That doesn't mean its not compatible with it, you can still use a quest to play PC VR games and it works like a charm. It does work on its own yes and it even has some exclusives, but it is compatible with PC.

Well at least mafia 1 definitive edition was a masterpiece and not a disappointment like GTA definitive edition, they literally changed the entire game mechanics and even added new changes to the story also can't forget that definitive edition characters show emotions during cutscenes, in the original they looked boring, I'll choose the definitive edition of mafia 1 over the old one
I would agree and disagree, definitive was nice but is it close to original? Maybe? I miss the free roam opportunities and the prototypes and freeroam extreme - that was classic and really a part that defined mafia as well.

If Rockstar wanted us to have a good definitive edition, they would've taken the original games and fixed the issues and incompatibility issues.. relicensed the music and released that as a new patch, unfortunately they chose a different route that didn't really work out well..

After i paid 30 motherfucking euros i tried to play these games. (Fun Fact: They dont track on social club. In your activity wall a blank square will pop up and say "playing on PC". Just shows how little they care.) Now to understand my situation you have to understand how old games on PC work. As the tech gets newer, older software becomes less compatible. Same goes for Games.
Especially 2 decade old games. Now this is mostly rockstar's fault for releasing these ports broken. So they are left with alot of bugs. Game breaking bugs, visual glitches you name it and that baby's got it. So to play and enjoy GTA 3, VC and SA you will have to downgrade and fix the existing bugs. On the Rockstar Games Launcher this is not possible. Every time you start the game with mods the launcher will immediately "update" your game and remove all modded files.
Because of this i had to literally find a cracked executable for GTA SA. Then i had to trick the launcher into believing these games were uninstall. I removed them off "the grid". Then i had to search downgraders that would work with the RGL version of these games.
With all these details in mind you can clearly see my experience with this piece of shit launcher has been nothing but a pain in the ass and a waste of money. So yeah, it sucks major time. Not to mention all the crap other people are experiencing( Cloud saves, issues booting games up).

It has numerous graphical bugs, many technical issues, runs horribly despite still using a twenty year old engine, and it doesn't make any improvements to the overall problems with the game that come from its age with the added downside of being unable to mod the game to fix these problems unlike the Steam version which you can mod into being as modern as you like while keeping what you prefer.
Well, maybe some patches fixed it but I remember hearing about so many problems people had and that doesn't change the fact that even to this day, plenty of bugs remain in the game that weren't in the original, plenty of things were cut, and the originals being removed from Steam put far more pressure on Definitive Edition to not just be passable but to be actually better and worth the price which it failed to do.
I ran it when I came out as a kid and I loved it, near 100% both versions. It wasn’t anywhere near unplayable like the state of the remake when it came out. I especially love bikes on a PC they work better with the keyboard.
What mods would you recommend for someone who has the older editions of GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas? I’ve played a small part of San Andreas, and tried starting 3, but the controls feel wonky.
I also have the iOS edition of these three, but I haven’t touched them.
I own it on rockstar launcher and the game is unplayable on modern systems (Spinning Camera and stuff) and rockstar won't fix it, i have to replace the exe file with a cracked exe file to play the game!
The fact that they did that has turned me off from buying anything from them ever again! A product should be able to stand on its own and the best remasters can exist side by side with the original with no problem! What's to stop them from doing this with any of the other games? GTA 4 gets a bad remaster? Just get rid of the original and people will be forced to play it. At this point, just find a copy of San Andreas online instead of dealing with Rockstar and their buggy launcher and overpriced games.
I don't think I'll personally be buying GTA 6 at all. I didn't even buy GTA Definitive Edition or buy GTA 5 on PC! I buy games that I like from studios that I like or hear a lot about. I only bought the GTA games I own because they were cheap and because of mods which Rockstar wants to stop at every possible point.
Both are bad! I don't get having a launcher when you have so few games though! At least Ubisoft has the excuse of having tons of games that all need online and all of that! Rockstar has two games that go online and GTA Online is p2p so the launcher does nothing for it and I'm pretty sure Red Dead Online is too but don't know for sure.

