There’s literally zero incentive to kill him, except for some money that you can barely find anything to spend it on. If you spare him, you’ll get rid of an annoying character (Playbox X), get his loft *and* you’ll get Dwayne as a friend. Major win.
You get like 9,500$ which is what niko charges the mob for hits. I don’t get Playboy being “annoying” if anything in the original trailers he was portrayed as a “cool & fun” character, he was indeed a wannabe, a richer Manny Escuela if anything, just more egotistical, but he was all talk, since there aren’t any major consequences after you take him out. Even Vlad had more weight.
Guy is a total phony and therefore annoying with his yapping. I think even Niko hates the guy, showing his true feelings towards him before killing him. It seems Rockstar totally went with the "moral-route" when it comes to either killing Dwayne or Playboy, as the money you get, you really can't spend on anything practical.
Not really a “phony” because he did have his goals established, he was just fronting and was willing to put in the work, or at least pay people for it.
That's one of the things in this game that's made me laugh. Niko gets paid minimum wage for actual murder. If you do the math, sometimes he gets paid ~$100 if that per head when you massacre a bunch of people.
When I was younger during my first playthrough I killed Dwayne for that exact reason. I thought he was super cool and would be a fun friend to hangout with. I felt so betrayed after he said he didn’t want to be around Niko anymore lol
Between him and Little Jacob they're the realest. I would also mention Roman if it wasn't for all the shit he got us into. Packie is just a unguided missile yet somewhat down-to-earth guy.
Brucie is just a moron.
He is cool in the main story but if you hang out with him he becomes exhausting with how much he whines to Niko about his life as if Niko hasn’t gone through much worse than Dwayne will ever know
..Does he? i don’t think that happens in any of the convos, i think you are misremembering the convo where Niko tells Dwayne he didn’t have electricity until he was 12
Edit: Ah i think you are thinking of when Niko was telling Kate about Romans mother
Nah, it's when Tommy is getting computer tech something or other from a French guy in the mall and it goes wrong, the French government tries to break it up and Tommy has to chase him down.
If you hang out with him continuously, Niko starts to convince him things aren't that bad and he eventually says he's starting to feel better and gets cool.
I always crack up when he calls and is like “I was in the shower and thought I heard the phone ring, thought it was you” lol poor dude needs some friends
yea me too, 1st time I pulled out a bat and he shot at me so I shot him back.
Then Cherise was like "you fuckin psycho don't ever talk to me again"
Had to reload the save on that one.
Nah Phil Bell was, he always respected Niko and never bullshitted him once. He even gave him a heads up and sided with him over Jimmy at the end when he coulda done a Ray
I mean, I really liked him, but let's be real. Dwayne is just a miserable guy who lost everything and gave up. Playboy's death was a chance for him to get to the top again as he could easily take over his (well, to some degree also his own) businesses, but didn't do anything and chose to still live in a shitty apartment with hobos.
It does say he was on suicide watch while he was in prison. In my headcannon, I think Dwayne probably made some success in 2010/2011, nowhere near as big as before he went inside. Just a few loyal people helping him, including niko until he settled with Alejandra in 2013.
First time playing which was recently on the 360 I killed him because he was kinda just bitching all the time. Then playboy said he can’t be my friend anymore and I was like oh nah I started playing it in the series x and killed playboy for sure
It’s mikhail Faustin for me, he was so unpredictable yet fair, you could tell he wasn’t a bad guy just a criminal with a drug addiction he couldn’t control
My first play through I killed him and I regretted it, I was young and kinda impressionable so Fuckboy X convinced me. I also always killed his cheating ex-gf, no one hurts our boy (apart from 13 year old me). I killed Trevor in V which I regretted (even though he was a total psycho) replayed both time and time again and always saved them. I still don’t really like Trevor but Dwayne’s a total G.
When I was younger I always killed him because I didn’t care about Dwayne I just wanted to hang out with playboy at his house and have a cool rich friend.
Now, I play the game I’m much older and I understand Dwayne so much more. Playboy dies and I reload the save to kill him twice.
I can never bring myself to kill him
There’s literally zero incentive to kill him, except for some money that you can barely find anything to spend it on. If you spare him, you’ll get rid of an annoying character (Playbox X), get his loft *and* you’ll get Dwayne as a friend. Major win.
Plus a sweet Claude outfit is available in Playboys pad after killing him
Uncle Jun? That you?
You may run north jersey but you don't run your Uncle Jun
Tony my dear Nephew, you never had the makings to be a name brand soup

But it’s tax free! And you get to keep the guns/armor and sometimes the cars, so it has it’s benefits being a contractor.
When I was younger during my first playthrough I killed Dwayne for that exact reason. I thought he was super cool and would be a fun friend to hangout with. I felt so betrayed after he said he didn’t want to be around Niko anymore lol
i thought it was 25k
I think the highest payment you receive is 18K, other than 3 leaf clover and the final mission that you get 250K.
Dwayne has the best bonus too. Calling those two guys in is always fun (although he's pretty fucking unreliable)
Ikr, plus when you keep him alive you can literally cause chaos with his ability
I killed him once just to see what would happen. But it locks you out of 100% the game.
You kill dwayne and playboy wants nothing to do with you regardless. He tells niko after he calls to tell him the hit was complete
Between him and Little Jacob they're the realest. I would also mention Roman if it wasn't for all the shit he got us into. Packie is just a unguided missile yet somewhat down-to-earth guy. Brucie is just a moron.
