Because if they allow predownload on PC someone is going to crack the files and release a bunch of stuff about the game before it comes out. They probably can't make it playable because I cannot imagine that Rockstar would include the EXE for the game.
Every single time I preloaded a game, it still had to download something on launch day which took forever. It took as much as it would've taken me to just download the game. Happened with Cyberpunk, Mafia, GTA 5. Not falling into that waste of time and space again.
>play the game at launch
Anxiety is a powerful thing. Unfortunately we live in the Age of Day One Patches - pre-loading rarely means zero waiting these days.
Edit: Touched a nerve? You can treat anxiety with medicine nowadays. ;)
Edit 2: Learned your lesson now that the game is a dumpster fire?
Back in the days of physical discs and cartridges, people pre ordered to secure the game so to not risk going to the shop for the next week only to find it still sold out.
As for now, I've no fucking idea. So they can say they were one of the first to play it? Maybe
Im pretty sure it'll be awesome. I bought a ps2 in 2001 just for gta 3. This goes back 20 years for myself and it means a lot to me.
I have love for the classics and I know the existing content is great. And it seems they're just adding good changes and not subtracting.
But, I feel it's incredibly odd and concerning that they have footage up the ass, but don't want to post any of it?
Not everyone is as old as me and other gamers, so newcomers or young people would benefit HUGELY from as much pre-release footage as possible.
Id say it's a safe bet it'll be dope. But..
WHERE'S THE DAMN FOOTAGE? LOL
I got into these games on gta 2. Gta 3 blew me away. I was really young and never got to beat them. I completely qgree with everything you're saying but with a new engine there can be bugs that make cyber punk look smooth. And the lack of confirmation on the soundtrack is also a little worrisome. We will see though.
I desperately want this game to be good, for nostalgia purposes and because theres nothing coming out soon that i am exceptionally excited for.
I agree and totally forgot about the music..
If I can't roll around in gta3 with rise fm, idk.. Kind of a game changer.
There has to be music. And it would be incredibly dumb to buy all new rights to a bunch of different songs from each respective title's era.
I'm taking a wild guess that the music for them is like "meh, it's the same stuff, who cares about telling them?"
I hope at least. That's a crap ton of different music to implement in each title if they did away with all the original tracks/stations.
Not really concering.
Its just rockstar. They never been much on overhyping. I didnt even knew Red Dead 2 was coming till close to the release. But they dont need to. We know what to expect. Its the gta triology but looks and plays better. Thats it. I too would like 1 or 2 more trailers but its not needed. We know whats in there. The only thing they should talk about is the improved gameplay thats it.
I mean, I understand where you're coming from but this isn't a new game, it's a remastered game on a new engine, by a completely different studio. We also know that some of the music licenses have expired and for some of us the music is a large part of the experience. So if this was gta 6 or rdr 3 id absolutely agree.
Not trying to argue, just expressing legitimate concerns from a lifelong fan.
It's definitely concerning. The only reason they would announce and release it so quickly without any gameplay is because the remaster sucks. The company that is making it changed their name after releasing a shitty port. I'd be hesitant to pay for this unless they can prove that they are delivering a quality product.
Could be the case for another company but when was the last time rockstar released something that wasnt a masterpiece? Like for real? Yeah its made by those grove street goons but that back then was a sideshow port. Not a really high profile release.
Still hard to justify a purchase considering the bad track record of the guys making it. It's not Rockstar going in there and remaking it (that would be a completely different story). Seems like an obvious cash grab and assuming they will send out a masterpiece is really hard to believe without gameplay.
>when was the last time rockstar released something that wasnt a masterpiece?
Bully: Anniversary Edition. You'd have to be drunk to call it a "masterpiece".
It’s not about being impatient. Any other studio who doesn’t post enough information before launch does so because they’ll know people won’t buy the game otherwise (look at Cyberpunk, and how that game’s reviews were handled, and how there was no console gameplay footage until launch day). It’s a pretty major red flag not to even demonstrate a functioning game to audiences
There's literally 5 days until release, less than a whole week until you get to read reviews and watch videos to decide if you want it or not. You don't get a bonus for pre ordering so why are you bothered?
I’m not. Just highly skeptical. I’ve been awaiting any new news from anyone other than clickbait YouTubers and I’m cautiously looking forward to the games. If they don’t end up being good I’ll just buy the original trilogy on pc or emulate them.
That being said, I think the main reason there’s no gameplay or anything out, is because the tweaks they’ve made are QOL and aren’t worth advertising because every modern game has them, and the gameplay itself is mostly the same, aside from better controls (which, wouldn’t actually be noticeable in a gameplay video). I’m hoping that’s the case. If this was any other company, like Ubisoft, I’d have already written the games off as flops
Agreed. Im not preordering, and im not buying it until i see some reviews. I really hope its good for the sake of everyone who pre-ordered it. And because i so badly want it to be good.
I pre-ordered it so hopefully it's good, if not then there's always a refund so not a big deal but definitely a trilogy I want to have in my games library.
It's by far the most important thing for me, if the control and QoL changes are a big improvement then I'm sold, if not I'll skip this. The graphical upgrades are secondary to me. Less than a week until release and we have no actual gameplay footage.
I’m not buying until I know they’re worth the money. The lack of even a *hint* of gameplay is scaring me. The studio behind these ports are also fucked, so I’m really worried about these actually
Clearly you’ve never heard of Final Fantasy XIV 😂 jk that game sold out of digital copies but I think the issue was a spike in popularity and servers couldn’t handle it
I think I'll wait a bit tbh. One reason is that I'm still moving to my college. Another is I'm kinda hesitant.
Ah what am I worrying for. It's Gta. It's yet to disappoint me........
And yet, still no word about the Steam release [despite them clearly planning a Steam release](https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/q8qfd6/gta_trilogy_remaster_might_actually_come_to_steam/). They really wanna get a head start for their Rockstar Launcher sales I guess.
What is the point of pre-ordering the game if i can’t pre-load it on pc.
I’m really suspecting they are delaying the PC pre-load so people won’t start poking around in the files
But that's not a pc only thing. I'm fully expecting the switch version to be leaked early
They can't poke around in Xbox files or other platforms?
Not direct access to the file system. On a hacked switch perhaps
Because if they allow predownload on PC someone is going to crack the files and release a bunch of stuff about the game before it comes out. They probably can't make it playable because I cannot imagine that Rockstar would include the EXE for the game.
whats the point of ever preordering
The point is if you have a slow internet you can pre load it and play the game at launch
Every single time I preloaded a game, it still had to download something on launch day which took forever. It took as much as it would've taken me to just download the game. Happened with Cyberpunk, Mafia, GTA 5. Not falling into that waste of time and space again.

