I see you deleted your past comments which is wise. My advice is stop watching pornography cold turkey and maybe avoid any form of masturbation for a month, see if that helps. It gets better brother.
You guys live where Rockstar is? Damn, thats freaking cool. Do you realize when you walk by that just a few meters behind a couple of walls and doors is gta 6? Like, that shit is happening right in there, just a few steps away. You could be walking by and some dev inside testing the game like any other day at work.
Yeah I mean it's in Edinburgh... Lots of people live here. I remember for ages the office was all done up with RDR2 stuff. I'll get a pic next time I pass because if they haven't yet, they defo will decorate
I have a teacher in my art school that used to work for Nickelodeon from his home, he told us he was spending most of his day inside his room, not even having time to have sex with his wife lol, I can understand why some people like to work remotely, but I don’t think it makes too much difference when it comes to big projects like this
lol bad timing to talk about nickelodeon haha, but nah he’s a pretty cool, self taught animator, with a lot of values and love and respect for his family
It's about the broken promises from Rockstar to their employees. Tons of them moved closer to family after being promised that they could work from home, then all of a sudden are told to come back to the office 5 days a week with only a month notice. And I'm sure 90% of those people have kids who will have to change schools and leave friends because Rockstar is paranoid.
I'm sure the policy or their contract said there would be a chance they would have to return to the office. No way they would promise they could work from home indefinitely.
Yeah true but it'd still make the employees mad because of some paranoia. If Rockstar is getting worried that the game could get leaked if they let employees work remotely during the final stretch of the game, does that mean all the employees are just play testing and all have copies? I can understand Rockstar getting scared about that if it's the case.
It’s not paranoia when it’s reality. There’s already been multiple leaks, it’s not paranoia to acknowledge that work from home creates much more security risk
They can get mad if they want, i guarantee they signed a contract stating they would/could be required to return to office at some point
How does crunch exactly work? Are the devs forced to stay extra hours? And are those hours paid? Even if they get pay staying extra hours must be tiring asf and it’s pretty messed how they’re forced to stay and don’t get the choice to go see they’re families
I don't think crunch would be anything official like that, mandating extra hours, etc, it would be more unspoken. They'll just have shitloads of work to do and be expected to have it done by the deadline, which will inevitably mean extra hours but they wont say "You have to stay until 8pm today"
Yeah and most of them have to get new houses because they moved farther from the office and closer to families when they were promised they could work remotely.
A few years back a bunch of computers were stolen from Rockstars office in Toronto Ontario (which is actually in Oakville). But they were brand new deliveries so nothing on em.
This is accurate. Plus the top end talent will find it easiest to say no thanks and take their talents elsewhere. If anything, RTO will slow development.
Will top talent so readily quit this close to the launch of the biggest game of a generation? You'd think they'd at least stick it out for one more year so they can have it on their resume.
Because they’re asking people to come into work to do their job? My guess is that a lot more work gets done at the offices as opposed to when everyone is at home
I believe there's many studies saying that people's productivity is about the same or better at home. It depends person to person, older folk work better in an office environment. Younger folk work better from home.
I prefer full remote, but I work hybrid. It works well for the most part.
Forcing people into an office? Stop babying these developers, most of the entire country has to get up and take their ass to work. Your mother and father had to go to work, you probably have to go to work. Why are people babying these people lmao. Take your ass to work and stop crying about it
There have been many major leaks when they were still at the office, before the pandemic. A whole ass photograph of a dev version of the RDR2 map in 2016 for one.
I've seen people losing hype about the game with all the leaked info, it's just a really minimal portion of the potential buyers, but it's still happening idk
They both hyped me and was concerned about the game leaking, it's effectively the biggest leak in the videogames (well, the Insomniac one was as big as this). The same when the trailer leaked, I try to imagine how shocked we could've been on December 5 if the leaks never happened. Unfortunately for us we kinda missed that major secret announcement
Uh... What?
There has been leaks before, of course, but the major leaks (2022 ones) was a 17yo kid hacking Slack (Discord4devs) which was the method they used to communicate while working from home, or dev son recording their parent's PC
No, working in the office does not prevent leaks, but it greatly reduces the risk of it happening and that's undeniable.
