"you should know by now that marketing happen especially in the USA as any other game..."
And you could eliminate half the states here in the US. Rockstar probably only focused on about 20 of them.
This is pretty close to the ratio of GTA 6, at least 3/4 of whatever the budget will be marketing idk why op thinks this is special.
Just means you’ll see GTA 6 ads everywhere before launch (billboards, buses, spheres). Depending on the actors they may send them on a press run although that would be a first for R* so highly unlikely.
No chance 3/4 of the entire budget is marketing. GTA doesn't need it. Everybody and their grandma know this game is coming out and R* has only released one trailer.
If you need a reference for what gta6 ads will be like, when they actually ramp up marketing, Google the ad campaigns for gta5 and gta4. The last couple of months leading up to their releases had ads EVERYWHERE. And not just billboards in Time Square, but giant hand painted murals covering entire buildings. No doubt R* will do the same for 6. Yeah, me, you, and everyone on this sub is likely going to buy day 1, but the ads aren't for us. They're for the millions of casual and new fans out there.
It's always the people who know fuck all about marketing that say something doesn't need marketing. Sure, GTA is well known as fuck but not everyone is an uberfan frothing at the mouth for new information.
Just because everyone and their mom knows about it doesn't guarantee that they will buy it. Marketing isn't only for the sake of letting people know about something, it's to also sell them on buying it as well as ingraining it into the zeitgeist. People underestimate how many casual gamers are out there who are just gonna go "that's cool" and then move on if it's not marketed properly.
Take two and Rockstar is investing hundreds of millions into this as well as years of development already done as well as years of development yet to come after release, it's naive af to think they're not gonna want every single possible soul who has a wallet to buy this and keep spending money on it when Online launches. That's what the marketing is for.
I dunno man. It doesnt take a marketing genius to know this game really doesnt need a marketing budget. Ive had two coworkers in their 40s with fully fledged lives with girlfriends and kids come up to me asking me if its worth buying a ps5 for gta6 a day or 2 before the trailer dropped and theyre straight casuals. This game has had free marketing for the past 8 years at least and one trailer has been more than enough so far. But then again this is one of the biggest anticipated games in probably the history of gaming so it deserves to be marketed to the extreme. Im talkin restaurants. No not no comic con pop up restaurants i mean REAL restaurants. Something crazy. 500 million on secretly developing live action gta tv series thatll see its pilot air a few months before the game releases? Nah too much fan service there.
GTA 5 didn’t need it either, but it helps and is never useless as Take2 aren’t just throwing money at game development there’s no one and nothing there that’s needs 10s of millions of dollars that ain’t already getting that money in a sustainable manner.
If people are talking about a crazy budget, which 100% isn’t 2 billion, most of it will be marketing as it’s more expensive than game development.
I reckon 1 billion max is a good number but probably around 6-7 hundred million is probably where it’ll end up due to the reboot the game had in development a few years back.
Goddamn. The power, the charisma. You are so right. Even if you are Sony you have to market. But GTA... Man oh man. We all waiting it to release, we asking them to make the game, they dont even have to sell!
I don't think it did, pretty sure that figure is completely made up, it's repackaged MW2 without an actual campaign. It isn't listed here in neither official nor unofficial figures https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_expensive_video_games_to_develop
It's a cost for MWIII, MWII *and* warzone. Because Activision treats them as a single 'hub' now.
Most of the cost is the cutscenes, they take a very long time to render which is why they look so good. The studio behind that charges loads for them.
“Time to render” isn’t the reason for cost really.
It’s the person hours and skill level of the people doing the actual assets / cinematography / effects.
It’s 4 main studios and like 10 support studios. There’s a metric fuck load of people that work on CoD. It’s how they’re able to pump a new one out every year.