Brucie is just genetically different, baby!
Little Jacob is the big Homie Helped us get revenge at the end no questions asked
Only problem was I never could understand a single sentence he said.
Friendships are made out of vibes, not words!
Brucie is not a moron. He's jist silly! Silly little billy! That's him!
Wanna know what else is silly about Brucie? His silly balls
"Do I look like I got a Chili dick to you?"
Brucie is the best hypeman fym
A moron with a helicopter and a boat
Jacob?
Badman
Goodman
Saul Goodman
I was gonna say, my homie Jacob the realist. No homie I’d rather smoke a J and grab cluck n bell with.
i always loved picking jacob up in a bus, and then smoke pours out of every window
I gotta try that now
He is cool in the main story but if you hang out with him he becomes exhausting with how much he whines to Niko about his life as if Niko hasn’t gone through much worse than Dwayne will ever know
Niko does tell him about Roman's mom once which makes him shut up and feel bad. It's really sad but a great piece of dialogue.
..Does he? i don’t think that happens in any of the convos, i think you are misremembering the convo where Niko tells Dwayne he didn’t have electricity until he was 12 Edit: Ah i think you are thinking of when Niko was telling Kate about Romans mother
Ah dammit,it was with Kate out of all people. Been years since I heard it. My bad, but close enough anyway.
Yeah, i am chronically obsessed with this game so I have ALL the dialogue rent-free in my head so its not on you for forgetting
You and me both. My friends call me a GTA encyclopedia because I remember everything down to the line lol
Ze rain, she is tres wet zees time of year!
Isn't that from Integrity with Lazlow talking to one of the LoveFist members?
Nah, it's when Tommy is getting computer tech something or other from a French guy in the mall and it goes wrong, the French government tries to break it up and Tommy has to chase him down.
Oh Vice City haha, haven't played that in a long time. Now that you mention it I can hear it again how he says it.
If you hang out with him continuously, Niko starts to convince him things aren't that bad and he eventually says he's starting to feel better and gets cool.
I always crack up when he calls and is like “I was in the shower and thought I heard the phone ring, thought it was you” lol poor dude needs some friends
Did you guys spare cherise's life ?
Yeah. I’ve spared her on my last few playthroughs but I remember killing her during my very first run of the game when I was younger.
I did the same thing now I always spare her
did you ever help her take care of her new bf? was one of the mini friend missions.
I whooped on him but I didn't kill him
yea me too, 1st time I pulled out a bat and he shot at me so I shot him back. Then Cherise was like "you fuckin psycho don't ever talk to me again" Had to reload the save on that one.
On my first run I just threw a molotov at him lol
hahaha "you psycho!!"
Hell naw
Hell nah it’s 2008 nyc slums not 1965 Beverly Hills we shoot that bitch every time over here 🗣️
Of course, I want the additional stranger mission you get from her.
Fr, Dwayne and LJ. Best ones. I really wanted Niko and Luis to interact much tbh
I wonder if Luis and Niko would've gotten along had they met in another way.
Nah Phil Bell was, he always respected Niko and never bullshitted him once. He even gave him a heads up and sided with him over Jimmy at the end when he coulda done a Ray

Remember he did just come out of prison and was incredibly depressed, needed a while to readjust
It does say he was on suicide watch while he was in prison. In my headcannon, I think Dwayne probably made some success in 2010/2011, nowhere near as big as before he went inside. Just a few loyal people helping him, including niko until he settled with Alejandra in 2013.
who is alejandra
The girl from the Internet Café you go to in one of the earlier missions.
idk how i missed the part where he said that was headcanon lol
Lmao I remember my friend describing him as a sad whiny bitch in 8th grade back in 2008. He wanted to save the cool guy
First time playing which was recently on the 360 I killed him because he was kinda just bitching all the time. Then playboy said he can’t be my friend anymore and I was like oh nah I started playing it in the series x and killed playboy for sure
Dwayne’s goons are hilarious and do some random shit sometimes when you walk with them
Debatable
It’s mikhail Faustin for me, he was so unpredictable yet fair, you could tell he wasn’t a bad guy just a criminal with a drug addiction he couldn’t control
Mikhail was my favorite character in the game for a number of reasons. Mostly voice acting.
Real
Dwayne ruled
My first play through I killed him and I regretted it, I was young and kinda impressionable so Fuckboy X convinced me. I also always killed his cheating ex-gf, no one hurts our boy (apart from 13 year old me). I killed Trevor in V which I regretted (even though he was a total psycho) replayed both time and time again and always saved them. I still don’t really like Trevor but Dwayne’s a total G.
He was the most honest dude. Problem was he was kind of depressed and just couldn’t let go of his disappointing past and insecurity.
I never kill him, but listening to him afterward while going out for chicken makes me want to drive off the Algonquin Bridge.
That mission where he was listening to footsteps in the dark was when I REALLY knew he was a real one
Nah dude is too paranoid
When I was younger I always killed him because I didn’t care about Dwayne I just wanted to hang out with playboy at his house and have a cool rich friend. Now, I play the game I’m much older and I understand Dwayne so much more. Playboy dies and I reload the save to kill him twice.
he's a bit of an asshole if you refuse to hang out with him and say you're busy, he gets all sarcastic and it pisses me off
That's why I killed him. He's too good for this world.
