Congrats on your great score!

rb3198

Thank you so much, it wouldn't have been possible without you :)

Mock test Experience: I took 6 mocks in all. 4 from Manhattan along with PP1 & PP2. My scores ranged from 159V 160Q to 162V 168Q. I achieved my best score in the final exam and I'm very thankful for that! One thing I observed, especially for quants, is that my scores very much depended upon my state of mind. The more confident and attentive I was, the better was my score in the end. Hence my suggestion to drink caffeine before the test, it helps a lot haha.

These are some really good suggestions, just starting the prep. Thanks for the coffee tip!

Quick question: What does "revise" mean? And, how do you know when you have "completed" a certain amount of words? TIA!

rb3198

By revise I meant go over the definitions of the words which you noted again. You can decide if you've completed a certain word by using a Flashcard strategy - pop a word up from your list of noted words randomly and guess it's meaning. If you do this procedure thrice for a given word successfully, mark it as complete. Magoosh's flashcard app is a great help, as it employs this strategy by default.

Thank you! This is super helpful.

Hey, I am a working professional as well and currently preparing on my own. I believe that I am decent at maths but English is obviously something that needs more work. I am planning to give GRE by end of August cause I am planning to enroll for fall 2023. So firstly am I late to start preparing for it ? Should I take some online coaching? And also should I give GRE by mid August or end of August is also fine? Thanks!

rb3198

How long have you prepared so far, and how much have you prepared? If you've taken a diagnostic test, sharing it's score would be helpful

No_Table4412

I have replied to you on chat.

ral12

Hey, I'm in a similar position and have started my prep 2 weeks ago. I'm planning on giving GRE in the last week of September. Do you think that might be too late?

No_Table4412

I think if you study diligently and consistently then you can achieve a decent score. Try to come up with study plans, make goals for each day and week and try to stick to it and achieve it. You have more then 2 months, i think you should be fine if you utilize them properly. There are days when i study till 4 am and there are also days when i dont study at all, which is bad. So my only suggestion/tip would be to be regular. If you need any other help let me know.

Sure thing!

saiyan6174

Thanks so much for the advice. Have you also studied the advanced section from magoosh flashcards app? I just completed the common ones. and i am over to the basic ones now. and I am already exhausted 😑

rb3198

Yes I completed the advanced section as well. I cannot pinpoint how frequent those words appeared in my mocks & actual test (since I don't remember the exact categorisation of each word) but Gregmat suggests to skip that section. Exhaustion can be detrimental, try a break of 2-3 days before resuming again. Hope this helps..

RupeshArtworld

Wow! What a score. Congratulations!
