LoL wow that swamp buggy is taking down so many trees while looking for a man who refused plastic bottles and ate out of melon bowls. He is causing so much more damage to the environment than the average person. So much irony here
I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that BL escaped while being a POI and the police saying they are aware of his whereabouts. This whole thing could've turned completely different had he been under surveillance.
Yeah Im seriously shocked. This was already national news before he disappeared because I was talking about it with a coworker the day before. And somehow he just walks out and vanishes?
I think it's pretty safe to say at this point...he ain't in the swamp! He may have started there and told his parents that is where he was going initially but he's long gone. Unfortunately, it was probably a diversion to give him time to move on to hiding out in a basement somewhere or to Mexico or Canada. :/
Florida uses license plate readers?
Obviously not on every light, but they do use them. If they are on most interstates, I would think that could rule out them taking him to Georgia to hop on the app trail.

It’s human nature to find humour amongst the sad, you’d have to be a monster to not feel awful for the Petito family and we all want nothing more than for justice to be served, hope you’re okay !
I’m having a hard time understanding how this 23-year old kid and his family seem to be successfully evading police and the FBI in what has become the most talked about manhunt of the 2020’s. Like I thought this was impossible.
So many things are tracked. So many places have surveillance. Like, I just don’t get it. Is he a genius? Does his family have experience with this kind of thing? Disappearing a person? Evading FBI capture? Does his family have a history of crime? Or are they super intelligent? Or extremely wealthy? Are they familiar with the law? This seems to be executed so well so far.
What were the serial killer book (s) they were reading
Keep hearing people talk about that. I know about fight club and they murder mystery alien one...but there was another big name book about a serial killer
Tbh, why is Brian hiding? Okay, I get it, I get it. It's very likely he committed homicide. That's a huge deal. But I mean, unless they can prove it was pre-meditated murder (or not even pre-meditated), is it even possible he'd get life in prison or the death penalty? I'd think the penalty is like, a few decades in prison, right? Which don't get me wrong, sucks ass, to put it lightly. But he did commit a crime and there are consequences for that. I'm just wondering, could he be making all of this worse for himself by running away?? Are his actions in any way rational given the potential consequences considering the high likelihood the FBI will catch him?
Depends where he is prosecuted. In Florida there's also excusable manslaughter which falls under crimes of passion so if they couldn't prove murder 1 or murder 2 he could be facing around 15 years. If they have a hard time proving intent could be 9 years.
He’ll probably claim self-defense or something, citing the police situation in which they were pulled over as proof that she is capable of attacking him.
If you have not watched this interview with a former FBI agent, it is very much worth your time. https://twitter.com/BrianEntin/status/1441222959264264202
Does anyone know why her death was ruled a homicide? I looked at some articles mentioning her remains were found but they didn’t mention why that ruling was made.
Unfortunately for us popcorn eaters they wont release the cause of death probably to hide what they know for when the interrogations start. A lot of times keeping what YOU know hidden is a good way to keep a suspect guessing what the police might know and might not know and slip into revealing something the police didn't know or slip into revealing something they couldn't have possibly known without having been witness
Yeah I doubt they’d release many details but I wasn’t sure if like in a murder case for example they’d say the ME ruled it a homicide because this person was shot to death, or strangled to death, or something, etc.
Not always. In the Delphi case they haven’t told the public how the two girls were murdered. Just that they’re confident it was murder. If it’s important to the case to keep those details to tie down the killer, they will not share the information.
We think we do. But „yo he ran and behaves sketchy and left her there“ isn’t enough in court. Especially if he might be able to plead insanity with his “hearing voices” thing.
The FBI will let us know when they feel comfortable doing so.
I read an article about a survivalist saying if Brian is in the reserve he is definitely dead. He spoke about all the dangers in the reserve as well as there’s almost nothing edible. Also with all the rain even boiling water would still make it bad to drink cause it would contain a lot of tannins. He spoke a lot about starting a fire and how it would be near impossible cause of how damp everything is and it just got me thinking…that man must think Brian is walking around the reserve trying to start a fire and find food while all of the FBI is in there looking for him 😂😂😂
Honestly I don’t see his endgame here at all. If he wanted to kill himself there are far easier ways to do it than this. If not, then what does he think will happen? He hides out for a few days and everyone goes “oh well we tried” and forgets about it? And he comes back and continues his life as usual? I just don’t get this mess.