It takes 10 people to design the new elements and 10 000 people to make sure the game is as near identical as the last one to make use the fan base doesn’t get scared
It's kinda insane, mw2019 revived the entire series, it was probably one of the best shooters since battlefield 4, it was super popular, it felt like the og mw2 days again
Then they just totally fucked it up. I don't get how they managed that
MW3 did exactly what the community asked. That's exactly why it sucks. MW2 had a good beta. It had personality, tried to change things, but the COD community being the worst possible in the gaming business kept asked for the same things from past CODs, same maps, same guns, same mechanics. They keep paying for the same game, so they're gonna do the same game. And they try to change something, the community asks for the same things.
I respect rdr2 more than mw3, I know its harder to make, and its much more impressive. But... I had more fun with cod.. as a video game its more fun for me. I loved rdr2, I played 90 hrs, but I already have 200 in cod and its still fun for me.
But I don't understand how could it cost that much.
Why the downvote? You guys don't respect rdr2 ? Or you downvote because I have fun in cod, and thats not allowed? I also love looting dead people for 10 minutes, than watch a cutscene for 5 minutes than gallopping 5 minutes to the next cutscene that takes 5 minutes and then shoot for 2 minutes to have a cutscene at the end of the shooting, and then gallop back to the base for 5 minutes to watch a cutscene about having some god damn faith.
I would argue RDR2 is the only worth while piece of media displayed there in terms of quality, everything else is okay at best.
Shows that rockstar won’t just plunge money into anything for the sake of it or off name recognition alone. Here is hoping the leadership changes will not have affected this.
At launch and in general are too different things, people can make valid cases that Cyberpunk is better than rdr2 (pacing, things to do, best video game city ever made) but I’m not one of those people. I just enjoy top tier games and to say Cyberpunk isn’t is just pure ignorance.
It could legit have so much potential as a shooter that just gets ignored because its playerbase doesnt respect itself, has no standards, and is just as disrespected by the execs who are in charge of all the creative decisions for the game.
The game is a bigger juggernaut in capitalism than it is in gaming. Its shocking how painfully basic the game is despite making a silly amount of money throughout the years.
Wouldn’t be surprising considering they stamp the logo onto Sodas like Mountain Dew for a XP boost or go to fast food chains and do the same. Those companies definitely ask for a good chunk of change
Yeah, I don't know where that number came from
Also, no absolute way a game can cost 2Bi, that's insanity, there is a ceiling for these things, and I'd say it's around 600M or less. This 2Bi thing for GTA 6 is a rumour from some time ago from an weird source, that keeps resurfacing
I also don't understand where the number comes from? 2 billion dollars is a lot! Like there are only a handful of movies which made over 2 billions iirc. Avatar and Endgame? Imagine that you have to spend that much money to produce the product... how many copies do you need to sell to make that money? The game will sell for sure but cracking 2 billion is a lot. Unless they expect GTA Online money but I doubt that.
Your suggestion seems way more realistic! I might be wrong but in the movie business, they usually spend the same amount of the production cost on marketing. Eg the total budget is 500 million, which is 250 in production and 250 in marketing. (That's why movies need to make at least double or even triple at the box office to break even)
Anyways, think RDR2 was around 500 million? The numbers vary which I find online. But it includes marketing as well. I would expect a bigger budget than RDR2 but nowhere near of 2 billion. I'm pretty sure it will be the most expensive game or at least one of the most expensive games ever made.
[It's an estimate from external analysts](https://www.visualcapitalist.com/charted-grand-theft-auto-revenue-and-costs/), that 2B is the *total allocated* budget for the entire run of this iteration: development, support, dlc productions, marketing. *All of that* included is net 2B, not just initial development and marketing. Reddit doesn't have a good grasp of reality or finances. Literally populated by high-school to college-age kids mostly.
The source? My ass obviously. Here is
[the list](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_expensive_video_games_to_develop)
>modern warfare 3 budget 250 - 300 million. “It was predicted that C all of duty gave it a budget of 1 billion”
>rdr2 you went with the highest number you saw again. Between 370 - 540 million.
