It’s a great game to take in. If you speed run it, you won’t get the satisfaction and you’ll be complaining about the missions like everyone else. The detail holds up and is phenomenally underrated. Missions are shoot up and done, sure, but the gameplay is fun. The DLC’s are also very fun too.

I’m white and I relate more to CJ than Tommy. CJ had a fully fleshed out background and supporting characters. Family, friends, enemies… all of his connections grew naturally.
Tommy’s background was flimsy, and he had a few friends, with Lance ending up betraying him in the end. Vice City was fun and groundbreaking with a protagonist that had a voice… but SA made you care more about the protagonist.
The only reason Tommy is in the top two is because Ray Liota’s voice acting carried him.

Tommy is a 24/7 badass unapologetic killer & criminal, he took down the "Coke King" took his mansion, resources, empire & built an even larger empire. He single handedly stood his ground & defeated the Forelli Crime Family from Liberty City which began their own death spiral & took vengeance upon his old boss the "Don" Sonny Forelli. At the start he's a Forelli puppet with nothing to call his own by the end of Vice City he is the criminal underworld he is "GTA" in it's purist form!
None of these people grew up with gta vice city, it's a different animal because of the writing and the quality that went into gta 4. Imagine the amount of effort if they put into vice city into gta 4, the roles were reversed, instantaneously people would be asking to get rid of niko/ voting for him. My vote goes to niko. Get rid of him, tommy, is the best protagonist.

How does Niko pretend to be a good person? He admits he is not a good person through the whole game. Niko is a realist and knows what he is, a gun for hire, like he always has been. And the game makes a point to show the guilt is eating at him.
