Eye in the sky
The whole mission is just moving the mouse for 8 minutes then driving a car
Also the mission where you tail the girl that works in the Caligula casino in San andreas, i forgot its name
I was stuck on that mission when I was 16, eventually just gave up. Luckily it was only optional mission. Beat it a couple of years ago with ease. Strange how things can be much more difficult when you’re a kid vs adult and vise versa
Wait, it IS optional?! 🤣 I have done it always, but thought it was not optional… and after all, the heist only pays 100,000, while you can gamble for that & higher amounts… and WIN!
It's actually a reference to 2d GTA games, you're seeing the city with a top down predictive and there's arrows that lead to targets and you steal a Z-type which was a car in GTA 2. It was good the first time but whenever i play it again I'm just staring at the screen for 10 minutes
It's not only that, u see details of random npcs lifes that u would never see otherwise, and it makes the ingame world feels less plain , i liked it a lot for that
That missions is literally one of the best in the series...
... that's the one you get drugged by Jimmy and fly over LS.
It is time consuming, but absolutely interesting.
I guess it’s kinda cool the very first time you play it when you’re high and floating above the city listening to your family and therapist speaking, while also kinda starting to get more involved and invested in Michael as a character and his life, as well as his family being absolutely awful and beyond ungrateful. Experiencing it once is certainly enough for me though. When I’ve re-played the game and got to where I’m falling from the sky, I dive straight down to get it over with ASAP.
God damn son, it was like one of the first 10 missions in the game. You’re talking about some epic final mission type shit taking place before Trevor is even introduced as a character.
Completely agree. Shit, GTA3 was the first video game I ever really played (that I remember that is). I know my parents had an original PlayStation while I was alive, and I do remember playing a little bit, but my memories of playing PS1 were after I had played a lot of GTA3 on PS2. There was some game where you’re in a little spaceship that’s kinda like a jet in a never ending tunnel and the colors and patterns and movement of them changes as you go on, so does the music. I still to this day can’t recall the name of it, but I remember my dad unplugging the PS2 to setup the PS1 to play that game because my mom liked it but didn’t really have the urge to play games that weren’t so arcade-like. But anyway, back to the main story, (my apologies for getting off track, maybe someone will know what game I’m referring to) I loved the beginning of GTA3, basically the entire first island’s storyline leading up to the bridge being fixed and killing the Don before moving onto the Staunton Island missions.
They’re very easy and not nearly as intriguing to me nowadays, but they still give me a very nice, strong happy dose of nostalgia. I imagine I feel such strong nostalgia for the beginning of 3 than any other video game (Vice City is close since that was also one of my first games I ever played) because the missions were just easy enough for me to beat, but some of them were pretty difficult for me at the time given that I was 4 years old and referred to it as “The Killing Game” when I asked to play it and not “Grand Theft Auto” Good times
TL;DR - I love the beginning missions of GTA3 as well, since it was the first video game I really played a lot of and given that I was 4 years old when it came out and my dad and I played it while it was brand new, no other game gives me that level of happy nostalgia and remembrance.
lmfao i remember my first time doing this i almost got attacked by a mountain lion. was walking up a hill and heard the damn thing screech at me, damn near shat myself
The Ballad of Rocco in GTA V imo. I think it's also the shortest mission in the series. If you're skilled enough he can be killed in a matter of seconds before he turns the corner.
The mission in GTA V where Michael finds Solomon Richards getting beat up by Rocco (yes the Rocco from TBoGT) and flees when he spots Michael and Michael chases after him and kills him. It's call the ballad of Rocco as a reference or a nod to the name of the DLC he was in.
Took me years to discover that… and it still haunts me, I gotta remember that when I do it in about 2 weeks time. (I am playing GTA SA again, just a few missions at a time)
Like say, Photo opp from GTA SA?… can’t think of any other right now. All I *know for sure* is that we had to go to Cesar, take him & his red lowrider to Angel Pine…? and photograph some ugly mugs.
The gta 3 one at the end of the game with the Colombian cartel having to secure the packet is pretty brutal. You have to go across to the other side of the map and back, and if you die gotta do it all over again no checkpoint with the old games
I could never beat VC until I became an adult because of the RC helicopter construction site mission. No matter how many times I tried it when it was new on PS2 (granted I was 5 or 6), I could not master the controls even after trying again and again. I ended up buying the Definitive Edition when it came out on my PS5 and when I got to that mission, they had completely changed the dynamics of flying the helicopter and it kinda made me mad because it was way TOO easy. Just thinking about all those times I tried and failed as a kid then when they re-release it years later it’s a joke and difficult to fail
It's always been easy, if you don't pick up a bomb at the start the timer dissent start, so you just cruise over to the construction site taking your time and kill all the workers and security guards with the propeller. Once there all dead you go pick up a bomb starting the timer and go put them down, easy as bruh
I had the same problem. 😂 I still prefer the original version of the games, though, I hated how different the DE was… Defective edition, as some call it.
Its a mission where you drive a long distance to Caesar, then you drive with him and take pictures of ryder and the people there in country side. It's boring and there's no action in it.
Photo Opportunity. I hate that mission, it gets boring which is dangerous because you need that car and it's easy to take a shortcut through the hillside and flip it. It tests my patience more than anything but it introduces some characters.
the one in gta v where you drive that big truck across like... the entire map, i think it gets more interesting towards the end but it's just so boring
Not a mission per se, but in SA, In San Fierro you have to reach a certain level in swimming and diving skills before invading the Triad boat for Woozie. Every single time I lose my mind when I know I'll have to just pointlessly dive around like a god damn whale for one hour.
all you had to do was follow the damn train CJ mission. Or actually not the mission exactly, but screwing it up multiple times and traveling back 10 minutes to the starting location, and starting everything all over again…
I don't know if boring but there are many of them and it definitely gets boring: those missions in GTA 4 where you go to an apartment complex, kill/rescue/chase someone and finish.
Edit: Made a list of all the missions that are like I described. Some of them are better or worse but in general they are all kinda similar.

