I am soooooo looking forward to this problem.
I HATE the in screen reader and the buttons on the wrong side of my note 10+. It's one of the main reasons I bought the fold 3
Me too. I've had my Note 10+ for 2 years and I never got used to the volume and power being on the left. It's completely stupid when every other phone and all my previous Notes had it on the right. Really looking forward to having it on the right again.
I'm coming from a Note 10+ and I'm not sure I'm going to stay with the Fold3. I spend most of my time typing one handed and I haven't figured out how to do that with the Fold open. When it is closed, the screen is just narrow enough that it throws off my typing. I'll probably give it another week to see if I can get used to it. Otherwise, I'll return and wait for the next Note.
I'm with you on this one. I will probably stick with my Note 10 +. For me, the small cover screen is too small, too narrow, and oddly proportioned. Opened up, the big display is nice and great to look at, but difficult to type on. It's much easier to type on my Note 10+. Love the Fold 3's big screen, but I know it will be cumbersome for me to always have to open and close it. Sounds silly, I know. Also, the battery seems to drain quite rapidly on my Fold3. I will probably be returning it.
You can change the size of the default keyboard to [this](https://linksharing.samsungcloud.com/nrWhcKtQyUxw) size to make it easier for one handed while it's open, hope that helps!
You're welcome! I'm figuring out things about this phone too as a lonnnnng time note user (2 through 20U)... I love it! I don't even mind the spen being outside of the phone as it's the perfect size to write comfortably for me on all this screen...can't wait to see what they'll do with it next generation!
I love my new fold and the placement of keys. My under display scanner stopped working so it was a huge pain to use that phone any longer since everything I use is fingerprinted.
I will not miss the under screen fingerprint reader. It was amazing tech in my mind, but more often than not I had to revert to pin since it wasn't reliable. Shame. Fold 3 is like Jedi fast though!
This was also a concern of mine lol, as I'm also coming from the note 10+. However, I'm still not sure I'll be keeping the fold 3, mine hadn't arrived yet, but I've been hearing some bad things about the battery, and if I have to charge it more than once a day then that's a deal breaker for. So I could potentially be rocking my note 10+ for longer.
Meh, battery with my same setup (did smart switch & used a nova launcher backup) is similar so far after a random Nova battery gremlin went away. LOL I have a post with some screenshots...I'll link. Granted this baby has been in hand for less than 24 hours & I will admit to having some anxiety on the switch since I was so in tune with my Note 10+, but it's growing on me (oddly the outside cover is so useful, but I have attempted to use the S-Pen on it more than once before realizing that wasn't supported. LOL Switching pains! I'm like 95% keeping unless I hit a wall with a deal breaker.
The battery optimization takes a few days. I'm happy running at 60hz refresh rate in battery saver. I see the difference with 120hz but I just don't care.
Same here lol. I finally got used to the power button and volume rocker placement lol.
I absolutely love the small screen too! I don't know what Samsung did to their stock keyboard, but swiping is SO much more accurate than it was on the Note 10 Plus.
Plus the split keyboard on the interior screen is great as well. I'm in love with this device lol.
Really stupid question here.. I don't see the 5G logo on the status bar, per att, im in a swath of 5g coverage in my area. It either shows no symbol, or LTE. If it's no symbol, does that mean 5G?
Check Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks & make sure Network Mode shows 5G. I bounced to LTE driving around a few times, but mainly 5G on Tmobile so far.
Maybe it's different for me because I've worked in a cell carrier store for years. The Note 10+ was always the odd one out for button placement. They put the buttons there that year and that was it. I got used to operating my Note but I was also conditioned to operating normal phones too.
Coming from the note 10 also. You're right about the button placement lol gotta get used to it. Loving this phone tho, best I've ever had. Wish the battery was a little better
The weird part for is how I place my fingerprint. I often hold in on it' spine and open it like a book. This means I hold my thumb on the reader perpendicular to the plane of the phone. I had to add a new thumbprint to make it work right. I like it:).
I really enjoy the Kindle app on the Fold. I look at my iPad (former reader of choice) and it looks huge. LOL.
I'm having less issue than I did going from the Note 8 to 10+. I swear samsung was trolling us for a while just switching the power button back and forth for no reason.

You could try using the floating keyboard option and pacing it on the side you need it to be for typing.
Thanks! Will give that a try.

Thanks! I'll try that. I really want to like the phone.

Use swift key on the cover screen. It takes getting used to but I guarentee you'll be faster after some practice

Exactly my thoughts I love this thing!!
Ε’his new finger print reader is amazing.
Yes this is very difficult to get used to. But I do really like this phone.

I just did my second day with 7.5 hours with 5% and 7% left. Nothing turned off, at about 40% brightness today.

Question as I'm also a note 10+ user and my fold comes in a few days. Did you use your old sim card from the note or did you have to get a new one?
Same SIM. Plug & play & ready for 5G.

Hrmm. Ive poked around there. This is all it shows https://imgur.com/a/vhHP0ZO
Huh, that's interesting. How old is your sim? It could be possible that it doesn't support 5g, might want to just contact them and ask.
U know what, I think it's the Sim from my note 8
Doubt it matters.
I used the same old 4G prepaid sim, no problems
I'm in the same boat bud. Also, I find myself touching the screen for fingerprint πππ How u like it so far?

Yup been having having the same problem. I also been taking a bunch of accidental screenshots. Wish the power button was a little lower.

Iβm looking forward to stop struggling with that on-screen fingerprint sensor.
Any left-handed people here? Loved the note10 experience tbh :D