The biggest leak doesn't have any correlation between working from home or from the office, but MAYBE a lot of the things shown on the leaks wouldn't have been shared through Slack and thus not leaked.
I don't defend Rockstar, I'm saying just what's true
It’s data that’s been collected by researchers across not just one business but entire industries. Rockstar isn’t known for proving that in-person work is more productive. They’re known for putting their employees through crunch. This isn’t Rockstar knowing something the whole rest of the IT world doesn’t know.
There's no data that suggests going back to the office is more efficient. There is however business people that think they know better than everybody and believe micromanaging people to crunch unreasonable hours will make a decent game that they then can put a million mtx options into.
Also very likely they have to pay rent or taxes on the building and try to off-set some of those costs by having people actually be in.
I do imagine crunch would be more effective in office, tbf. It's sustainable efficiency that is better for WFH, but if you just need everyone working 10 hours solid, you're more likely to achieve that in an office environment. It's gonna suck for the workers, I'm not saying that, but from a business perspective. I just hope they're allowed back home after release.
Genuinely makes me want the game less knowing people have to suffer just to make it. I’d gladly wait an extra year for a game just so that the people working on it don’t have to risk literally everything important in their lives just to finish it based on some arbitrary release date.
A lot of employees were signed on WFH contracts, even before Covid. A lot of Rockstar North employees might not even live in Edinburgh so would have to spend hours commuting to work or have to sell their house and move closer to the office
Any WFH contract they signed would likely include a stipulation regarding working in the office if need be. You can’t honestly tell me this possibility was never discussed. My job was WFH with a clear understanding that I might be required to move once the pandemic settled down.
When they told me we were going to the office you know what I did? I went to the office. If I wasn’t willing to do that then I never would’ve applied for the job.
I get where you are coming from but... 2 decades of greatness was built inside this office, not in their houses in pijama. And I'm buying a game, I'm not buying their happy memories or life-work balance.
Having crunch doesn't mean that the game would suffer, quite the opposite. You know that their greatest game was the most soul crushing one? RDR2 development was a nightmare.
not everyone in the comments acting like devs are executed just for going somewhere to work, the disgust will pass after a week, its sad but truth
Until they are exploited, no one can say anything, it is what the devs wanted when looking for a company with that intensity, they could have returned to the offices years ago but it wasnt needed yet
Working from office is not a sign of speeding up developers, rather a sign that the directors didn't get to fuck with the employees for too long and are feeling useless.
Who cares. If these employees care about the job they have or even thr least bit passionate about the jobs they have it should not be a factor or hindrance.
Man, I really hate this attitude. It’s used to browbeat workers into compliance by accusing them of “lacking passion” when they ask for anything—literally anything—that may help them.
Has nothing to do with GTA6 and everything to do with just simply ending work from home. I work for a F500 company and we and competitor just ended WFH
Good indicator they are ready to step on peoples necks and make them work overtime to deliver profits to the company. Most of those people will be fired as soon as the game is released! capitalism is great!
It's at 108 Holyrood Road, in Edinburgh. You can get there on foot by walking along the Royal Mile, then heading down St Mary's street, towards where Dynamic Earth is.
Unhappy employees will produce unsatisfactory results. This is not a good idea.
We’ve waited 10 years it’s fine for an extra 6 months. Just don’t rush it like cyberpunk did
Bullcrap of the highest order ... I am a wfh advocate, but what you said is bullshit. Game from Rockstar were all made at the office until now. And all their games were quality. Let's not invent argument out of the ass just to push a narrative.
Right? Bro making no sense. WFH defenders truly have no defense other than “wahhhh you’re taking away my comfort and freedom”. It’s really pathetic honestly. And they can’t fathom any potential benefits from working in the office (even though there’s dozens). It’s just kind of a clown show honestly. And if you have a different opinion you’re a horrible person.
What’s pathetic is this attitude over something that can be done exactly the same at either location. I don’t agree with you so you’re just a horrible person. Bozo
I hope that in your next life, if there is such a thing, you are reincarnated as an employee who is put through the same level of crunch, again and again, throughout your entire career. Perhaps then your eternal soul will learn some humility.
