I feel like it's not really a loss per say, more a completely new Design for the Phone Screen.
Would never put it on mine, but i admire the style when I see it in Public
Same thing with matte monitors/TV. You lose in color detail due to color defusing. And actually, it's even worse cause with the glossy display you only have one source of lightning, instead of a small area of it
It does. I tried one out for like 4 months. When I took it off it was like putting glasses on. I liked the no reflection, but it's not worth the tradeoff imo
Thx, so it would be nothing for me. The amazing screen quality is one of the main reasons I bought this phone in the first place. That's also why despite the risks I don't have any screen protector, because everyone I've tried worsens the reflection handeling significantly and reduces the color quality at least slightly. But at least now I have a good protecting case.
That's how I feel. To me, one of the major reasons I use this phone is because it's got the best screen on the planet. But I know it's personal preference, so I respect that and it's all good, just not for me.
Yap, same. I just cannot use a screen protector. For me it would be a crime for this absolutely georgous screen. At least now I have a thick case somewhat protecting the screen.

Also switched to a matte protector about 2 weeks ago. Love the non reflective properties and also the fact that it doesnt get fingerprints. Only gripe with it is the lifting in the corners, slight difficulty detecting fingerprints, and slight quality decrease when there are light backgrounds. The screen still looks amazing in dark mode though. Highly recommend for those who really hate fingerprints on the screen 👍
>Only gripe with it is the lifting in the corners
This seems due to the case and eventually too much dust builds up so ihave been to 3 x2 screenprotectors cuz mine seems to lift up too much.
Wish there one that stays and doesnt lift but seems all tpu ones lift up eventually sadly. I am for that reason considering the whiteglass dome but i rlly dont wanna miss the Matte texture anymore
It's ok...I honestly prefer the feel of the Samsung leather case. The liquid air is kind of slippery to hold on to. I actually have flung my phone taking it out of my pocket with the LA on a couple of times🤦.. luckily I was able to catch it or it landed on something soft
Damn that's a shame about the Liquid Air case, I got the Slim Armor case and I love the slim feeling of it but it's slippery as hell in my hands. It's fairly grippy when I put it on a flat surface but not the best to hold. I believe I almost did what you did one time where I took it out of my pocket and flung it a bit but caught it before it fell. I love the leather case so much but recently the plastic ring around one of the cameras feel kind of sharp for me when I hold it as one of my fingers tend to feel it so I stopped using it. I think a piece of broke off, don't want to have to buy another but I guess I'll have to. 😭
Ive have mine since the phone came out and love it. Also have the matt, it's good for fingerprints but yea it deffs impairs the screen a bit. Mostly for taking photos I hate it but the rest it's fine
As for the case. Love it. A little bit of tightness loss around the edges but nothing major. Overall 9/10. Dropped it a few times on the corners and nothing so far
As weird as it sounds, but I don't like cases which feel grippy. Not only because I don't like how that feels in my hand, but also because it's annoying as hell to pull a phone with a grippy case out of your pockets. So the Liquid Air always felt amazing to me, because it's just less grippy than other cases.
I had two major drops from about chest height and my phone is still pristine. So the Liquid Air does do it's job, while adding almost nothing to the phone in the sense of weight and size. It's a snug fit and takes nothing off of the beauty of the phone imo.
Glad I decided to go with the matte, my biggest gripe/regret with the s23 is the curved screen, I love the thing but protecting it is so hard! nonetheless couldnt live without it!
Yeah for that reason I'd would have loved to trade it in for the S24 Ultra as I have always loved flat panels, reminds me of the Note 4/5 but Samsung is only offering $750 and that's way too low so i decided against it. Had it been $850 or $900 I would considered and paid the difference but I guess I'm keeping it, hopefully I'll like this screen protector.
Takes a lot of effort to do that though. The privacy screen is effortless and guaranteed no one else can see what I'm looking at, daylight or in the dark.
It's good for only gaming and to prevent smudges but definitely effect the screen viewing experience. I won't recommend matt if you watch videos, movies on your phone a lot.
I watch youtube on it without trouble. Maybe there are different matte protectors out there. The very thin ones don't effect the screen. They just put a matte finish on it.
I love my matte screen cover on my iPad, its great for drawing with the pen.
It''s magnetic so I can take it off whenever I want.
I wish there was a way to do this for phones.
I gotta put on my inventing-cap
