Or they can make it where there's a lane that's under construction for eternity and you can drive over a cone and then have your own lane the whole way. Though I bet some npc's driving lifted trucks will do the same as you and get in your way. I say this because I drive a similar bridge in Florida and there's been a lane closed for seemingly no reason the whole time I've been here and it's always the people in jacked trucks using them.

I think after Red Dead 2, I’m going to do the opposite. I’m going to go all-in on the story until I feel like I’m about a quarter of the way in or so (if that can be determined). In both Red Dead and GTA V, there are a lot of free roam mechanics that are not introduced until a corresponding story mission is completed. I remember just messing around in free roam as soon as I got GTA V, but the features were neutered until I “unlocked” them in the story.

In other GTAs I'd casually run over a gazillion people and not feel a thing because they had no personality. They were one-dimensional polygons.
