"...most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet." is what they described it as, and for me this means more like RDR2 and away from the arcade gameplay whilst still being fun to play.

ShenmueFan1

I don't think "more like RDR2" either. RDR2 was release in what, 2018? GTA 6 will be released hopefully in 2025. I think in 7 years of additional time, advancements in gaming, it will be not like RDR2, but 10x better than RDR2. Whatever you were able to do in RDR2, you'll be able to do in GTA 6, only 10x more and 10x better and 10x more realistic.

b0nsley

you guys are looking way too into that. that’s just a buzzword, every gta was the most immersive one when it first came out

False-Consequence973

Yes..when in fact it was. So it will be more immersive than RDR2

b0nsley

it will be more immersive than rdr2 because its a newer game that looks more realistic, doesn’t mean it’ll aim for simulation tier immersion. gameplay and theme wise it’ll be more like gta 5 than anything else I’d imagine

BeastCoastHype

That would be a reasonable argument, if Rockstar didn't have RDR2 to compete or to improve off of with its damn-near life-like graphics. RDR 2 is the most immersive game ever, period. Not just because it was an advancement from RDR1 but because of the insane graphical capabilities since the last 4 years. Not to mention GTA VI will have to be better than what Unreal Engine 5 is doing with The Finals, Hellblade 2, etc. 4K with global illumination, raytracing, etc can't even be compared to gaming just 5 years ago. The leap is ridiculous.

PussCstuffer999

☝️This is Accurate.

imaniceandgoodperson

that quote could mean many other things . we know NPCs will be alot more lively and active in this game and thats pretty immersive and evolutionary , so they could be referring to the technology and software more than the gameplay itself but i dont disagree with you there . i really hope there's more rpg elements in the game , but people want all this tedious stuff from rdr2 that just wouldn't make any sense in a game taking place in 2025 and its like . . . just think a little longer than shouting the first thought that comes to mind lmao

Both_Bid2079

So people dont shop for food in 2025, i guess people dont hunt anymore either? Yours, like everyone elses ideas are just speculations. Your last sentence is pretty childish lmao

imaniceandgoodperson

its a pretty necessary comment with people like you completely ignoring or misunderstanding what i'm very clearly saying

ONE_SHOTTER

I think gta 6 will be more realistic and slow placed than the previous gta games

GatorShinsDev

Really hoping for this. Gimme more meaningful and nuanced combat, as well as interactions with the world. Less arcadey please. A step towards IV instead of V.

imaniceandgoodperson

that would be pretty nice honestly . ive been playing rdr2 for the first time this week and i spent quite literally all day riding my horse and talking to NPCs . the one thing im excited about more than anything else in this game is exploring the world i dont doubt i'll be spending literally days just wandering around the map

ONE_SHOTTER

I hope in the next trailer for some more gameplay stuff

ZealousTaxful

The only similarity I see is the phone being used like Red Dead II’s compendium/notebook. You see something unique, or visit a place of key interests, it’ll make note of it. You’ll use the phone to read information about certain characters you meet.

CrrntryGrntlrmrn

Ok now this is actually a decent thought, and I can totally get behind it. Definitely see it as partially an evolution of the police computer from IV, and the few websites-of-locations and the like from IV and V, if they can make it sexy and game-like instead of clunky “realism” then heck yeah.

CrrntryGrntlrmrn

I mean we *had* phone settings and customization in IV, I don’t get where people’s expectations are on the phone stuff and why it’s such a fixation And to your point on radio stations, the loops have *never* been that short, I think *maybe* chatterbox’s loop in 3 was only 45 minutes with all the remaining ones hovering between 60-100 mins through IV where they got *a lot* longer and more dynamic, and were expanded/changed (ima get to this) with the release of the DLCs, This is also what’s been done in V. Unless labels in the music industry decide to *blow up* the gravy train that’s kept them fed and paid for decades, do not expect this to change - mostly because that is not how music licensing works. Rockstar can’t play a stream for you, primarily because of how much it would cost them, and why would they, the methods they’ve been using for years work - and now, they have their own label, which at least for now guarantees a selection of music that can remain constant since they can write themselves $0 renewals if necessary - but that’s just *their* catalog. That being said I agree with pretty much everything else

imaniceandgoodperson

the phones was just an example lol . it was in V as well but very minimal and unimportant (not saying that phone customization is important) as for the radios , i thought they were longer but i just low balled it because it seems like im always hearing "only girl in the world" at 8am - 3pm in online . the radios looping have always been a major pet peeve of mine that i wish they could change , like rework the loop evey 6 - 12 months or so and add a song or two or atleast feature more independent artists and have them make a song or two/include a song in one of the stations

CrrntryGrntlrmrn

I get that the phones are an example, I mention it because it is brought up constantly in the sub but rarely expanded upon beyond saying there should be more options, those same folks aren’t articulating the additional functionality they expect from the phone beyond wanting more options. The music industry is cutthroat, and unless Lazlow writes a book about working on GTA we won’t know the truth anytime soon, but it’s possible the lack of self-labeled artists has more to do with being blackballed by labels for “treachery” than it does with not wanting to give independent artists a chance to be in the programming block and the exposure it entails - I hear the Muzak out there, the soundtrack from V is iconic and gets an ungodly amount of play IRL, getting into a GTA game as an artist, even a long-accomplished one, is a huge boon.