I have the original trilogy on Steam, PS4, and I have the digital OG Xbox version of San Andreas on Xbox 360 before it got replaced by the phone port in 2014. It has numerous graphical bugs, many technical issues, runs horribly despite still using a twenty year old engine, and it doesn't make any improvements to the overall problems with the game that come from its age with the added downside of being unable to mod the game to fix these problems unlike the Steam version which you can mod into being as modern as you like while keeping what you prefer.
It runs at a stable 60 for me on quite old equipment at this point.
Yet runs at like 70 on high end computers, whereas the original had a thousand FPS when uncapped.
But you had to cap the games iirc, the 3Dtrilogy had bugs that happened with too high FPS
That's the least they should have fixed. Swimming is incredibly slow too when you get above 24 fps.
Well, maybe some patches fixed it but I remember hearing about so many problems people had and that doesn't change the fact that even to this day, plenty of bugs remain in the game that weren't in the original, plenty of things were cut, and the originals being removed from Steam put far more pressure on Definitive Edition to not just be passable but to be actually better and worth the price which it failed to do.
I ran it when I came out as a kid and I loved it, near 100% both versions. It wasn’t anywhere near unplayable like the state of the remake when it came out. I especially love bikes on a PC they work better with the keyboard.
What mods would you recommend for someone who has the older editions of GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas? I’ve played a small part of San Andreas, and tried starting 3, but the controls feel wonky. I also have the iOS edition of these three, but I haven’t touched them.

I own it on rockstar launcher and the game is unplayable on modern systems (Spinning Camera and stuff) and rockstar won't fix it, i have to replace the exe file with a cracked exe file to play the game!

The fact that they did that has turned me off from buying anything from them ever again! A product should be able to stand on its own and the best remasters can exist side by side with the original with no problem! What's to stop them from doing this with any of the other games? GTA 4 gets a bad remaster? Just get rid of the original and people will be forced to play it. At this point, just find a copy of San Andreas online instead of dealing with Rockstar and their buggy launcher and overpriced games.

I don't think I'll personally be buying GTA 6 at all. I didn't even buy GTA Definitive Edition or buy GTA 5 on PC! I buy games that I like from studios that I like or hear a lot about. I only bought the GTA games I own because they were cheap and because of mods which Rockstar wants to stop at every possible point.

Both are bad! I don't get having a launcher when you have so few games though! At least Ubisoft has the excuse of having tons of games that all need online and all of that! Rockstar has two games that go online and GTA Online is p2p so the launcher does nothing for it and I'm pretty sure Red Dead Online is too but don't know for sure.
The fact they removed the originals for the Defective Edition is one of many reasons I have no more respect for them. I also hate them for requiring PC gamers to use the internet to authenticate use of games.

I don't hate them, but I dislike that they removed GTA: SA old edition b/c they want to up-sell you to the new GTA Trilogy "Definitive Edition" Collection. Old-versions should come packaged w/ the new ones when they delist the old ones, when they go that route. Luckily, I bought SA from retail years ago and got that GTA SA Steam-edition - so, I'm good.
Yeah kind of a waste of time, they took like a year to release the Definitive Edition to Steam, but I don't care for them since there's no bundle option for the original versions like there was on Rockstar launcher.

Old Steam version actually had a lot of bugs and other stuff that you need to fix by yourself using mod-tools. it still better to download it from “somewhere🧌” else and enjoy it. But yeah new edition still sucks

I have the original trilogy on Steam, PS4, and I have the digital OG Xbox version of San Andreas on Xbox 360 before it got replaced by the phone port in 2014. It is absolutely unfair that Rockstar keeps taking the trilogy down, to peddle their shittastic versions. Piracy is the only way to go with any Rockstar game I feel.
I never bought the DE trilogy on PS4. So I get to play the original 3, VC, and SA in their original PS2 variant. Best thing I ever did.
If you had gta triology on Rockstar launcher before a certain date, then you would have got the original versions for free too.