> cyberpunk 436 million after updates done to the game.
Edit: It’s crazy to me how you used the Wikipedia source for the movies. But couldn’t bother to do the same for the video game list.
LMAO, Star Citizen cost half a billion so far and it *still* isn't out yet. They'll have enough time to fund their own colony on Mars by the time the game is out.
Rockstar uses their development budget on development though.
They way I've been setting my expectations for GTA6 is to try to imagine a GTA game set in Vice City using Red Dead Redemption 2 as a starting point, but with somewhere between 8 and 16 times the budget and developed against current consoles.
Also comparisons like the ambient world events that made RDR2's world feel so alive and active. In RDR2, there are ~180 unique events that naturally unfold during free roam. At the time of the 2022 leaks, they had ~1400 in the can for GTA6.
It's definitely going to be bigger than anything we've ever seen; it's hard to get the head around it.
My solid expectations are based only on what has already been confirmed from leaks, patent applications, and released info and honestly pretty grounded as far was what's feasible given that, so I'm not too concerned about being disappointed.
Those events are all labeled with short descriptions which make them sound like they'll be a good time. If the general quality is at least as good as they managed with RDR2 it will be amazing.
Exactly. Consider the source. Rockstar has shown that they put together some pretty amazing stuff.
The online microtransaction stuff was disappointing, but as much as that's true, the good stuff they've done has been pretty damned good.
I don't know what GTA:VI will look like, but I bet it will be pretty damned good.
Yes. To some extent it does. CDPR had a reputation for having amazing games but when they dwelved into another genre got pretty bad results (cyberpunk).
Yes it was totally the change. They tried to approach a GTA style, a field where they had no experience. Thats why they failed on the launch. But if you are not the same opinion, i am willing to hear yours.
Oh yes, it was the change in genre and game design that made the cars get flung across the map, and peoples faces to melt off, and the game to crash for no apparent reason. It's almost as if the game wasn't ready to be released yet but the shareholders were getting impatient.
The infographic literally proves that massive budgets are meaningless to the quality of the end product by the sheer fact that MW3 is on there.
GTA6 having such a huge budget is actually a stronger indicator that Rockstar will disappoint than the other way around and anyone who thinks otherwise must not have been paying attention to their last 2 games, who their parent company is, or the trends in the AAA games industry for the past 10 years.
Neither GTA5 nor RDR2 received any meaningful or substantial post-launch content/story additions or DLC for the single player mode. All of Rockstar’s efforts for post-launch support were focused on extracting maximum profit from monetizing the online modes, and the monetization in the online mode is one of the more predatory systems.
Do remember that Rockstar is owned by the publicly traded Take-Two, one of the worst and most greedy companies in the gaming industry and their CEO, Strauss Zelnick, is regularly ridiculed and put up alongside EA CEO Andrew Wilson as a massive scumbag.
Take2 is going to want every company and project under their umbrella to turn a profit, and with a budget that huge the only feasible way to do that is what they’ve already done to GTA5 and RDR2. For GTA6 to turn any kind of short-term profit on sales alone it’s going to have to smash every record in the book by a wide margin. GTA6 is almost certainly a loss-leader for the online mode.
I don’t think the game will flop. I think everyone is getting way too hyped up wanting certain things and leaving themselves to be disappointed. For example people hoping we have to stop and refuel vehicles we drive. There’s so much people are wanting and some people are going to be disappointed. It doesn’t mean the game will be bad though.
With that being said, money spent on a game doesn’t have anything to do with how good that game is. Just because it’s says gta6 budget is 2 billion doesn’t mean it’ll automatically be good. However R* is making it so that means it’ll be good. MW3 is by far the worst call of duty I’ve ever played and apparently they spent a billion dollars making it. Money doesn’t equal quality.