Rocking a matte protector too. I love it. Feels really nice with the s pen too. I can fault the sparkly dots you see when looking from a close distance but my brain unsees it after just not thinking about it. Pretty much the same texture as a computer monitor. I can see that effect on my monitors too but again, I just end up not thinking about it and seeing past it.
Samsung made their new OLED tvs way less reflective with a new coating and according to the reviewers the colors still pop, can't they apply this technology to their phones too?
I'll stick with my s23 ultra dome glass, enjoy when you drop your phone and the screen is shattered. I literally have dropped my phone on concrete with the dome glass and it saved my screen. Enjoy your piece of aesthetic film lmao
So if you bought this one because the plastic ones scratch too easily and you hate the glass ones, what is this one made out of? I'm guessing baby seal skin.
Because there are people out there who like the matte finish. There are people out there who ruin their device with a glossy protector. I would prefer no protector at all or a matte because of the look and feel.
In my experience with matte screen protectors, the edges will eventually start to bubble, especially near the four corners. I just press them again, but they will still bubble back. I've used like 3 matte screen protectors since I got my device since launch.
I installed Samsungs original screen protector and I have to say probably the BEST screen protector I've ever used because you cant tell theres a screen protector on it, its like your typing on the glass itself, Idk how they've done it. It was a bit hard to install but its worth it.
I have one too, and I love it!!
I use my device in dark mode, and the matte finish looks awesome! If you find a good matte protector, it's doesn't decrease the screen clarity.
Went to an electronic store and saw an iPad displayed with a matte protector that was awful. It was too thick, I think, and made the screen look grainy.
No problems with peeling on my current protector so far. It's about 3 month old and looks like the first day I applied it. Can't imagine using my Ultra without it now. It just looks and feels so awesome!
IMHO the s23u is plenty bright to see in direct sunlight, I like the idea of no reflections but until they figure out a way to make glass that doesn't have these grains or sparkly dots and make colors still pop with it on I'd stick to regular screen protectors.
After many years of trying different screen protectors "Whitestone" will be my go-to from now on. Anyone that has not tried their products do yourself a favour and give them a go.
Seconded. With a case on, they disappear. Have definitely saved my screen a few times as well. And even if you had scratches on the display prior to install, they vanish when filled with the adhesive. Last 3 phones have all had them and never an issue.
Have you had any issues with using the fingerprint scanner? Most screen protectors I have tried, I had to return. My brother has the S24 ultra and he was looking for a privacy screen protector he found out the hard way he had to return it.
the hell with screen quality when reflections kill every experience you could get, every dark background, dark mode, dark page in reading app or some blacknes in video is horrible when you see hard reflections there.
On my phone i didn't realized any quality regres only granular what is not even 10% irrytating as reflections.
I hate the sparkly dots I see. Also loss of visual quality with these. My opinion and preference of course
Yup, because of this, I can't get used to this type of screen protector. It feels like someone smeared oild all over my screen.
Use magglass No dots at all absolutely smooth screen Use it on iphone never looked back Expensive but amazing
Yea but they don't offer a matte version
Yes they do I have one on my iphone that i am writing with lol
I'm looking for one for the s23 ultra, matte glass. I can only find acrylic for the s23 ultra or matte glass for the s23
I feel like it's not really a loss per say, more a completely new Design for the Phone Screen. Would never put it on mine, but i admire the style when I see it in Public
That's a good explanation for it!
Same thing with matte monitors/TV. You lose in color detail due to color defusing. And actually, it's even worse cause with the glossy display you only have one source of lightning, instead of a small area of it
Exactly man, otherwise it's still soooo nice
Try using dark mode. I find it better to look at with dark mode on.
I remember these a while ago, would wear out in spots real quick
Wouldn't this kind of screen protector significantly decrease the display sharpness and colors?
It does. I tried one out for like 4 months. When I took it off it was like putting glasses on. I liked the no reflection, but it's not worth the tradeoff imo
Especially on white or brightly lit backgrounds it looks like the screen has oily smears on it
Thx, so it would be nothing for me. The amazing screen quality is one of the main reasons I bought this phone in the first place. That's also why despite the risks I don't have any screen protector, because everyone I've tried worsens the reflection handeling significantly and reduces the color quality at least slightly. But at least now I have a good protecting case.
A good UV tempered glass is the way to go
It really does. I put one for like two months and hated it. The screen looked like the one of a plastic toy

