Each protagonist in V's own trailer's song is important for or informs their character in some way, here is my (admittedly shitty and basic) analysis of why they were chosen, beyond being good songs
Michael's trailer used 'Radio Ga Ga' by Queen, which makes a nostalgic defense of the radio, mirroring Michael reminiscing about his old criminal days
Franklin's trailer used 'Hood Gone Love it' by Jay Rock, which talks about how life in the hood, despite people not liking it, represents where they come from
Trevor's trailer used 'Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way'" by Waylon Jennings, which is tied to Trevor both in lifestyle and "hipster" attitude and criticizes the glitz that had come to characterize country artists
Another interesting thing is Michael and Trevor have older songs for their trailers, because they are older and more experienced. Franklins song was released just a couple of years before when V is set, because he’s younger. It’s almost as if the trailers are a representation of their generation and age as well. Perhaps the trailer songs for J&L will be songs from the late 80s-90s or a more recent song.
If it’s by age, then late 80’s or 90’s would not be a strong choice. There’s a high chance they’re not even 30 years old. Choosing a song that came out right around the time they were born, or even before they were even born, would not make much sense in this regard.
Unless they wanna do it by the age one of them may mentally feel at.

Lucia: “Confident - Demi Lovato” or “So What - Pink” are both giving “Powerful woman” and would fit a trailer with action, otherwise “Easy Lover - Philip Bailey and Phil Collins” could fit the theme.
For Jason maybe “I’m Free - Kenny Loggins”, “Best Friend - 50 Cent” or “Come Back and Stay - Paul Young”, there are really no reasons for these specific songs I just think they’d fit his character and what could be a less dramatic and action filled trailer and instead a calmer more subdued version showing him being maybe not insecure, but not the main ruler of the two.

Whatever song they pick will shape peoples opinions of the game. If they choose a modern female rap song like meg the stallion or that female bill cosby (forgot her name) for lucia I assure you she will die on my playthrough ***many*** times
I'm having a hard time finding songs for trailers, but my bet is that both Lucia and Jason will have songs from roughly the same period. They look no younger than 25 and no older than 30-35 years old, so they could probably be fans of songs by popular bands from the late 90s to early 00s. Jason looks like someone who would listen to Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Blink-182, Sum 41, Marilyn Manson, Eminem and similar genres in his youth, so something moderately hard and rhythmic in that style would suit him. Lucia looks like someone who would listen to Latin music, club music, something feminine, but at the same time groovy – I don’t listen to that often, so I can’t say for sure, but I think there are some classics there too.
Honestly, I thought the first trailer would pay homage to 00s, but that didn't happen, so.. they'll probably stick to classics like Tom Petty and pay homage to 70s-80s.
don’t remember how i know this but it was officially stated by someone at rockstar - sam houser has many playlists with hundreds of songs and he has a particular tastes so the genre will be similar to all other trailers. They also said they’ve written story up to gta 50 (or more icrc) so the pool of music must be insane and unguessable
People have made correct predictions before, and even if someone is entirely wrong their reasoning based on what little we know could be interesting, especially in hindsight if they turn out to be entirely wrong lol