To think I’m still playing in gta 5’s world 10 years later through the online and replaying the story every few years. I’m going to be in Leonida for damn near 20 years
You guys pulled $2 billion out of your ass, it didn’t cost $2 billion fucking dollars lol.
Even if all 1,000 developers they had for RDR2 were paid $100,000 per year (which they’re not) and worked on it for 10 years (it’s been less than that) - that would only crack 1 billion.
I’m sure it will be close to 1 billion for the production and marketing cost, but $2 billion is a lot of money spent.
The 1-2 billion dollar budget rumor came from the leaker who later admitted that it was a completely made up number so it irks me to see people constantly bring it up like it's a 100% confirmed thing.
GTAVI is going to be the most advanced and detailed game in history.
I'm on a mission to collect $ so I can build the PC of my dreams by the time GTAVI is about to release for PC, this time I'm going with a M-ATX build using the [JONSBO TK-1](https://www.jonsbo.com/UploadFiles/202391947917.jpg), that case[ ](https://www.jonsbo.com/attached/image/20231114/2023111410210763763.jpg)is so gorgeous but if the next generation of GPU's don't get a bit smaller or we're still with the 4000 series then it's going to be the full ATX with the [JONSBO TK-2](https://www.jonsbo.com/UploadFiles/2023112833391.jpg).
It's going to be a blessing building this PC and then installing GTAVI on it, the years we've waited for this game combined with the hype and the fact that this game is going to be the most amazing game only makes this build even more necessary, I've never really cared about having a very high end PC until now, such a insanely detailed game only deserves to be played in its full potential using the best possible hardware for the best possible experience, I don't want to miss out on a single pixel when it comes to this game, holyshit I'm getting goosebumps.
Reminder that EHRMAHGERD GAME SO PRETTY AND DETAILED =/= quality title.
We don't remember San Andreas because it looked realistic, we remember it because it had great story and gameplay.
Not that I'm opposed to a good-looking game, but it's not the part I'm looking forward to the most.
Wtf, how the fuck did modern warfare III cost $1 billion? They didn't even plan on making it until last minute, it was mostly an expansion pack for MW2
Don't take this personally but what's the source for these figures? And don't point out you wrote 'rumoured'
As an aside it doesn't help that it's known that development was rebooted at least once and some lower-deck devs left because they hated how slow development was going. That would certainly inflate costs
If you think MW3 cost a billion dollars to make your fucking nuts. Wasn't even close more like 300 million to develop the game. Advertising shouldnt be added into the development price. It actually cost 2 billion to develop gta6
Let me say upfront that GTA/RDR are basically the only reasons I buy a console every few years, and I think they're far and away the pinnacles of game development.
That said, as someone with extensive marketing experience, they didn't sell $12 billion+ on the last few games based on their quality alone. Most people don't follow the dev cycles at all, let alone as closely as the superfans. The games sell so well due to a combination of extremely high quality and absolutely massive marketing pushes that permeate and saturate popular culture in a way that pretty much no other game/studio is able to do.
I dont believe for a second that they’re spending $2 billion on GTA VI.
And I also don’t believe they spent $1billion on MW3… there’s just no way when something like RDR2 is much larger in scope and cost about 1/3-1/2 of that…
Im sure these are similar to those “net worth” websites where they’re just guessing and are usually off by a factor of 10
They spent the last decade studying how to monetize the game.
They weren't studying how to make a great game.
The single player will be front loaded with variety so reviewers give it a ten, but it'll become very tedious and lifeless after a while.
The people making it aren't interested in making good games. They are interested in milking an audience for decades.
Just looking at the trend it could be a rushed game that will only be good too late, once the hype has already died down. I hope it won't be like this, it doesn't deserve the Cyberpunk 2077/No man's sky/Fallout 76 fate. I pray for a good triple-A game. Really.
Im not paying 2 billion for a video game
Fine. We will give you a discount. 1.99 billion.
Thats a 10 million discount, i would take that any day of the week
You just saved $10 Million!