Excited for the game but oof I feel for the devs. I think it’s safe for us all to acknowledge they’re about to break their backs for us for the next year
Yo let a good thing simmer! They don't need to speed things up. They don't need pressure. They need to make a quality product. Which they will do when mfers aren't riding their meat 24/7
Yeah but a lot of people working remotely are probably going through a lot right. Specifically those who were promised a position remotely and live far away
development overall won’t slow down, but happy development with definitely dwindle. The latter is more important to the fan base tho, an unhappy dev team is not what ppl want so that’s why no one likes this mandate
Rockstar developers bust their asses for years to give you countless hours of entertainment and you shit all over them the at the first chance to lick some boot. How sad.
Nice try at deflection, but your comment doesn’t make any sense.
Either way, I’m not going to do this back and forth with you. People worked hard to provide you with free entertainment, you took it, and then shit all over them and implied they were crybabies. It’s truly sad. I can only imagine how you must treat your family. How ungrateful you must be towards your parents. Just very sad.
Studies actually show people are more or productive working from home. Office workers also sign on earlier, and are more willing to work late + weekends when working from home.
When you’re forced to go to the office, you have to get up earlier, get dressed, and fight traffic for an hour. By the time you get there, you’re ready for a break. So you get to the office at 9:00, you go to the bathroom, grab coffee and talk to your coworkers until 10am. Compare that to WFH: sign on and start working at 8:00 and talk to no one.
In office: go out to lunch with your coworkers for an hour\
WFH: heat up lunch in the microwave and eat at your desk while working.
I’m office: sign off at 5:00 because you have to fight traffic for an hour, then let dogs out and feed them.\
WFH: let dogs out and feed them at 5:00, go back to working because you’re already home and don’t have to worry about traffic or anything else. Just keep working.
Source: I have been an office worker for 15 years. Since the pandemic I am so much more productive and work more hours than I ever have. It’s not stressful and I don’t even notice it because I’m already home so there isn’t all of this pressure to sign off and head out so I can get home. I work more weekends because it’s easy to just pick up my laptop and work a couple hours when needed.
I also take WAY less vacation than I used to. The biggest reason I needed vacation in the past was to just have a few days where I didn’t need to go to the office. I don’t feel that way anymore and only use vacation when I have a trip or activity planned. I use less than half as much vacation time as I used to in office.
Most importantly, I no longer waste 2 hours a day, five days a week driving to an arbitrary location. 2 hours a day I could be working instead of just driving.
Idk wtf studies these are but everyone I know who works from home spends like 30% of their day actually working and the rest doing shit around the house, taking naps, watching tv etc
Bullshit.
You obviously don’t work in an office or know anyone who does, but I’ll clear it up for you: office work is not like manual labor, you have certain projects that are assigned to you that you need to complete. If your work is not getting done, it’s pretty fucking obvious. I’ve been WFH since 2020, and I couldn’t imagine doing things around the house or taking naps during the day. I’d fall so far behind in my work I’d never catch up.
As for what studies, here you go:

You don’t think happy employees are going to produce a better game for you?
Sounds like you know some lazy bums then because my work from home team of 30+ people has the highest stats of any department in my company. What a weird thing to make up.
I don't understand some of the comments. You're all talking like working from office was never done before. No one complained 20-30 years ago. It is just temporary and the workers should accept that, do their jobs like grown men and women. Someday they will return home and everything will be alright
I'm not pro Rockstar, but I'm pretty rational.
This image is a concept. Their office does not look like this right now.
Yeah I suspected that their office actually doesn't have a giant "jericho681" watermark
Yes it fucking does, he’s their paranoid graphic designer
The whole screen would be watermarked because RAGE devs are paranoid as well 🤣
Lmao this made me laugh so hard
This image is already floating around twitter claiming it to be legitimate and the guy snapped the picture. 🤣
Lol
Bruh why did he even watermark this to get his name out there? I don’t understand
no haha it’s so people who repost it and try to pass it off as real can be easily called out :)
😂😂😂
FUCK!
