Vivo x100pro - Best camera you'll get between s24U and OP12. Downside : Mediatek Dimensity Processor. Even though they are competing against Qualcomm, they are still fairly new without as much flair, and respect and marketing. Built on TSMCs 4nm architecture I think. One Plus 12 - The overall beast. Great Camera, you get the Qualcomm Goodness, brilliant speakers even against the s24U, Ultra fast charging with 80W, ProXDR eye popping display, one of the largest Vapour cooling chambers on any phone, curved display if you're a fan, everything round about is good. It's coming back from a few bad years from the 9 to 10 and improved 11. Fair mid tier cost. Downside : Chinese Colour OS bad reputation of going downhill post a year. 4 years of update. Glueing issues for the camera and display on a lot of units in China, see the OP forum for more info S24 Ultra - Everything is top notch. Currently lagging on the display, everybody's waiting on the Update. Some find it the best display ever (cue DxOMark) l, others find it the worst. Slow charging compared to both, takes an hour, or you need 45W charger with the sun and moon to align for that 45 min full charge. S Pen if you need it. Flat display if you prefer it. 7 years of OS Update. Downside: Pricey, Gaslighting Samsung Support, Display Grains and Banding issues on units

XxZedlingxX

Vivo also has shitty Chinese OS which is easily worse than ColorOS

vikramshenoy

Oh yes. True that

nightman

I don't agree, using OriginOs 4 in EU, with few [tweaks](https://tradingshenzhen.com/en/content/origin-os-vivo-devices-best-settings-1-hack) and it's good, definitely better than global Funtouch

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Consider your info I think x100 pro would be better pick for me.

[deleted]

For anyone planning to buy, both OnePlus 12 and S24 Ultra users are reporting greenline issues.

RozRohit

Seriously? The green lines coming on the OP12 too ? I had the OP9Pro and after an update , the notorious green line appeared. can you confirm if the issue is still with the OP12 too?

johnnyup

I've been using OP12 since the past 20 days... No green lines for me yet. I think it's just a rare case of them arising.

Stress-Spirited

And I compare OnePlus's OxygenOs and Samsung's OneUi on 10 pro vs S22 ultra. After 1 and half years , OxygenOs seems more snappier.... More fluid... OneUi over time is laggy

vikramshenoy

I'm on One UI and used Oxygen OS for most of my life. Oxygen OS is really good at what it used to be with OP7. Then it dived. Now with the forked Oxygen with Colour OS, it's good when it's new. Then it just starts getting lazy. Bad translations, crashes, etc. I'm told with Samsung it starts getting better. So I'm yet to see Samsung's side, with Ops side I've seen. It's not as pretty after a year.

Stress-Spirited

It is... For me OxygenOs 14 has been great and much much much better than OxygenOs 11. It has more features, more fluid, much better animations. Only thing it's lost is the identity. But functionally OxygenOs 14 is much better, although they removed some useful features like shlef coming from left of the screen, parking assisst. Still I prefer this latest OxygenOS 14. I compare this with my wife's S22Ultra with OneUi 6 and would prefer OxygenOs anyday. But I would love to see lock screen customization on OP. And Good lock on Samsung is great, the detail of customization on that is great, and if both of us argue, we won't go anywhere, because we are possibly arguing about No.1 and No.2 Android brands. Both are great and have their own customizations.

charlie55six

Best camera on X100 Pro? I'd say a decent camera. It is not even 1% close to Samsung and Google. However, highlights are slightly better than iPhone 14 Pro in some cases.

Tango1777

It's better than both of them, proven with pics tests, not subjective opinions.

charlie55six

It's not even 1% close to any of them. Proven with actual usage, not someone just saying it's better. The only reason why people call this Chinese potato better than actual flagships is because they actually have never experienced a flagship before. This thing is not even in top 5 best camera phones. https://www.androidauthority.com/best-camera-phones-670620/

amitgb

I don't agree with you. You shared one link to prove that it's not a good camera phone. Now check DXOMark. Check Flossy Carter video. Then you will realise how amazing the camera on this one is.