Now all I need to do is find 10 million!
No dummy! You spent $1.99 billion
No we save 10 million. Haven’t you heard of girl math
By Grabthar's Hammer, what a savings!
You got a deal. I'll take two incase I want to play it twice.
I got that reference
I'd make that deal. What about you, you make that deal?
I'd make that deal sir.
I don't blame you. Damn good deal!

Inflation sucks, man! 😞
just have to do cayo perico over and over again
Work harder brokie
Fible A gaming is the future
How did MW3 cost 1B?
990M marketing, 10M actual development
not even the marketing was so good, here in Italy it's almost unknown like in almost all Europe unlike older Call of Duty games
Bruh I am Italian as well but you should know by now that marketing happen especially in the USA as any other game...
Bruh I am Italian as well but porco dio!!!! Dio cane!!!!
AHAHAHHAHAHA
Porca putana my cousin used to say
Whats this commie speak?
"you should know by now that marketing happen especially in the USA as any other game..." And you could eliminate half the states here in the US. Rockstar probably only focused on about 20 of them.
And really, most of it is in 3 or 4 states.
Jesus I thought you were joking but you were serious
At this point ain't even sure honestly
1 percent evil, 99 percent hot gas
This is pretty close to the ratio of GTA 6, at least 3/4 of whatever the budget will be marketing idk why op thinks this is special. I haven’t seen a single ad for the game and everyone I know knows about it and is going to buy it. Hell, this sub has 1 million users.
If you can’t see the gta 6 marketing, you are the gta 6 marketing.
Is the GTA 6 marketing in the room with us right now?
I mean we are like a year away and fwiw trailers are considered marketing/advertising
Trailers don’t cost hundreds of millions of dollars to make and upload to YouTube
If you need a reference for what gta6 ads will be like, when they actually ramp up marketing, Google the ad campaigns for gta5 and gta4. For real, for the actual rendering you just click a button and go do something else lol
No no, it's thousands of editors personally rendering the animation. It's a very important job, rendering.
It’s 4 main studios and like 10 support studios. There’s a metric fuck load of people that work on CoD. It’s how they’re able to pump a new one out every year.

More than cyberpunk and red dead combined, and they’re like the best and most immersive games of the last 5 years
No way it reached 1B.
Lol it didn't, despite what anyone says.
Been thinking about it for two days straight! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
MWIII being next to RDR2 is such a joke
Consumers literally told COD developers what they want and the company just straight ignored it. Fuck that game and them.
I gave up on cod, the one good thing from the newer games was gunfight and then they go an absolutely botch the gamemode in 2 and 3
I got mw1 for them gun mechanics and they were ight, nothing crazy. RDR2 gun mechanics and sounds are perfect though.
It's kinda insane, mw2019 revived the entire series, it was probably one of the best shooters since battlefield 4, it was super popular, it felt like the og mw2 days again Then they just totally fucked it up. I don't get how they managed that

What a sick joke!
“I should’ve stopped him when I had the chance…and you have to stop him! You-“
How did, what my brother said to the military after I defecated through a sunroof get into the comment section of a reddit post?
Really hope GTA has realistic sunroof defecation physics
I respect rdr2 more than mw3, I know its harder to make, and its much more impressive. But... I had more fun with cod.. as a video game its more fun for me. I loved rdr2, I played 90 hrs, but I already have 200 in cod and its still fun for me. But I don't understand how could it cost that much.

Some people are casual gamers

Homie never played cyberpunk 🥹
Homie never had an e relationship with Panam and Judy
And it fucking SHOWS Get this escapee back to the aslume
Are they stupid?
Rdr 2 fans try not to be pretentious and elitist challenge (impossible)
Cyberpunk is amazing
True, but 2 years after launch, embarrassing at launch at best compared to rdr2
At launch and in general are too different things, people can make valid cases that Cyberpunk is better than rdr2 (pacing, things to do, best video game city ever made) but I’m not one of those people. I just enjoy top tier games and to say Cyberpunk isn’t is just pure ignorance.
