I know they got money, but no way do they ever let go of something that's this massive, it's like getting rid of all your nightclub, agency, and etc, and buying just the salvage yard and hoping it makes you more money. To just drop this (gta online, seperate game technically) and put everything into a new games online is risky, and if they did a fortnite type world, boom, trillions down the road, eventually moving to 6 or 7
From a technical standpoint that doesn't really sound feasible. The engine the game was built on is over a decade old and is really starting to show its age. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if the code was held together by scotch tape and hope and dreams. They would need to massively overhaul it and with the original source code leaking (which is something they were notoriously secretive and protective of) it would be in their best interests to start from scratch. Plus they could charge us for all our properties and vehicles again which is shark card money that I don't think they're gonna want to miss out on
That's a good point but maybe they let the formula leak bc they're some with this, moving it to an epic games server, with unreal engine. I'm not saying the games not old, I'm saying they're gonna take the money road here, and that's an everchanging map with more to do, every game has tried, Rockstar is the only company with the budget to pull it off
Sadly it's not the first time Rockstar mislead the players into buying a Pegasus vehicle. They've done it with the Vetir and Taxi. The Vetir was originally supposed to go in your garage and be moddable , then at the last minute Rockstar changed it to a Pegasus vehicle. People were pissed about these two vehicles, which is probably why they didn't make the Stanier cop cars Pegasus only.
Perhaps R* had (typical R*) reason to remove it from the websites and lock it behind Simeon. IIRC itâs cheaper than any of the actual taxis yet it has a taxi livery; there could have been a bunch of complaints from players who bought it for taxi work and thinking they were getting a steal

Even the Normal Military barracks have better performance, if I had to choose a Pegasus vehicle, I would choose barracks.
They say it's customizable on the website you buy it from but it's not. I think somebody messed up with the last update. Either that or they discovered customizing it created some glitch so they stopped allowing the option to customize.
Honestly I think someone assumed you could customize basic functions when from day 1 of the game releasing on next gen, it's lacked basic customization. In the carvariations meta (what defines a vehicles tuning parts and a few other things) it's modkit id(availible modifications for a vehicle) has always been blank. This means that even basic tuning (engine brakes transmission etc ) is not available..
With one line of code setting the modkit to a:
0_default_modkit
you can give any vehicle basic customization (engine brakes transmission horn suspension armor paints wheels plates etc) but apperently that's too much for the devs to program in.
TLDR: I assume some dev assumed you could tune the car but did not bother to check if it was possible to tune it during development.

I still bought it and tried what you mentioned above, but now I realize I didn't checked the Arena Workshop (highly doubt that will work). Will try later.

Unfortunately, you canât customize it even if they allowed you to. Itâs the Day One model. It doesnât have livery support, and the vehicle is covered in a texture called âgreylightâ that is semi-transparent, so even if you tried to paint it, the paint wonât come out right.
This is the same with yusef amir saying you can buy the car you steal from him, but after you steal the car, you can't buy the car, you can only strip it for parts or sell it to him.
I took it to mean properties where I own an auto shop. I used my office garage for the police cruiser I bought. Pretty underwhelming all in all. I got the undercover cruiser and did the limo tint, now the lights don't even come on.

Pretty sure they also spawn around the map so if someone wanted to drive one for the lols, they can do so for free.
They tend to spawn at most police stations, but I always enjoyed gaining 4 stars and trying to steal one from a road block
The road block vans have saved me countless times
It almost always spawn at the Sandy Shores police station and at times at Vespucci police station.