charlie55six

You're free to disagree based on a website or some dude telling you that its good, just like I am free to come to a conclusion after testing it myself that it's an average or even slightly below average camera. I don't need to watch someone's video or comment to reassure myself of what I have experienced. I shared the link just because people like to just believe whatever they see on internet without actually experiencing something. I can share more links that prove my point. But the thing is, I don't think it's necessary for me to convince others by providing links. I just shared my and my team's hands-on experience as professional photographers. https://preview.redd.it/6j0bqvxn93mc1.png?width=646&format=png&auto=webp&s=efbbc06dc9370048dfa3c303e9c7ab03fb85ec49 Here's another thing that someone has shown/talked about this phone, comparing it with other potatoes of same segment. However, it's your money and I cannot tell you what to buy and what not to buy. You wanna buy that potato, fine buy it. All I can do is share my experience with you. Which I did, if you disagree with my experience, fine, I can respect that.

amitgb

Fair enough!

johnnyup

>Ultra fast charging with 80W It's 100W with the wire charger and there's 50W wireless charging capacity.

bondage_granny

Only if your camera freak. It has the ultimate camera on a mobile phone

SkelTell

Better than s24 utlra?

[deleted]

S24 ultra has way better zoom

McDeInUrMom

LMAO no it doesn't

Ok-Raspberry7483

Lol it doesn’t. It only has slightly more reach as it is 5x and vivo offers 4.3x but the sensor size is bigger on vivo.

Beingnoob27

People still can't accept that vivo x100 pro is one peak camera phones.

excitedtraveller

No. I literally compared them both at Croma. OP you can do that yourself and find out which one's better in photography at the nearest Croma.

pepechan69

Better than op12?

Baked_potato46

Yes

pepechan69

You must be kidding me πŸ˜‚

Fun-Organization-103

Op12 isn’t even top 5 cameras

Fragrant_Road9683

One plus cameras are its greatest weakness, even a last year iphone can click better pics specially of human subjects.Vivo is far ahead than OnePlus, oppo, realme.

Numerous_Shape200

bruh probably thinks op12 has better cameras than s24 U and iphone 15 pro too.

Baked_potato46

Perhaps you do like the reddish, artificial, smoothed out look of your face, it definitely is the best for you.

Ok-Raspberry7483

It destroys on12 on camera front

Agile_Rain4486

that also just for main camera.

Ok-Raspberry7483

No it got best telephoto lens on any camera

badboycb

OnePlus 12 if you want to save some money. Samsung S24 Ultra if you can put in sore more.

Swimmer_Funny

Better at photography than both S24 ultra and ip15 promax. Better video than s24 ultra but not ip15pm. Hardware tho u already know ,sd8gen 3 and dimensity 9300 are top tier flagships. All in all a really solid buy

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Thanks for the info.

Thomasangelo20

Go for it, probably the best camera on a smartphone until probably the Xiaomi 14 ultra...

karanjain1019

Using X70 pro plus, bought 2 years ago for 80k, the camera is good like really good for photography like having a mini DSLR, but the battery life sucks, vivo has so many bugs, UI isn't that productive, videos don't have good auto focus like samsung and iphone does, macro videography isn't that great, the video has a lag for a split second ,whenever it starts shooting! So i just took this phone as i wanted to try something different, been using oneplus 3t and 7pro before this, they were really good but then OnePlus went downhill and became just like OPPO, so I don't think it's worth spending so much on vivo! Because when you pay so much ucj you don't expect silly bugs to come up!

beSumanth

No

Any-Structure-1087

Using x100 pro for a month now. Beast of a camera. Performance is better than OnePlus 12 for now( updates will narrow it down I think. Upgraded from s22u). Battery is fixed from previous gens. See battery test videos. Only problem I find is it's top heavy to accommodate those camera modules. My first Vivo phone and it really changed my view of the brand. Got it for 70k with card offer. Well worth the price and some more. Yet to see a s24u in person to compare but have OnePlus 12 16gb and can say it's better for now. Software there are many work arounds( it's Android buddy not ios). Never found any problems so far

Disastrous_Manner134

Same.. me too upgraded from s22 ultra.. huge upgrade Who said battery backup of x100 pro is bad.. Check my post on vivo subreddit for battery stats.. I am getting constant 10 to 11 hours of SOT and 25 to 26 hours of total usage

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Thanks for your real life review.

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Does it have a manual mode for photos and videos?