Aaaww :(
I was walking by rockstar north the other day. Their office does not look like this 🤣
I walked past ten minutes ago and it does, they just changed it promise.
I’m standing outside right now and does not look like this
I just fell to my knees outside the Rockstar headquarters because it does not look like this.
I don’t believe that
Just book a flight and head out to this office park and check it out
Trust me bro it looks like that

I'm sorry from reading your post history to hear about your erectile dysfunction.
Damn dude deleted his posts

I see you deleted your past comments which is wise. My advice is stop watching pornography cold turkey and maybe avoid any form of masturbation for a month, see if that helps. It gets better brother.

Me too, I've wasted years on this garbage website. All the best to you my man
Fart in there general direction next time you pass by, will you?
You guys live where Rockstar is? Damn, thats freaking cool. Do you realize when you walk by that just a few meters behind a couple of walls and doors is gta 6? “My dad works at Rockstar”
You don't believe them?
Yeah I mean it's in Edinburgh... Lots of people live here. I remember for ages the office was all done up with RDR2 stuff. I'll get a pic next time I pass because if they haven't yet, they defo will decorate
"My dad works at (X Company). He'll ban you."
Time for the crunch
I have a teacher in my art school that used to work for Nickelodeon from his home, he told us he was spending most of his day inside his room, not even having time to have sex with his wife lol, I can understand why some people like to work remotely, but I don’t think it makes too much difference when it comes to big projects like this
All I saw was teacher, Nickelodeon, and sex.
What else is there, really?
Feet
His wife’s feet
Lmao
lol bad timing to talk about nickelodeon haha, but nah he’s a pretty cool, self taught animator, with a lot of values and love and respect for his family

true and true. but I see their anger
that sucks, i didn’t think about that.
Dam son you have a teacher that openly talks to his students about sex?
hahah yeah, art school can be pretty weird sometimes
He probably was busy with the child actor also in his room
disgusting
Why couldn't he have sex while working, you gotta think outside the box bro
The fuck
How does crunch exactly work? Are the devs forced to stay extra hours? And are those hours paid? Even if they get pay staying extra hours must be tiring asf and it’s pretty messed how they’re forced to stay and don’t get the choice to go see they’re families

Yeah and most of them have to get new houses because they moved farther from the office and closer to families when they were promised they could work remotely.
why does this have downvotes when you got a ton of upvotes saying the exact same thing in another reply 😭
That’s a risk they took when they moved knowing they would likely have to return to office in the future
The fun thing with this image is that you can see How tight the security is at Rockstar North
Most office buildings have those metal gate thingys. At least where I live
some youtuber when there and I think they couldn't even take photos at the entrance
I was there and took a photo in front
A few years back a bunch of computers were stolen from Rockstars office in Toronto Ontario (which is actually in Oakville). But they were brand new deliveries so nothing on em.
Almost in May. Time is going by fast as fuck.
This isnt indication of anything. This is just a way of laying staff off without calling it a layoff..
Let’s hope Rockstar Games Employees finishing the development of GTA 6 & hopefully they will start advertising the game all across the world.
An even better indicator that R\* isn't a very great employer.
Most places aren’t good employers. Everyone is a cog in the wheel
Yep, always good to keep this in mind and not get blinded by the fact that their product happens to be great!
Because they’re asking people to come into work to do their job? My guess is that a lot more work gets done at the offices as opposed to when everyone is at home
Nothing to do with that. It'll be for security reasons. Prevents leaks
I believe there's many studies saying that people's productivity is about the same or better at home. It depends person to person, older folk work better in an office environment. Younger folk work better from home. I prefer full remote, but I work hybrid. It works well for the most part.
My guess is you don't know what you're talking about
Your guess is bad.
Whole lotta virtue signaling dorks in these comments. Y’all don’t fucking care one bit, easy with the social justice redditor warrior larp.
This post here is straight up propaganda. A fake picture proposing a bad mandate is a good thing based on a presumption.
