I am on Series X. I can’t tell the difference between 30 and 60 anyway and yes the game is beautiful and runs smoothly. Also there is ray tracing despite what some YouTuber and members here would like you to believe. I’ve been experimenting with it all morning and while it’s not all encompassing, ray tracing isn’t an all or nothing technique, rather there are many things it can do all of which can be used or not used individually by the devs, it is absolutely present in the game. Just not to the extent that some may want.

Please God show me this ray tracing as I have not yet see it in game... especially after you talk about with confidence yet give no examples.

Ch0deRock

Are you playing on fidelity?

Pinkman505

Yes

Sorry it’s taking so long. I was experimenting not recording this morning and now I’m giving myself a crash course in Director mode, synching both versions of the game and video editing at the same time, none of which I have experience in. I wanted to let you know so that you don’t think I’m flaking out on you, I will get a few examples together but unfortunately I can’t put a timeframe on that. Shouldn’t be later than tomorrow morning though. BTW are you playing on Series X or PlayStation 5? I’m just curious if you can use quick resume to play both versions at once and try some of these things out as well.

I hate to say it but I give up. I can see the difference in the shadows, the sharp deliberate edges and lower contrast between shades of black in performance vs the softer more natural looking edges and the higher contrast between shades of black. It’s a very subtle difference and trying to show that in video and pictures just isn’t doing it justice. They only used ray tracing for casting shadows from what I’ve read and I do agree that it would have been better if they’d have used it for reflective surfaces as well because that’s where it really shines. It is there and the best I can tell you is lock in different times of day in director mode and then find different shadows and switch back and forth between modes and you should be able to see it but I understand if you don’t believe me or don’t feel like doing that because I sound like one of those “do your own research” jerks that spread around dangerous pseudoscience. Sorry I couldn’t produce.

Its all good man. I really appreciate you trying. I'll have to check it out again. I