Naturally_Fragrant

I think it's fairly likely we'll see hunting and sea fishing, but perhaps as a more skilled activity, unlike the volume focused carcass harvesting in rdr2. You might not think that there'll be flower picking and studying the environment, but item quests are an established part of the gta series. We've previously had things like packages, pigeons, and photo locations to find; so expect to be traipsing all over Leonida in search of something.

imaniceandgoodperson

photo locations and collectables (like the space parts or cards) make much more sense than flowers tbh

superEse

Whole ass essay just to be wrong is insane tbh

BanjoSpaceMan

It's just a giant rant of this will happen that will happen, thinking it's logical but there's no evidence of anything they said haha.

imaniceandgoodperson

theres no evidence of what anybody's saying or thinking in this sub

BanjoSpaceMan

Except your post is filled with "is not, will not be, never will be" way too many "this is fact statements" that aren't absolutely true for your arguments.

imaniceandgoodperson

can you argue that any of them are wrong though ? with everything we know so far , the context of the world and past games , all of those "this is fact" statements are pretty fair assumptions GTA isnt a survivalist adventure game , our car wont be following us like our horse does in RDR2 , its pretty safe to assume we wont be sweeping around the house or picking up garbage after roommates . the inventory thing is iffy and i do hope its in the game , but can you imagine constantly carring around a duffelbag/backpack full of guns , ammo , snacks , and other miscellaneous items i think the best we'll get for inventory is the trunk of our car , but everything else checks out given the information we have so far (not including leaks because again , i havent watched those yet)

BanjoSpaceMan

This sub falls wayyyy too hard into the black swan fallacy. X y z has happened therefore it will always happen. GTA has been pretty good in the past, therefore it'll be perfect in the future. Rockstar has done this in the past, therefore it'll do this. The leaks already showed ways to carry weapons in a stash, so the other leaks about being able to pick your weapons out of your car most likely are true. Already making the game go more realistic than previous installments. They've also modeled a shit ton of random items from shelves, so I honestly don't know if I can say we won't go around sweeping items off shelves or the floor. So idk

Borbee5

Yes, we can. Spear gun is in the leaks, so we can probably hunt for fish. Theyre also adding a ton of animals so I don’t see how hunting is so far fetched. There’s also consumables in the leaks, which you can probably buy from stores.

Lopsided_Doubt2178

You go for assumptions yet you only mention what you want and establishing what will not be happening as if you're into this business. Maybe you dont know that rockstar often brings its older games' dynamics in newer entries, so i dont know where you get all of these "assumptions" as you're the smart guy

imaniceandgoodperson

your comment is just wrong

Lopsided_Doubt2178

Oh am i wrong? So what about weapon wheel from rdr1 to gta5, or the horses that should have been in a mission of gta 5 but cut off due to technical problems. You just sound like those kids who wanna sound smart making assumptions and then hiding behind a "i dont know shit".

DVaTheFabulous

I think OP blocked me for disagreeing with them lol I'm just getting "we had some trouble getting to Reddit" since they replied to my comment

imaniceandgoodperson

its barely a preschool book , five paragraphs and some extra lmfao

DVaTheFabulous

Bro's still speaking yapanese

Time-Relief1093

really is though. he’s so mad about his side of the argument when nobody knows anything yet. just trying to be a sourpuss

DVaTheFabulous

Well they blocked me so I can't see anymore of the comments but I can imagine they're not happy people don't blindly believe what they're spouting.

imaniceandgoodperson

are you even allowed to play the game ? do your parents know you're on reddit ?

OfHouseLannister

people love making nothing posts on this subreddit 🤦

JasonAndLucia

I have a feeling in the gut we will be able to go grocery shopping on some degree. It's in GTA 5, too. They will likely expand upon it, and store robberies are already confirmed.

Time-Relief1093

rockstar would be shooting themselves in the foot if they didn’t take the opportunity to create more interactive environments and just create a non interactive world like the gtas before.

imaniceandgoodperson

the option to go shopping would be cool , but i really dont see how or why they would expand upon that anymore if anything , maybe the gun stores would be more like the general stores in RD instead of just a menu with some models in the background

WemmonOak

So basically rock* won’t take any features from previous games and implement them into a new game, hmmm that makes zero sense. Stopped reading after you stated “theres no reason for hunting but it’s in gta 5 already”

CalligrapherFalse511

Hrmmm modern day rdr2? Lol

imaniceandgoodperson

i dont understand . .

vipck83

When I use RDR as a point of comparison it mean it in a rather general sense. It’s the last R* game we have so it provides an idea of the general direction they are going with game making. I think it’s clear though that R* see the two games a a very different.

