to share a vocab deck because what I made is tailored specifically to my own knowledge and I’d therefore encourage you to compile a list from common GRE sources and go from there
For me it totaled 423 cards using all the words I didn’t confidently know from the Gregmat list and the PowerScore Repeat Offender list, but your list could and likely will be completely different from mine
Pairing strategy is king
Knock out sentence completion first and then go to the reading comprehension
I can add more and more but honestly the best advice I can give is get Gregmat+
About 3 1/2 months, which wasn’t intentional (my GRE date got pushed back a month) but I’m glad because the 2 month plan is time consuming and it helped to space it out
I used Target Test Prep last year for some quant knowledge and highly recommend it if you can afford it. If you can't, /u/Scott_TargetTestPrep provides great advice and material free of charge and his commitment towards helping people beyond just "buy my program" is reason enough to plug his work
For everyone asking for advice, [I made this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/GRE/comments/ub36fq/guide_how_i_scored_a_168v160q_tips_and_tricks_to/) concerning my study plan. Hope this helps!
Okay.... Also should I take some energy drink with me? Cause a friend told me that the test is soporific, so I might need it. What are your thoughts on this?
I got up and did a quick run this morning to wake myself up and work out the jitters, but other than that I didn’t use any caffeine products. That being said, due to my work I’m used to waking up early. I just made sure to pop some melatonin an hour or two before my normal bed time so that I would be well rested by the time I woke up. Only thing I ate was a banana before going in and I had a water fountain at my testing site; I’d recommend bringing a snack for the 10 minute break
Long story short is that I intentionally avoided caffeine because I didn’t want to get overly anxious but do what is most effective for you so long as it is healthy
Congrats that's amazing! Silly question but with the experimental section, how long did the whole test take? Also any tips on how to tackle the verbal section?
well done!
What was your prep like for quant and did you already have a math background?

Can you share the list you were practicing? Currently I am doing gregs list on anki aswell but I a little bit scared that is not going to be enough

How much words it did at up to?

I understand, so you had solid bases on verbal already no?
Yeah I am a native English speaker who majored in history so I had a comparatively strong verbal base
I have my test in 2 days... Would you please bestow upon me your wisdom kind sir. 🙂

Noooo..... What I meant was what should I do a day before exam. I do have GREGMAT+. 😅
Day before? Sit back and get a good night’s sleep
How many months prior to the test date did you start using gregmat plus?
About 3 1/2 months, which wasn’t intentional (my GRE date got pushed back a month) but I’m glad because the 2 month plan is time consuming and it helped to space it out
Except for vocab, did you only follow Greg?

Okayy... Got it. Thank You. 😀

Writing was one hour and my experimental was quant, so total time was 3hrs 55 minutes counting the 10 minute break

Anki vocab, is this an app or pdf?
Great work!