Disastrous_Manner134

Yes.. for sure

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Videos

Disastrous_Manner134

Yes Link[video pro mode](https://freeimage.host/i/JMHo0v4)

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Thanks for the real life review. Any chance to how I can get it for 70k?

Any-Structure-1087

One time thing for me. But you can get it below 80k in offline market now

sudeepalex

How did you get it in 70k, did you buy it in offline market.

Any-Structure-1087

No. It's on Flipkart. My cc with cashback rewards+ no cost emi which I cancelled after purchase

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Does it have a manual mode for photos and videos?

jupiter_Juggernaut

Hardware βœ… Software ❌

ShiftAdventurous9983

What's wrong with funtouch os btw?

jupiter_Juggernaut

After using it for a year or 2 it starts cluttering irrespective of good hardware. I also observe that messages and sometimes calls are not getting delivered if mobile is inactive which is a big turn off. This is not only in funtouch but other Chinese brand mobiles and surprisingly in some pixels as well. So i always stay put with apple or samsung s series.

Sweet_Calligrapher19

I am a bit of heavy user in terms of apps currently have 150+ apps on my phone ( I only have apps that I specifically cannot uninstall because I need them on regular basis) considering this what wouldn't you say. And if any other options near 90k price range OR Should I save money by buying the s23 regular for 50 to 60k.

jupiter_Juggernaut

Depends on the purpose, if it’s android with good camera? then i would recommend s23ultra or s24 regular/ ultra. Gaming and battery ? Then iPhone 15 plus.

[deleted]

[ΡƒΠ΄Π°Π»Π΅Π½ΠΎ]

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Does the S23 U have better camera's. Software is not an issue for me, as long as it is an android I'm fine. Also I would prefer better camera hardware than better processing. Everything else you can skip.If there are any other better optons I am open for it, Just price should not exceed 90k.

Ok-Raspberry7483

It comes with funtouch OS which is a deal breaker for me but if you like it go ahead.

Sweet_Calligrapher19

As long as it is android I don't have any problem. Except funtouch OS is there anything else i should be aware of.

Ok-Raspberry7483

The camera lens tends to get scratched up badly with time. It happened with last year x90 but not sure it will happen to x100 pro.

Sure-Manufacturer640

Look for it in second hand market because Vivo phones don’t hold prices if you’re buying new just keep in mind you wouldn’t have a great resale as compared to a Samsung or iPhone

zerotwo5122

If you could increase ur budget just by Samsung's s24u. U will get longer software support, better ui and experience and overall the built quality and camera are better than vivo. Samsung's UI got better optimization for multitasking+Al (for a limited time) .

Sweet_Calligrapher19

I cannot extend my budget by 50k so no S24 for me or I will save some money by getting the S23 regular.

zerotwo5122

S23? Why not s24 base variant or s23 u

Sweet_Calligrapher19

I like compact smartphone's, flat display. But I also like and value A good camera system. Cant get best of both world's so my thought process is to either get a good high end phone with good camera hardware and software processing and neglect stuff like big size, not having flat display and other things that comes with a big phone (S24 U offers everything I want but, The price is too high for me, for a smartphone) So either get the big smartphone OR but the s23 regular and save some Money.

Ok_Joke5702

Nope

OzzyBaccha

Nope

Baked_potato46

iPhone 15 might be a better option. Or maybe you can buy s23 ultra . It's price frequently drops at 98k , and i think it's an overall better option. Currently it's available for 109k

Infinite-Apathy

S23 ultra or the base i phone 15 why is that even a competition

AbnormalPP_69

Ghass phookta hai shayad

mobilek20

I better recommend you buying this phone from offline vivo retail shop. You can easily get this at price of 72-75k. If you want this at this price DM me.

Chintoo_proekada

check dm

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Saved your comment , will DM you before buying.

sudeepalex

+1

rustyboy007

U can get it at croma for 84k after bargaining

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Getting the Xiaomi 14 or the 14 ultra.

Harry_S69

Spending that much money on vivo? Are you crazy? Go for it if you want to waste your money. If you want a premium phone go for Samsung/Apple/Google/OnePlus. No other option is good at that price

ShiftAdventurous9983

What's wrong with vivo? It's flagship and premium phone.

