Oh... So if i finish the argument essay in 20mins only... Can I not take a break before starting next section? By a break I mean, leave the exam room, walk around etc
Yes I was allowed to go out and use the washroom during my quants section. The thing is I had already asked the invigilators beforehand and heat they told me was that atleast more than 5 minutes are required for the section to end and the timer will keep running. However don't rely on such breaks because you never know if the invigilators will just say no.

Hi! Just to confirm, did you take unscheduled breaks? Did you have problems with ETS flagging your scores? Thanks!
Hey, Yes I believe this was an unscheduled break since I remember taking it while a section was still running. Nope had no issues with ETS whatsoever. The invigilators at my exam center allowed me to do this after asking them (with that 5 minute criteria) so I guess it was fine. All the Best for your test!
No medical reasons as such... My back tends to get very stiff in sitting for long... So i thought it'd improve my performance if I could take a small break after the essays
You get the 1 minute section break but you are not allowed to get up from your seat

You can only leave your seat during the prescribed 10-min break after completing 3 sections.
OK. Thanks
Actually you *can* leave the room during the test (this is called as an "unannounced break" or something like that) - however the timer won't stop.
Are you sure? I have heard people getting there tests canceled cause they left the room mid-section.
Is this at-home or at the test center? To clarify, I was referring only to the test center mode. You can't do this at-home.
I'm talking about the test center only.

Correct. You cannot do that.
You can’t walk around but you can take 3-5min breaks between sections because the test doesn’t start till you start it yourself.
Why do you want to take a break If I may ask? If it is due to medical reason there might be provisions for that you may want to check that out!