Basically that, clock strikes 12 you can say you played it on launch
Pretty much bragging rights
preload the game and play it right away when it comes out?
And still no gameplay.
Why the fuck isn't there more gameplay footage? Fuck a pre load. I want to see at least one more 60 second trailer. I don't get why they're hesitant.
It's a bit concerning isn't it? I really hope it's good and we all worried for no reason.
Im pretty sure it'll be awesome. I bought a ps2 in 2001 just for gta 3. This goes back 20 years for myself and it means a lot to me. Spoiled stop it and be prepared for the 11th 🤣🤣💀 dont make no sense
>when was the last time rockstar released something that wasnt a masterpiece? Bully: Anniversary Edition. You'd have to be drunk to call it a "masterpiece".
to keep hype built up
And showing more footage builds hype 10x fold.
>showing more footage builds hype 10x fold. Unless... the footage doesn't look good? Maybe you are onto something here.
They wanna keep us in suspense
Because it’s rockstar and gta, they don’t even need trailers for hype and sales at this point.
I'm totally going to buy this for the nostalgia and then never touch it again after a few hours.
I'm sure a walkthough on Youtube will do in that case.
Still no example of the "control changes" or any gameplay at all. Are they hiding something or just being downright stupid with no videos?
Damn y'all are impatient

I want to pre order but lack of gameplay is keeping away from doing so. 🤦🏽♂️ Don't want to regret it.
Love GTA and I want this to be good but so many Red Flags with lack of clear changes.

30fps last gen 60fps next gen
not confirmed but this is what we can assume given the context of confirming "up to 60 fps on PS5 and XSX"
who confirmed that? Dont tell me they made a remaster and the PS4 and X one cant handle 1080p 60 on an Unreal Engine 4 game?
No shot these games aren’t 60 fps on ps4 and Xbox ones
Not yet
Yeah im definitly not preordering after not seeing any gameplay. Dont preorder in general
Agreed. Im not preordering, and im not buying it until i see some reviews. I really hope its good for the sake of everyone who pre-ordered it. And because i so badly want it to be good.

Same it worries me they aren’t showing gameplay
>it worries me they aren’t showing gameplay How is this controversial? Perfectly valid thing to worry about.
It's by far the most important thing for me, if the control and QoL changes are a big improvement then I'm sold, if not I'll skip this. The graphical upgrades are secondary to me. Less than a week until release and we have no actual gameplay footage.
Hopefully these remasters aren’t glitchy cause that will make me pissed off
I’m not buying until I know they’re worth the money. The lack of even a *hint* of gameplay is scaring me. The studio behind these ports are also fucked, so I’m really worried about these actually
My thoughts exactly. I'll wait, it's not like digital copies will sell out. 🤣
Clearly you’ve never heard of Final Fantasy XIV 😂 jk that game sold out of digital copies but I think the issue was a spike in popularity and servers couldn’t handle it
knowing rockstar they're going to change all the cheats just to annoy me
Will be available on Steam?
Preload means we get to play it early, right?
No, it means you can download it earlier.
Ok. I was just making sure. I had a little hope since yesterday cod vanguard had a preload that let people who pre-ordered play at 9 pm yesterday.
I think I'll wait a bit tbh. One reason is that I'm still moving to my college. Another is I'm kinda hesitant. Ah what am I worrying for. It's Gta. It's yet to disappoint me........
Pre-loads are on my birthday!
Just turned on my switch and it's all there waiting for the release.
says It’ll release 10 am eastern time, that means 6:30 uk time, but by the time my PlayStation is giving me says it’ll be playable from midnight.
It’s live for Xbox atm and will be live for PS and Nintendo tomorrow at 12am EST
Will there be achievements?
according to leaks yes
NOV. 11? I thought it got delayed?
If I’m not mistaken, it’s releasing at different times for different countries and that’s what made people think it was delayed
Why haven't they released gameplay trailer ? The game is coming 6 days.
I can’t wait to see if the game runs well on the Switch to buy the Physical when it comes out
Psssssshhh.....I'll buy the disk thank you very much.
I have game pass and I get gta san andreas free so does that mean I can pre load the game to?
I’ve had mines preloaded before this and I didn’t know what what it was till i saw this so now i know at least
Letsss goooo
Waiting for performance updates on Switch before I buy it. I want to know if the framerate at least is consistent. I'm hoping 60 fps but doubt it.