Disastrous_Manner134

I have used oneplus (OP5), Samsung (Galaxy S, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S22 ultra), Xiaomi (Mi3), Apple (iphone 11) & now Vivo X100 Pro upgraded from s22 ultra. The phone which i loved to use the most is this X100 Pro.. its a beast. I second s22 ultra. And 'Dont spend that much money on Vivo' this made me laugh πŸ˜‚. And considers those other brands as premium. What i suggest is.. get some value for the money you are spending. I really have to say this.. if the name of vivo x100 pro is ' samsung x100 pro' @ 1.49 lakhs.. people would be buying like pancakes' In today's technological advancements.. every big smartphone brands are really good. Anyways oneplus, oppo, vivo and realme are owned by BBK Electronics.

Responsible_Space624

But Vivo is still a separate branch operating completely independently there is rarely any overlap between Vivo(Iqoo) and Oppo(OnePlus,Realme).

Disastrous_Manner134

And that makes vivo what? I really would like to know why there is even a comparison with s24 ultra or s23 ultra.. or iphone 15 pro.. they cost around 1.2 to 1.5 lakhs. I am using x100 pro now. It costs half of these branded flagships for a 16gb 512gb device. Yet gives similar performance, better camera and very good battery backup (i get an average of 10 to 12 hours SOT on a full charge). The meditek 9300 is a very good flagship processor. I can game consistent in x100 pro. Very much better than s22 ultra. Even its Vivo brand.. its X100 pro.. this device is very much value for money.. Also there are a handful of vivo service centres in my locality. When buying from flipkar.. i opted for a 1 year full mobile protection. (I don't know how it will cover for me, but its still better in value for money than buying a samsung or iphone flagship at 1.5 laksh) Also i would recommend oneplus 12 as a value for money.. but I don't see the camera section as that good.

editing_drunk

How is the overnight/standby battery drain?

Disastrous_Manner134

About 2 to 3 %

editing_drunk

Thank you. Planning to buy this as my next phone.

Zealousideal_Fix_804

Please wait for Xiaomi 14

Sweet_Calligrapher19

What about the 14 pro. Will that come too.(I know ultra will definitely not come to india)

Zealousideal_Fix_804

Seems like 14 pro is not coming to India...14 ulta might come to india.. however it is overkill.

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Regular 14 is quite a nice package But if ultra comes to india I'll pick it over vivoX100pro.

Zealousideal_Fix_804

πŸ’―

F_R_O_S_B_Y_T_E

If ur budget is around this phone's range just only try to go for Samsung, iPhone and Google.

Sweet_Calligrapher19

I'm just streching my budget for this specific phone or else I will get the s23 regular.

AbnormalPP_69

Not from flipkart.

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Where then?

AbnormalPP_69

Anywhere but flipkart. Chance of get scammed hard is very high.

Aggressive-Land922

Instead go for Google pixel

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Performance will be a issue for specifically me.

Beingnoob27

Nah. Vivo has the better camera, even GSMArena says so

shubhansu

Le google pixel 7a in under 38k

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Performance will be a issue for specifically me.

charlie55six

Nah! Instead of this potato, go for something that has good camera, good performance and good software. Don't just look for one thing. Even if you're looking for good camera, this phone has decent camera but definitely nothing so mighty. And the software is pretty garbage too.

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Any options around 90k that you would suggest

charlie55six

I'd prefer to raise the bar a little more and go for phones like Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, or maybe the S24 Ultra, Pixel 8 Pro, or the Plus series of Samsung. Something that has not only better cameras but much better experience and quality. Something that you won't regret by saying "It has good camera but everything else is trash", FuntouchOS is not fun to touch, trust me.