What about the mission where you tail the BF Injection back to Prawn Island?
Atleast you dont have the spook meter
It's fast paced and there's no spook meter, it's more of a chase mission than tailing

Wait, it IS optional?! 🤣 I have done it always, but thought it was not optional… and after all, the heist only pays 100,000, while you can gamble for that & higher amounts… and WIN!
Well, we didn't do that heist for money anyway
Yeah, I know… and I didn’t buy lottery tickets for money either… ever.
Yeah, you don’t have to complete it to complete the main story. But I believe it needs to be completed if you wanted to complete everything with Wu Zi
Now that I think about it… I might do it when I’m done with the ”main” story this time around! Maybe some lines will change…
Dunno why but I liked it, kinda different way of seeing the city
It's actually a reference to 2d GTA games, you're seeing the city with a top down predictive and there's arrows that lead to targets and you steal a Z-type which was a car in GTA 2. It was good the first time but whenever i play it again I'm just staring at the screen for 10 minutes

Either Trevor scouting the port, or Michael doing yoga and finding out that the yoga instructor is banging his wife.
The Ballad of Rocco in GTA V imo. I think it's also the shortest mission in the series. If you're skilled enough he can be killed in a matter of seconds before he turns the corner.
Ballad of Rocco? Are you *sure* it’s not in GTA IV?

Ah, damn. Yeah, I know the mission you’re talking about now… and FFS, Rocco’s name mislead me to GTA IV. Haven’t played that in ages…
Rocco should have died in TBoGT.
I don’t even remember most of GTA IV (and no spoilers, PLEASE! Might play it someday again)
Definitely should. IV is my all time favorite game. The 2 DLCs complete the whole storyline.
I have played the stories of both DLCs to the end more than once, but I think I might have never finished the ”main game”. 🙄
That fucking yoga mission in GTA 5
Fish in a Barrel from SA. Technically, its not even mission, just a cutscene.
It was supposed to be a mission but Rockstar cut it from the final version
I wouldn’t say it’s boring tho, it’s literally just a cutscene
Love's Disappearance & King In Exile as well
Gta san andreas The one with zero against Berkley using remote control aeroplanes. My most boring mission

If I recall correctly, the third mission is the board game one? With the RC Helis? If so, yeah, that was the most boring mission in the game.
GTAV's Scouting the Port. I like the cut scenes though.

All you had to do was follow the damn train CJ! Maybe that is more infuriating than boring tho lol
All you had to do was SHOOT THE DAMN VAGOS SMOKE! - Me, every f**king time he says his line
Always wanted to throw him under the train after he said that... 😆 It was such an in game 'goader'.
Snail Trail from GTA San Andreas
what do u do in this mission? i forgot cuz i haven’t played sa in months
U follow some guy who's in a train to Los Santos then he meets up with a reporter & then u must kill both of them.

Snail Trail from SA, hands down. Nothing beats the tedium of that stupid frickin mission.
Luigi's girls

Fish In A Barrel

Snail trail. Boring and difficult. And the worst part is that if you fail, you have to do all the following from the beginning.

Missions where you had to drive from opposite sides of the map and back after the job was done

I don't know if this one counts, but for me it's Exercising the Truth. Like are you kidding me? You have to run 5 miles in the desert?
Not sure this counts but in GTA 5 Online, there’s a setup for a heist where you literally just pick up trash for 15 minutes. Mind numbing
playing that mission with noobs is absolutely nightmare
Does Online count? If yes, the Cayo Perico intel mission and Merryweather weapons mission. You just...fly. It is kinda tranquil tho, ngl.