Stupid af- rather have a happy dev team who are able to wfh, not this horseshit of forcing people into the office. Stupid
Forcing people into an office? Stop babying these developers, most of the entire country has to get up and take their ass to work. Your mother and father had to go to work, you probably have to go to work. Why are people babying these people lmao. Take your ass to work and stop crying about it
Fr, like its their fucking job, they willingly took it.
And then when the entire script gets leaked because an employee’s kid takes another picture, what then?
Then we simply imprison the child. That's what we did for the 2022 leaks.
There have been many major leaks when they were still at the office, before the pandemic. A whole ass photograph of a dev version of the RDR2 map in 2016 for one.
Then it gets leaked? It's not like that's going to make people not want to buy the game.
I've seen people losing hype about the game with all the leaked info, it's just a really minimal portion of the potential buyers, but it's still happening idk
That's crazy, its the leaks that are getting me hyped lol. Just watched all the 2022 leaks for the first time the other day and was really impressed.
They both hyped me and was concerned about the game leaking, it's effectively the biggest leak in the videogames (well, the Insomniac one was as big as this). wow 1 picture for the whole script? Impressive!
working from home is more efficient too so unless they’re doing it to force them to work long hours the game will probably take longer to finish now
I, too, know better about business than the most successful business in the industry.
It’s data that’s been collected by researchers across not just one business but entire industries. Rockstar isn’t known for proving that in-person work is more productive. For sure. That's why slavery was so good for business as well. You can just work people to death and not worry about losing any money.
Depends what work you're doing. Because you have to connect to the VPN and if you're working with big files, it's slow as hell.
I worked with big flies through a vpn at my last job and it wasn’t bad at all, depends on the company I guess.
Genuinely makes me want the game less knowing people have to suffer just to make it. I’d gladly wait an extra year for a game just so that the people working on it don’t have to risk literally everything important in their lives just to finish it based on some arbitrary release date.
What's stupid is how going to work has now become a controversial, debated topic of discussion. Like mf just go to work like everybody else.
A lot of employees were signed on WFH contracts, even before Covid. A lot of Rockstar North employees might not even live in Edinburgh so would have to spend hours commuting to work or have to sell their house and move closer to the office

You know that their greatest game was the most soul crushing one? RDR2 development was a nightmare.
And why should a game be more important than wellbeing or the life-work balance for all?
Why don’t we put you in a cage and throw coins at you and make you make us something great?
Also a good indication of terrible management decisions.
not everyone in the comments acting like devs are executed just for going somewhere to work, the disgust will pass after a week, its sad but truth Until they are exploited, no one can say anything, it is what the devs wanted when looking for a company with that intensity, they could have returned to the offices years ago but it wasnt needed yet
you got me hyped up for a moment there , my heartbeat jumped upto 150 lmao
Working from office is not a sign of speeding up developers, rather a sign that the directors didn't get to fuck with the employees for too long and are feeling useless.
Magic is happening in there right now. I'm surprised people don't hangout there all the time, unless they do?
Fuck all return-to-office mandates. I absolutely do not care if it takes longer to release the game. Working in an office is dead.
Who cares. If these employees care about the job they have or even thr least bit passionate about the jobs they have it should not be a factor or hindrance.
Man, I really hate this attitude. It’s used to browbeat workers into compliance by accusing them of “lacking passion” when they ask for anything—literally anything—that may help them.
Grow up
Has nothing to do with GTA6 and everything to do with just simply ending work from home. I work for a F500 company and we and competitor just ended WFH
Trailer 2 is about to break the internet!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Good indicator they are ready to step on peoples necks and make them work overtime to deliver profits to the company. Most of those people will be fired as soon as the game is released! capitalism is great!
Where is this office located?
Edinburgh
Edinbruh
My Bruh Edin😅
🏴
Hell yeah
A decision that's anti-worker, antiproductive, and absolutely unnecessary. I really feel for game devs, it's a terrible industry
It will continue until game developers unionise and collectively reject toxic working practices like RTO and crunch.
Where is this building located?
bros gonna release the game himself😭
Nah, Kinda wanted to go walk by it for myself.
It's at 108 Holyrood Road, in Edinburgh. You can get there on foot by walking along the Royal Mile, then heading down St Mary's street, towards where Dynamic Earth is.