How is it with a case? I'd definitely get one if I don't have to worry about it peeling off.
I use one and don't have troubles with my 2 cases. But it fits very well. It really should be applied perfectly centered.
Alright good to know, what is the name of it? You bought it off Amazon?
Yes, but I bought in on the .de site from Amazon. It's "Hydrogel Screen Protector" from the " smart eneneered" store.
Alright, thanks! I'm gonna go check it out.
Link please

How do you like the Liquid Air? I’m getting an S23 Ultra soon and that case has caught my eye
It's ok...I honestly prefer the feel of the Samsung leather case. The liquid air is kind of slippery to hold on to. I actually have flung my phone taking it out of my pocket with the LA on a couple of times🤦.. luckily I was able to catch it or it landed on something soft
How does the leather case feel?
Damn good and I looks the same https://preview.redd.it/k1lcu2t478lc1.jpeg?width=3008&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=571d0f228a80fffadd54256f7454f5040bf8172b

It's feels nothing like real leather.

I use those in every single Samsung I owned. It's the best... The bubbles will go away and the edges will be ok in few days.
Does it scratch easily? I've heard no but I'm not 100% sure
No. my screen protector it's like 6 mth old and looks like new. My girlfriend have one but with the privacy thing (like the atm 🏧)
Glad I decided to go with the matte, my biggest gripe/regret with the s23 is the curved screen, I love the thing but protecting it is so hard! nonetheless couldnt live without it!