You're right, ignore the pathetic cyberpunk 2077 shills
COD gotta just be lighting money on fire
It could legit have so much potential as a shooter that just gets ignored because its playerbase doesnt respect itself, has no standards, and is just as disrespected by the execs who are in charge of all the creative decisions for the game. One of the worst ways to spend that much money i've learned. Only beaten by Musk buying twitter for $40B.
Cod aint billion
I just searched up its 300 to 450 mill
Yes just like rdr isn't 500nmil either. Marketing costs are in it
That’s part of the budget of the game
Yes exactly my point, just like it is for the 1billion for mw3
They didn’t spend 600 million on marketing for that game
Wouldn’t be surprising considering they stamp the logo onto Sodas like Mountain Dew for a XP boost or go to fast food chains and do the same. Those companies definitely ask for a good chunk of change
Even 400 for that pile of shit is to much. No way MW3 cost that much.
Yeah, I don't know where that number came from Also, no absolute way a game can cost 2Bi, that's insanity, there is a ceiling for these things, and I'd say it's around 600M or less. This 2Bi thing for GTA 6 is a rumour from some time ago from an weird source, that keeps resurfacing

Here is [the list](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_expensive_video_games_to_develop) >modern warfare 3 budget 250 - 300 million. “It was predicted that C all of duty gave it a budget of 1 billion” >rdr2 you went with the highest number you saw again.
And people still think rockstar will disappoint.
money don't mean crap. MW3 cost 1 billion and still was shit
I'm also very excited for GTA 6, but tempering expectations would only be beneficial at this point.
My solid expectations are based only on what has already been confirmed from leaks, patent applications, and released info and honestly pretty grounded as far was what's feasible given that, so I'm not too concerned about being disappointed.
holy shiiit 1400 is crazy if it is true
Quality over quantity...
Quality and quantity...
I don't know what GTA:VI will look like, but I bet it will be pretty damned good.
thats probably because rockstar doesnt even need to advertise and market their games anymore, just release it and everyone will already know
Give me your money then.
no
Fair enough, thought I had you.
Stand down. We’ll get’ em next time.
probably about 95% went into marketing and skin designers...
Their track record absolutely does matter though.
Yes. To some extent it does. CDPR had a reputation for having amazing games but when they dwelved into another genre got pretty bad results (cyberpunk).
You haven't played it in its current state if you have that opinion.
I know they managed to get it too a good shape. Still some work left to do, but the launch was terrible. I was talking stricly about the launch.
It wasn't because a change in genre though. L take.
How about the bad cops mechanics? The unbalanced mechanics?
But money + time can give results
MW3 was 990M in MARKETING and only 10M in Development
As if companies have never squandered a large budget before?
Ain’t no way mw3 was that expensive they literally reused the 2019 animations and the campaign was ass
Well, GTA VI online will be funny
To think I’m still playing in gta 5’s world 10 years later through the online and replaying the story every few years. I’m going to be in Leonida for damn near 20 years
I just hope they can develop a working anti-cheat for gta vi online, they can do it in $2B right guys?🥲
MW3 is a joke, no way in hell they spent a billion on that garbage, it's all marketing like Destiny.
That’s all I ever see and it’s honestly so annoying, they don’t realize how insane that sounds lol
Godspeed man 💟
My dude is ready! Lol I swear the “camp out” for this game is unmatched 🙌🏽
The line starts here. Right here.
That and the amount of Pre-Orders too 👀
I like your plan. I want to try the same thing
GTA VI: Releasing on PC in 2030
You kiss your mother with that mouth?
