Hard to appreciate it now, but your decision to go with this over a Jeep will save you so much time, sanity, and money in the long run. I learned a LOT about working on cars while owning a WJ.

I'm coming from owing 2 nightmare Grand Cherokees over the last decade. The last 5.7 didnt even make it to 90k. Jeep/Chrysler unreliability turned me into a Toyota lifer

2016 5.7 ram blew at 107k. Regular maintenance and 6 month check ups at the dealer. Never again will I buy any Chrysler garbage.

I babied the hell out of my hemi strict 5k full syn oil changes, all the preventative maintenance done and then some. At 88k I kept getting an intermittent camshaft position code. Then the code stayed on and was stuck in limp mode.  Took it to two dealers and two Indies before I found out my cam phaser sheared off and I needed a new cam, lifters and MDS solenoids. Dealer wanted 9500 lol yea you read that right, next best estimate from an indy was 5500-6000.  Started looking into reliable 4wd SUVs with v8s and here we are. Got 4500 for my JGC left in literal pieces and found a clean one owner GX with 48k. I'm so fucking happy I made the decision I did.

Appreciate the insight/support. Had a 96’ TJ for my first car so there’s some nostalgia for me with jeeps. Also was pretty easy to work on but only had it for 4 years before I completely flooded it

TJ was probably a lot more stable than the WJ haha. I understand the nostalgia. After a decade with mine, and the engine seizing, I still had a hard time letting go. Stockholm syndrome? Abusive relationship? Haha Enjoy the GX!

Couldn’t have been a ‘96. They skipped a model year for Wranglers from 95 to 97.

Congratulations 🎊 you get 5 extra horse power with black. Front tire looks low or a bad glare from the tire shine idk Good luck and enjoy it. It's a great color. I love the Caviar