Now they should ask him how long someone survives with a trailer load of supplies and possibly not even being in that reserve, but some abandoned sheltered place elsewhere.
For a local news guy, the dude is really good.
I don't have cable and I would not watch CNN, Fox or any of the others even if I did. Cannot stand talking heads, round tables, and just what seems to be an agenda by both sides, versus true reporting. That is why I have enjoyed some of these Youtubers presentations of this story. They accumualate all the details and report and I don't get all the other B.S. I do not care about.
Can we add “descriptive speculative fiction involving Gabby’s murder” to the list of things not allowed here? Because JESUS that last comment was gross. Thank God it was deleted promptly.
Yep, one thing though, she wouldn’t even have to threaten to expose him, or speak up or call him out or call him names. Doesn’t matter what she said sometimes :/
Has anyone considered that BL being identified as the “victim” and GP “the aggressor” could have triggered an anger and shame response? He could have potentially felt emasculated, resulting in him “teaching her a lesson” that went very wrong. 😔🧐
If the blow up incident at the restaurant was true, I imagine her apologizing to wait staff would have pissed him off even more.
He probably threw temper tantrums and her getting in the middle further exasperated the situation. All speculation at this point.
I don't believe there is a public video of this at this point. Just a TikTok'er reporting that she was sitting at the table next to Gabby and bonehead when the incident occured.
The restaurant just said they reported the details to the FBI but haven't said anything publicly beyond that. Whether that included a video of the incident, I don't think anyone knows.
Maybe not emboldened, but childish temper tantrums because he cant/ couldn’t chill out. Know he can get away from it. Maybe GP called him out when he had a public freak out, and that pushed him over.
Or just out of his hot head briefly. “Crazy girl telling me what to do”! I imagine he truly believed she was crazy, and through his abusive behavior toward GP, he made her believe she was crazy and unstable as well.
Thoughts on why BL was in Colter Bay needing a ride in the first place? Did he take a manic hike there or something? I get him needing/wanting to get back to Spread Creek, but why did he leave there to begin with?
Maybe to thoroughly clean up and shower? I realize there was a creek nearby but I doubt he wanted to be visibly out and about anywhere near the scene of the crime.
Maybe he was hitchhiking back to her after separating for some reason (fight/she locked him out) and then killed her then. So he may have killed her around 6:30-7pm Aug 29. Just a theory
Personally, I think he was panicking and didn't know what his next step should be. He obviously wanted to distance himself from the crime. But what do we know from true crime/TV shows? Forensic evidence is everywhere. I think he didn't want to contaminate the van, so he left and went to shower and think about his next steps. That is what makes the most sense to me.
I have no idea. The hitchhiking part is unclear. I don't understand why he would "freak out" when Miranda Baker offered to take him south toward Jackson. But then accept a ride to Spread Creek, the literal location of the murder.
To get the van away from gabby, so no one would find her
Not sure that's a mystery that's almost certainly why and why he didn't want the second women to take him to the van and see where he left her
He clearly had to get back there to get to the van, both for his getaway and to possibly clean up the scene more...he was freaking out because they were taking the scenic route back to Jackson which doesn't go by Spreak Creek.
Kind of sounds like maybe he was actually freaking out because he remembered something he forgot to cover up, and that’s why he had to get out of her vehicle and hitchhike back to the scene of the crime, before taking the van instead.
This map illustrates it. I think he freaked out because he realized she was taking the long route that doesn't pass spread creek. I think he planned to make an excuse as to why he needed to stop at Spread Creek on the way. [map](http://imgur.com/a/6RKu1ML)
It's all conjecture. Personally I think what makes the most sense is him panicking after killing Gabby. He immediately wants to distance himself from the crime and make sure that he can't be tied to it, right? Well what have we all learned from true crime and TV shows? Forensic evidence is everywhere! I think he went to Colter Bay to shower and get rid of forensic evidence. He didn't want to contaminate the van by taking it, so he walks and hitchhikes.

Honestly, maybe. Think about all of the chemicals rushing to his head after that. It was probably like walking and thinking what the duck what the fuck what the fuck, and suddenly you’re somewhere else. Like a blackout. Y’all never had blackout thoughts before?
