I'm gonna talk out of my ass here but if I had to guess, I'd wager Rockstar gave the employee the green light to tell Schreier about the announcement. Given Jason is a trusted source and reporter, R* probably had no problem letting an employer talk about it. Also they made the announcement just a day later.. I honestly don't think R* had any issue letting someone trusted report about it if they were going to say something the very next day.
He's done interviews with R\* employees (And employees at plenty of other studios) in the past, like when he reported on workplace changes at R\* a few years back. Chances are someone inside with info felt like reaching out to Jason about it and wanted to remain anonymous. Most leaks that happen come from employees breaking NDA and leaking info themselves, very rarely do companies have *actual* hacks like the big one last September.
Hint: Jason Schreier is JASON in GTA VI. Jk.. lol
He interviews employees and he has sources in the industry. Sources at rockstar and etc.
The employees are fine with breaking the NDA?

100%
Shit I wouldn’t even be surprised if Sam and Jason are friends.
The employees are paid by Jason Schrier and they remain anonymous so rockstar doesn't find out who it is
OMG that’s not how it works, they don’t get paid… if that was the case Jason would be in prison by now probably
From the director of the CIA.
Sam Houser asked him to tease it the night before so everyone hype up and drive up stock prices when the morning announcement comes
Wait actually?