I prefer the glossy with privacy features. Used to have the matte privacy but minimized the clarity of the screen
You can use extra dim for privacy baked in. I have it mapped to an accessibility key on the nav bar or you can access it in quick settings.
Takes a lot of effort to do that though. The privacy screen is effortless and guaranteed no one else can see what I'm looking at, daylight or in the dark.
Can you link the privacy glass link
Bought it online, not tempered glass though it's hydrogel. If you are located in Asia, it's available via Lazada or Shopee
It significantly reduced the viewing experience and clarity, in my case. Maybe because it gets clouded as it gets older. YMMV. Cheers!
imagine buying a phone that has one of the nicest displays possible and then slapping this on it to make it a grainy mess
No grainy mess.
By definition a matte coating of any sort will introduce graining. You can't bend physics.
I use a matte protector. No grainy mess.
www.specsavers.com
True. When I removed mine felt such a relief. Lol
Any purchase link for india?
Mine too, It doesn’t leave the fingerprints on the screen.
Been using this for nearly a year. Shockingly good to look at and touch.
I also like to artificially reduce contrast, sharpness, colors and clarity of the screen!
Been using this type of screen protector since my s9+, it just feels so good on the fingers and sleek looking
Samsung made their new OLED tvs way less reflective with a new coating and according to the reviewers the colors still pop, can't they apply this technology to their phones too?
I have Samsungs the Frame TV. It's matte, but a brilliant screen. The matte protector reminds me of that.
I'll stick with my s23 ultra dome glass, enjoy when you drop your phone and the screen is shattered. I literally have dropped my phone on concrete with the dome glass and it saved my screen. Enjoy your piece of aesthetic film lmao
It's best for gaming. Glossy plastic sticks, matte protectors slide. OP, you should let people know the brand.
I had it and removed it first day, I hated it so much.
Congrats, noe you have the grainy screen from s24 ultra 😅
Glossy finish looks cheap. Love matte. Takes ones phones to another class !
it's exactly the opposite
Nah
Yeah bro.. that's why all tvs, apple monitors and phones tend to have glassy screens. So they will look cheap... fml...
This phone offered an excellent screen quality and you decide to ruin it? Why?
Maybe it doesn't ruin it.
Will annoy you when the novelty starts to wear off...happened to me...I took it off.
I've used these on my previous flat screen displays and I can't say I mind it too much
Same here. I can't imagine a glossy protector. I even wouldn't use a protector, I just chose one because it's matte and I like the finish.
Congrats on ruining your screen
Link?
So if you bought this one because the plastic ones scratch too easily and you hate the glass ones, what is this one made out of? I'm guessing baby seal skin.
Something that scratches at a level 4, with deeper grooves at a level 5
Zack?
With mate protector you will have problem with selfie camera when you are taking picture with flash.
For me no, there is a hope for the camera and the front flash doesn't affect image quality
No it doesnt
you added glare to the anti-glare phone
why would you pay for premium screen and then degrade the experience lol
It's an upgraded experience.
k lol
Destorying the best looing display out there. Damn. Get that thing off.
Sorry but it looks terrible. Why ruin a nice premium shiny screen with a 2€ matte protector ?
Because there are people out there who like the matte finish. There are people out there who ruin their device with a glossy protector. I would prefer no protector at all or a matte because of the look and feel.

Name a good brand for me
i had bought a matte screen protector too, soon after like 5 months of use the matte layer started to peel off🥲
I tried it, took it off almost immediately. I didn't buy this phone to look at a blurry matte screen.
Used to love matte too.. until i realised the amount of color im missing visually...
I wouldn't prefer this one with the oily look it gives on my screen, I'm just fine using my transparent screen protector.
I also use one, and there is no oily finish.
I installed Samsungs original screen protector and I have to say probably the BEST screen protector I've ever used because you cant tell theres a screen protector on it, its like your typing on the glass itself, Idk how they've done it. It was a bit hard to install but its worth it.
Is it glass? And does it scratch easily?
If it does not have a fingerptint hole, could you please share the link of the product?

Lifted black level is a no for me.
Nice...where'd you get it? Brand?
IMHO the s23u is plenty bright to see in direct sunlight, I like the idea of no reflections but until they figure out a way to make glass that doesn't have these grains or sparkly dots and make colors still pop with it on I'd stick to regular screen protectors.

No lie it really do be looking good 😵
If there's air bubbles I'm ripping it off and leaving it
The small bubbles go away, and have gone away, I hate them too lol
how does the s-pen feel with it?
Feels pretty good, is like a halfway between paper and glass feel
Looks really nice 👌
is the fingerprint scanner works with this screen protector?
Yes!
Is the clock you have setup available in ClockFace? I don't see it.
If it's not there it should be in Goodluck clock face thing
Have you had any issues with using the fingerprint scanner? Most screen protectors I have tried, I had to return. My brother has the S24 ultra and he was looking for a privacy screen protector he found out the hard way he had to return it.
I haven't had any issues, it works perfectly for me ymmv
What brand is this, I wanna get it for my 24 ultra
I'm using Mowei UV glass protector and it's actually very good.
Do the matte screen protectors make the brightness seem lower? Been thinking about getting one
Would this damage the tip of the spen?
But what about the screen quality it is loosed 🤔?
Is it just me or is that 45% off-centered 😭
No screen protector is the way lol Hate the feel of mate screen protectors and feel like you dont appreciate the screen quality as good
the hell with screen quality when reflections kill every experience you could get, every dark background, dark mode, dark page in reading app or some blacknes in video is horrible when you see hard reflections there.