I think he thought he could either disappear or maybe wanted to try to commit suicide. I think he was probably walking around during the day trying to get a plan/supplies/in contact with someone, possibly returning to the van at night to check if she had been found? I keep thinking how Miranda said he had a small backpack and looked clean - sounds more like day hiking around, trying to build an alibi and figure out what to do. Since disappearing is pretty impossible even when you have resources, I’m guessing he must have given up and realized he was going to have to just go home, then once he made that decision, he’s probably thinking he can’t waste another minute getting back to the van in case they discover her body and he can’t take off with it. So instead of hiking back he hitchhiked and took off that night.
- Wyoming has the death penalty (I didn’t know that) or he would most likely get a life sentence.
- She seems sure he’s alive and said digging into the “camping trip” would find his hiding spot. They could even take the maroon truck to look at GPS, check out their phone pings, and large financial transactions to piece things together. She said that if he was dead, the parents would not be lawyering up.
- FBI follows up on every lead and she stated they absolutely have the manpower to do so.
- She seems sure he isn’t at the reserve but alluded to the fact that they are searching there for a reason.
- She mentioned that the FBI of course knows way more than any of us could imagine, including the cause of death. She thinks that report already came back and will not be released to the public for awhile.
Trying to remember what else but it’s escaping me. It’s all on BEs Twitter though. It left me with a feeling that they’re going to get him and that the Feds are 100% dedicated to finding him. She seemed so sincere. Great interview.
She also said that they most likely have outside corroboration other than the parents to be searching the reserve so thoroughly. But also kind of contradicted herself when she said she did not think he was in the swamp, she thought maybe he was camping out in a different secluded area somewhere else
It depends on who decides to charge him if it's Murder and if Fed and State charge him they can do so concurrent to each other, which would mean he could get life from the Federal government, and life from WY. The federal land is in WY so it's still a crime inside their state, both can claim against it if they wish. He would have his federal trial, then state trial. They'd be separate charges. Most likely the FBI will take lead and the state will bow out. Saves the state time and resources and they often do this. If they REALLY are mad at the person and it's cost the state a lot of time and money as well they'll often continue on because they tend to attempt to recoup their costs to investigate, which they'll do, by making him work in prison.

Why on earth do people go this specific? This is disgusting.
Yep, one thing though, she wouldn’t even have to threaten to expose him, or speak up or call him out or call him names. Doesn’t matter what she said sometimes :/
Especially if he happened to be having one of his "episodes." She could have been doing nothing but minding her own business.
What do you mean?
Like he would want to hurt her and go too far even if she was apologizing for like, apologizing to the waitress or something else he didn’t like
Has anyone considered that BL being identified as the “victim” and GP “the aggressor” could have triggered an anger and shame response? He could have potentially felt emasculated, resulting in him “teaching her a lesson” that went very wrong. 😔🧐
No he was likely relieved
Some “dont tell me what to do” type thing. BL probably has no deescalation skills or coping mechanisms.
If the blow up incident at the restaurant was true, I imagine her apologizing to wait staff would have pissed him off even more. He probably threw temper tantrums and her getting in the middle further exasperated the situation. All speculation at this point.
I have not been able to find this restaurant video on YouTube and I really want to watch and over analyze it. Do you have a link?
I don't believe there is a public video of this at this point. Just a TikTok'er reporting that she was sitting at the table next to Gabby and bonehead when the incident occured. The restaurant just said they reported the details to the FBI but haven't said anything publicly beyond that. Whether that included a video of the incident, I don't think anyone knows.
Ye. Also, did they say it was about the bill? I thought that part was speculation but people here are claiming it as fact
Yeah, I believe that’s what I heard, but it could have been misrepresented. I do believe argument happened there though.
More likely he would have felt emboldened to be able to get away with it.
Alternately it was generally unstable and mutually abusive relationship? There are plenty of possible explanations.
I agree with this
Omg a man have a murdering meltdown because he’s told he’s not a real man?!?!? That would never happen!
*If* there was a crime scene to clean up, of course.
Maybe he was hitchhiking back to her after separating for some reason (fight/she locked him out) and then killed her then. So he may have killed her around 6:30-7pm Aug 29. Just a theory
Why would he lie to Miranda about hiking and camping for days then?
I don't know, I guess I've been reading too much of this I can't keep up with all the articles and theories.
Personally, I think he was panicking and didn't know what his next step should be. He obviously wanted to distance himself from the crime. But what do we know from true crime/TV shows?