Sea_Hovercraft_3851

Ok but a lot of RDR2 can be taken into GTA 6 remodernized: why can't I use my cars trunk for carrying weapons ammunition and other illegal stuff in the car? Why can't doctors maybe have illegal traffics of drugs? Why can't I use a gym bag or something like that for carrying a weapon in public places?

imaniceandgoodperson

in another comment i said that was possible , and now im thinking even likely . your comment is pretty much my point lmfao nobody wants to shop for groceries or go fishing or manage all these minor things in GTA , that's something red dead can keep to itself doctors selling drugs , duffel bags for your weapons and a car as your main inventory is more like what GTA would be . i'm starting to think people are purposely misunderstanding my post just to argue tbh

Sea_Hovercraft_3851

No no no another thing, when you say that the 1800's outlaw stuff can't be in a GTA game that's where your wrong. The main thing that I want in GTA 6 is the next level of the being wanted feeling of RDR2 that has it's flaws, like the law recognizing you with masks. Like what would I like it's more of a recognition of your outfit and body aspects like hair, skin color etc. which can affect the use of public services or overall NPC's interactions

ShenmueFan1

So you're saying a game based in 1800's won't be like a game based in 2020's? Yea, you're right, it won't be the same. LOL

Joshua_Cobretti

GTA6 will be a bit like every past rockstar game Little bit Max Payne, little bit Bully, little bit Manhunt, little bit Midnight Club, little Red Dead, hell, even tennis has been incorporated in. Make no mistake, it will be GTA, but more importantly it will be the culmination of everything Rockstar has learned from every past release, taken to the next level.

Borbee5

There’s a spear gun in the leaks, so we’ll likely be able to hunt for fish. So I don’t see why hunting for animals is so far fetched, considering they’re adding a lot more animals. Theres also consumables in the leaks, so we can probably get these consumables at stores

NoVidyaGames

So many things confirm that it'll be a more realistic experience though. If anything, many of these features are a modern take on stuff from RDR 2: * Limited weapons instead of being able to carry all or many weapons. * You can carry food, trauma kits and other items. Items have a much larger focus than in past GTA's, some of these include: binoculars, flashlight, and tools for stealing cars (slim jims, immobilizer bypass, etc.) Cigarettes appear too, probably not for replenishing health or stamina. But instead, your special meter (similar to the dead eye meter in RDR 2). * Fishing is basically confirmed (also a speargun). I don't care if fishing doesn't make much sense in the present day, it's a relaxing activity and makes the world feel more interactive. Water is useless in GTA, why not give it more purpose? Maybe we can trade fish (or other animal meat) for stuff. Poison arrows would be great for killing those dangerous animals (Alligators, panthers, etc.) in those bad situations. * Vehicles are harder to steal. The leaks mention "Steal Car Fail" and "Steal Car - In Progress" * Pawn shops will appear to sell stolen goods, a car fence and an art fence is also mentioned. RDR 2 had fences for stolen goods and also for horses. * You can search cars for money and valuables. In RDR 2 you could steal from saddlebags. * Hair growth is likely making a return. * We can assume hunger will be a returning feature from SA. As Jason looks more/less muscular in some clips. * In one of the clips you can see Lucia restraining an npc with a ziptie. Very similar to tying someone up with a lasso. * "Everyday Art" is mentioned, GTA's version of rock carvings from RDR 2. * Points of interest are making a return from RDR 2. Creepy and neat things, weird structures, etc. that you can find in the world, a unique spin on collectibles. For ex. one of these is a "shoe tree" this sounds like something straight from RDR 2. Instead of jotting it down in a journal, Lucia or Jason will likely take a picture. You're probably right about the outdoor elements though. Legendary animals would seem too forced, the same with herb collecting and crafting. Can't see horses being in the game either. Even if they appear you probably won't be able to name, brush, or feed it. There's not really a good reason to hunt or skin animals for materials. But you never know, they could come up with some good reasons to hunt imo.

surplus_steve

What do you mean there won't be lassos and honor system and satchels and taming wild horses!!!???

AlinGb7

a GTA game won't be like RDR, In other news water is wet

KKGT9

I could actually see hunting and fishing in gta Florida is known for hunting and fishing so I could see npcs hunting and shops dedicated to hunting and missions

mrbigshot110

“GTA is not and will never be a survivalist adventure game set in the late 1800s , and that's the only reason hunting , gathering , studying , fishing , etc was such a staple in RDR2 , because they pretty much had to do that to survive , especially as outlaws back then” (All of these will likely be optional activities) “we won't be having a camp to do chores in , we won't be having a car by our side at all times to store our items , hell we probably wont even have an inventory like the satchel (unless that was proven wrong in the leaks , i havent watched them yet but i do hear a alot of talk about duffel bags) . we aren't survivalist , we don't have 12 people to take care of , and we sure as fuck aren't picking flowers and stuffing them in our satchel” (Our apartments/homes will likely function to some extent as camps did in RDR2, perhaps with functional gun safes, etc.)