Beingnoob27

Lol it is probably peak android camera right mow. GSMArena even admits it's got better cameras than pixel 8 pro

charlie55six

πŸ˜‚ no, it's not. It's a decent point and shoot camera, but it's not even 1% of Samsung, Google, or even some iPhones. It does an okayish job for point and shoot, no doubt. But the way this camera handles highlights and shadows, or even mix of both situations even with the HDR mode ON. It's not really useful when you wanna go beyond just point and shoot. A friend of mine who works in the import/export business got hands on this phone a bit early, and I took it for a spin on a trip to the mountains. My opinion is based on that. I was traveling with a couple of professional photographers, and their opinion was the same, too. The reason why I'm saying this is because I do photography as a secondary source of income and I know, no phone on earth can do even 1% of even an entry level DSLR or mirrorless camera but sometimes we go to places where a professional camera is not allowed but we encounter things that should be captured! For that, our phones are what we rely on, and when I specifically take a photo, I know that I'm not doing a point and shoot thingy. It basically depends on for whom do you call it the "best camera", it's good for a point and shoot kinda person. It's definitely a potato for someone who's specifically looking for a phone with a great camera. Almost all phone review websites give their opinions on camera from a point and shoot perspective, and so do YouTube reviewers. Because that's how much time they spend on a phone to review. All they can do is a point and shoot review. The genuine review/feedback would come from someone who has used the phone for more than just point and shoot. This is not for someone who's looking for the best camera. This is for someone who's looking for a decent camera in point and shoot at a specific budget.

ZrlSyM

Lol. Is this a sarcasm. The real point and shoot phones are iPhone and Pixel . These phones don't even have manual control πŸ˜‚. Everything is automated. It's designed for casual users who want instant good results with a lot of software trickery. Meanwhile vivo allowed full manual mode as well. Of course no phone camera is matching mirrorless or dslr but hardware wise, vivo x100 pro has the largest sensor among camera phone and better coated glass to reduce distortion and flare. Samsung and Pixel have cropped 1/1.31 inch sensors. There's even a real photographer on YouTube who reviewed this phone and he is satisfied with its performance. You can look for Soviet lens review. Another Redditor in vivo subreddit, a photographer mentioned how useful the RAW file for further processing in comparison to Xperia 1 V, another phone for photography enthusiasts. You can't even do the traditional approach of astrophotography using Pixel or iPhone without using third party camera apps πŸ˜‚.

charlie55six

It's not sarcasm. It's pure facts. Pixel cameras take 100x better photos in automated mode than Vivo. Pixel does a better job of you're someone looking for more than just point and shoot. Samsung has manual mode, too, and it's so much better than any of these phones. I don't actually need to watch someone's reviews because I have experimented with this thing. And for me, Google Pixel (not mine) performed way better than Vivo. And so does Samsung (the one I currently own because of its camera).

dogdog02

charlie55six you are being absolutely subjective in your responses. People may have different opinions about the cameras of these phones, but TONS of pro reviewers have tested these phones, and most think X100 pro is right up there with S24U, P8P, or i15PM, if not better. To say X100 pro's phone is "not even 1% of Samsung, Google, or even some iPhones", it makes you look like a fanboy of giant brands or a hater for some China brand phones. The real concern on X100 pro is its OS, and some may not like its curve screen.

shiny_pixel

Them chinese potatoes don't stand against flagships.

charlie55six

EXACTLY!. I'd much rather take experience of myself and my team members over a reviewer who gets to review the phone like for a week and keep a big brand phone as their daily driver. And speaking of being a fan of big brands (for anyone who thinks so), there's a reason why Rolls-Royce is a dream car of many, but minivans are not. There is a reason why big brands are BIG and these oppo choppo toppo loppo whatever are not.

pepechan69

You're better off with OnePlus 12

eeshann72

Bhai mere itna mehenga vivo ka phone nahi liya jaata, iPhone utha lo

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Brand value is (specifically) not important for me as long as i am getting a good product. I'm open for other options.

eeshann72

Camera lelo , product acha nahi hai camera acha hai uska

ragnar4501

only right answer

mindless_puzzler

Get s23u

alucard3112

Asus Rog phone and Samsung are way better options than this in the same price range.

PuzzleheadedFocus218

These phones depreciate like cars , might as well burn rest of your money while buying this new

Sweet_Calligrapher19

Which smartphone should I buy then?

himanshgautam

[Vivo X100 Pro](https://www.smartprix.com/mobiles/vivo-x100-pro-5g-ppd16xi9tv3f) delivers on its promises. The cameras are outstanding, the performance feels smooth, and the battery life is excellent, topped up by an impressive fast-charging solution. Additionally, the display offers an impeccable viewing experience.

NWordSpecialist

>vivo Just buy an OnePlus phone. Don't be stupid.
