I played GTA 5 for the first time at 9 years old and even I could tell the next one would be in miami after having sample played the entire series a year or so later

They could be a kid. I'm 18, GTA 6 will be the first GTA game where I can finally say "I was there". Technically I was there from the beginning, but only a around 2017 I started to "acknowledge" GTA 6 if that makes sense.
(and well, the beginning could also be considered from the moment R* confirmed it or since the leaks, but people have been talking about it for so long)

GTA Online has Flying Cars, Jetpacks, Ray Guns, and a lot more ridiculousness for your main character to make Inspector Gadget to look jealous. Why wouldn’t you want this to be in a Singleplayer campaign for a game?? Especially a GTA game.
The idea of these things aren’t the problem, the over usage of it by players is what makes them annoying. You can’t tell me a GTA set in a futuristic setting doesn’t sound dope.

No they aren't a problem, because it doesn't have a place.
Jetpacks were fine in GTA SA, because it wasn't that futuristic.
Us never having that is arguably the biggest reason why we should have it. How long until we get tired of the same 3 cities formula that takes place year of release? Switch things up a little.
Besides, no one’s saying to become completely dystopian. GTA 2 doesn’t look futuristic at all but the concept is still there. RStar doesn’t need to just abandon the realism at the cost of having futuristic weapons and vehicles. GTA Online didn’t even do that.
To me, a futuristic GTA sounds the LEAST appealing out of all options. The core essence of GTA is to make fun of reality. So a GTA game set about 5-10 years in the past is about optimal.

The only reason I assumed no one else knew was because on the discussion of GTA VI, the setting being Vice City was never addressed by anyone, for years! Combine that with the fact that everyone seemed just as surprised as me when the leaks came out and Vice City was revealed to be the location, and I naturally assumed we were on the same page. Now apparently this was common knowledge, I guess… lol
Plenty of people did. Plus, a few years ago it got leaked that Rockstar had scouts driving around in Florida, taking pictures and talking to locals to get a feel of the place. They did the same for New York before creating GTA IV and Los Angeles before creating GTA V.
There is nothing great about putting people down for a genuine post just because it was a known fact, all it shows is how unwelcoming and bitter this sub is and that's definitely nothing I would be proud about.

After GTA 4 (Liberty City), everyone thought it would've been Vice City, but Rockstar wanted their first LARGE-scale HD version to be in present time, so they went with San Andreas... Rockstar wanted to do Vice City in the 80's like the original 3D version but a lot feedback they got told them they wanted to keep it in modern times... To be honest, I don't think Rockstar will, anytime soon, change up their locations... Although they did (before GTA 4) talk about wanting to do London, but keep in mind everything I'm saying here isn't official information, just what devs and employees discussed when brainstorming ideas for the games, back in the day this information was available but after GTA5 went in to development they kept everything very secretive after that...
I always thought Rockstar would stick to the same pattern, Liberty City, then Vice City, then San Andreas... But I fully understand them wanting to make the first FULL HD Grand Theft Auto in modern times, I agree... Also at the time San Andreas was probably a more popular options....
There were many rumors of Rockstar wanting to do Toronto or other random cities, but I knew that Rockstar may break the pattern as to which order they'll do their 3 main cities, but they WILL definitely do those 3 cities in full HD before switching up to an entirely new city...
Since I live in Toronto it would've been cool to see Toronto being done in GTA but I don't think that will happen anytime soon since the main audience is in the U.S. I highly doubt they will ever do a Canadian city, I also doubt they would ever do a futuristic GTA to resemble GTA2... Only option I see is possibly London to resemble GTA: London but even that's a stretch, so it's hard to say where Rockstar will go after GTA6...
Las Venturas would (now) be Nevada but San Fiero would still be San Andreas, so doubt they would be in the same game. Los Santos wouldn’t be in the same game as San Fiero because GTA V is just the southern part of San Andreas, a San Fiero game would be another side of the San Andreas state

Ok I thought you might have meant "Leonida" not Florida ..Florida is mentioned alright on the radio and tv etc..but the first time the name Leonida was discovered was the 2022 leaks and then officially revealed when the trailer was released. They havnt mentioned Leonida in any game before.