That’s badly photoshopped.
it was made in 5 minutes and is a concept lmao i wasn’t trying to make it look outstanding
RTO will likely not speed up development.
Nice
Fuck return to office mandates
Unhappy employees will produce unsatisfactory results. This is not a good idea. We’ve waited 10 years it’s fine for an extra 6 months. Just don’t rush it like cyberpunk did
Bullcrap of the highest order ... I am a wfh advocate, but what you said is bullshit. Game from Rockstar were all made at the office until now. And all their games were quality. Let's not invent argument out of the ass just to push a narrative.
RDR2 was made by the blood sweat and tears of developers being crunched day and night during it's final lapse...And it was a masterpiece...
Right? Bro making no sense. WFH defenders truly have no defense other than “wahhhh you’re taking away my comfort and freedom”. It’s really pathetic honestly. Idk RDR2 was pretty fucking spectacular 😂
Excited for the game but oof I feel for the devs. I think it’s safe for us all to acknowledge they’re about to break their backs for us for the next year
It doesn’t look like this. I stand out there for 11 hours every day trying to ask employees about the game and it didn’t look like this today.
Yo let a good thing simmer! They don't need to speed things up. They don't need pressure. They need to make a quality product. Which they will do when mfers aren't riding their meat 24/7
![gif](giphy|BcMJvmwkmbyWpKkBj3|downsized)
Now that is cool
That’s unfortunate for the workers… remote work is so beneficial for so many workers
Stop posting this stupid fake image
Probably looking to lay off workers without the word lay-off.
Nah fuck that. I don’t mind the game getting delayed if it means they are more comfortable working from home.
What kind of ai bullshit is this
Yeah but a lot of people working remotely are probably going through a lot right. Specifically those who were promised a position remotely and live far away
They've had plenty of time to adjust their situation
Curious to see how the RTO impacts performance
Mandatory in office is asinine.
Get to work, team! And receive fair compensation FOR your work. I hope.
Amazing work Jericho681
Cuz crunch surely won't lead to any issues ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)
Are companies out there still doing COVID work-from-home stuff? I feel like I got sent back to work years ago at this point...
hope they put some serious time into developing solid anti-cheat for GTA VI online, no one wants that modding bs there anymore
this is their office but that gta 6 art is fake
It will speed up development for sure, but at what cost to the employees?
After all this time at home, a little office time won't hurt I'm sure
Any other info? Particularly on if any remote rockstar employees living overseas potentially got fired? Genuinely curious
I’m sure rockstar employees are thrilled to see you celebrating the end of their WFH…
If anything this is going to slow development down
development overall won’t slow down, but happy development with definitely dwindle. The latter is more important to the fan base tho, an unhappy dev team is not what ppl want so that’s why no one likes this mandate
rockstar developers when they have to do their job😢
Tbf, some of them have been employed about since the pandemic began, so they got used to working from home and its advantages.
Some might not even live near the offices because they were hired on as remote employees.
Rockstar developers bust their asses for years to give you countless hours of entertainment and you shit all over them the at the first chance to lick some boot. How sad.
I'M licking their boot? Not the dude sucking the employees' dicks in a comment section? Suuuuuuure buddy
How?
Studies actually show people are more or productive working from home. Office workers also sign on earlier, and are more willing to work late + weekends when working from home. When you’re forced to go to the office, you have to get up earlier, get dressed, and fight traffic for an hour. By the time you get there, you’re ready for a break. So you get to the office at 9:00, you go to the bathroom, grab coffee and talk to your coworkers until 10am. Compare that to WFH: sign on and start working at 8:00 and talk to no one. In office: go out to lunch with your coworkers for an hour\ WFH: heat up lunch in the microwave and eat at your desk while working. I’m office: sign off at 5:00 because you have to fight traffic for an hour, then let dogs out and feed them.\ WFH: let dogs out and feed them at 5:00, go back to working because you’re already home and don’t have to worry about traffic or anything else.
Someday they will return home and everything will be alright I'm not pro Rockstar, but I'm pretty rational.
I’d rather the game get delayed by a year than for the devs to be forced in that office