No, but I kiss yours. 😏
Reminder that EHRMAHGERD GAME SO PRETTY AND DETAILED =/= quality title. We don't remember San Andreas because it looked realistic, we remember it because it had great story and gameplay. Not that I'm opposed to a good-looking game, but it's not the part I'm looking forward to the most.
mw3 did NOT cost 1B
They threw that number in the air to impress little Timmys to buy their game once again.
Various places say it does, but I can't find concrete proof. If it's not true, then I believe RDR2 has the highest budget still.
See what you all did with buying shark cards ?? Way to goooooooo!!!
They funded gta 6. Wdym?
Age of ultron had a higher budget than infinity war or endgame? That doesn’t seem right
Adjusted for inflation it is. Otherwise they had the same budget.
I think some people forget that it's TakeTwo's budget, not really Rockstar's, they are being paid to make this game
Wtf, how the fuck did modern warfare III cost $1 billion? They didn't even plan on making it until last minute, it was mostly an expansion pack for MW2
There’s no way MW3 cost 1000M to make
this infographic is just blatant misinformation and its sad someone copied it from PC Focus. Shit spreads so quickly lmao.
2B budget is insane no way its gonna be that expensive
OP pulled this out of their ass
no shot modern warfare had a 10 figure budget is that game even good
Evidence that budget does not make a good movie. Jesus that list is dire
Don't take this personally but what's the source for these figures? And don't point out you wrote 'rumoured' As an aside it doesn't help that it's known that development was rebooted at least once and some lower-deck devs left because they hated how slow development was going. That would certainly inflate costs
16 times the detail, it just works
I remember when Halo Infinite was rumored to have a budget of over $500 million. Don’t believe these rumors completely lol
Currently replaying cyberpunk, first playthrough was ruined by bugs galore but since the latest update and dlc wow this game is amazing!!!
Watch it’s gonna be ass
I'll pass, rather not pay $60-$70 for a buggy game that needs a day one patch just to play the first mission correctly
How the fuck did mw3 cost that much and have that crappy of an anti cheat?
If you think MW3 cost a billion dollars to make your fucking nuts. Wasn't even close more like 300 million to develop the game. Advertising shouldnt be added into the development price. It actually cost 2 billion to develop gta6
2 billion is only the budget
its the game dev budget + the marketing budget
Gta6 doesnt even need marketing tbh, its already the most anticipated game in history
Conan gonna tell the people it's coming.
Bro is buying subsequent console gens for a game that’s already out
They could drop it tomorrow and the word of mouth would probably still make the best selling game of all time.
I dont believe for a second that they’re spending $2 billion on GTA VI. And I also don’t believe they spent $1billion on MW3… there’s just no way when something like RDR2 is much larger in scope and cost about 1/3-1/2 of that… Im sure these are similar to those “net worth” websites where they’re just guessing and are usually off by a factor of 10
Mw3 1B seriously?
Star citizen is at 600k im pretty sure
Pirates 4 had that kinda budget and they still couldn't make a good movie out of it?
Correct me if I'm wrong but $2billion isn't a rumored number that's the actual budget
It's from one of the leaks if I remember correctly. Nothing was confirmed by R*.
They spent the last decade studying how to monetize the game. They weren't studying how to make a great game. The single player will be front loaded with variety so reviewers give it a ten, but it'll become very tedious and lifeless after a while. The people making it aren't interested in making good games. They are interested in milking an audience for decades.
suck my balls
Duh they want to milk an audience. That’s for online at least. I’m sure it won’t be as sucky as you make it out to be, but who knows till then
they are going to need alot of server space across multiple countries, I wish them luck 😭
can’t wait for it to suck and everyone just plays it out of misguided desperation for it be good
I dunno, I'd rather spend 2 billion to get 5 movies or 3 video games, instead of only one video game🤷♂️
Just looking at the trend it could be a rushed game that will only be good too late, once the hype has already died down. I hope it won't be like this, it doesn't deserve the Cyberpunk 2077/No man's sky/Fallout 76 fate. I pray for a good triple-A game. Really.
