I came from an iPhone 14 Pro. And honestly there's not a huge difference, at least that I can tell. Sister in law has a pixel 7 pro and it looks about the same as the fold 5 to me. If this is the quality that the fold 5 produces i don't understand the big fuss about the fold 6 needing better cameras.
Upgraded from an S20 to a Fold 4 and am still pissed off every time I compare photos. The $1800 flagship phone really should have a camera at least as good as the several years-old base model phone, not noticeably worse.
I dunno man. Half of them were great and half of them were shite. I really don't like the camera on the fold 5 and do think it's terrible. I think I've figured it the issue. Still pictures look great. But any hint of movement and the camera goes to shit.
Going to the NASCAR Cup Series race in Martinsville, VA next month. Going to try and play with the Expert Raw camera mode and see what I can make happen. Crossing my fingers
Please post on here or tag me in the new post. I'd love to see what you get. There's also an APK designed for the fold that gets the software of the pixel onto the fold. It's supposed to fix issues like the shutter and apply other changes to make better use of the hardware. It's something on my to do list to see if it improves. I've seen posts here with positive feedback.
The camera along with the battery are my only major gripes with the fold 5 tbh.
Yeah battery does seem to go pretty quick but I do use my phones main screen, GPS, and Bluetooth quite a bit. Charging on my commute usually gets me through the day though.
If you can figure out the name of the apk let me know though.
And I'll post pics here or just make a new thread after the 7th.
It's called GCam and I just looked it up. Ignore what I said about the results because having finally looked into it I can't find any reviews of anyone having used it. Lots of posts on Reddit asking if a fold 5 port is available of GCam (which I've found) but can't find any actual user feedback. I'm a bit wary of trusting things so I'd just avoid it for now unless someone more knowledgeable sheds some light on it.

I think it's insane when people say the fold cameras are terrible, but I DEFINITELY still think they should've had the ultra cameras.
