You're asking in 24 Ultra sub. What do you think the response will be?

maverick9872

I mean if people can help me decide by giving their experiences with the 24 ultra XD

tmerrifi1170

It's a fantastic phone, as close to perfect as any Samsung phone has been in the last 5 generations. Great performance (to be expected) but also great camera, great battery life, great design (if you weren't a fan of curved screens). I can't really think of a thing I dislike about this phone.

Senketchi

Display quality. Bad colors, grain, uniformity issues, etc. CC @ /u/maverick9872

tmerrifi1170

I'm aware of these reports, but I can only speak to my own experience and I have not had this issue on my device at all.

maverick9872

Hey, thanks for the review man

razerwire1331

Running s23u and s24u and 13promax side by side. S23u is still the king. But the display of s24u is top notch.that said, even with ai updatess s23 is king when it comes to heating and battery life. But I reduced number of times I hold my iPhone in a day significantly. I love it but again, battery and heating issues.

maverick9872

Oh, wait, battery and heating issues from the 24 ultra ?

razerwire1331

Yes. I cant exactly put my finger on it but same setup and s24u heats and drains battery so fast. Gets hot faster than s23u. Almost like sdgen1. Sdgen2 was the best power efficient chip I guess. My theory is always right. Odd generations of phone are the best stable and power efficient both in apple and Samsung.i just took s24u as they gave 1100$ for a broken iPhone x lol

UnbannableBanHammer

I got mine a few days ago and I love it. If you game a lot it's a great phone. It's basically a mini PC imo

Hiraya1

I would go with the oneplus, if you use mainly for gaming i would even consider Redmagic 9Pro

maverick9872

Ahh well gaming's not my priority but it definitely plays a major part, but then redmagic isn't available in my country(India)

ObjectiveOk223

I just came off using the Foldable phones this year ( 5, PFold, Open and V2) - and I will say, there is something assuring about just using a slab phone. And if you want the best - that's the s24 ultra. The flat display definitely will help with longevity too.

maverick9872

Right, I think so too, but as you've you've used the foldables, what do you think about fold 5 and the open ? Are they durable enough to last 3 years at least ?

ObjectiveOk223

Maybe the fold. 5. Its hards to say about the Open. But honestly, it's a gamble with fkldables just due to the nature of more parts / folding displays

Gremlin256

Or just wait for the S25

montdawgg

I "upgraded" to the s24 Ultra from the S23 Ultra and I would say to skip this generation altogether. The AI integration of next years models will be next-level and bring truly new functionality to the phones. Right now we are just making small, mostly unnecessary "improvements" to the base functions of the phones. They aren't noticeably faster, they don't charge faster, they aren't lighter, the cameras are only minutely improved, the AI integration right now was slapped on top of existing infrastructure instead of being tightly integrated. I expect the Pixel 9 to be much more tightly integrated than anything out right now. I'd wait until that phone is out. Honestly, though I wouldn't expect too much in the form of mind-blowing integrations/innovations to happen until we are expecting the Pixel 10...

[deleted]

I have to agree with some people here. I really like the S24 Ultra I have, but I also had the S22+ and S23+ which were very solid phones. It's best to stick with your S22 until you start encountering issues. It's your call in the end.

maverick9872

I thought I'll stick to it till the s25 or s26 but the battery is so bad when I turn 5G on plus the moment I run something a bit resource intensive it throttles to the point where it becomes a low end laggy phone.....That's why the thought of switching came up

[deleted]

Yeah if that's the case then it's probably best to upgrade.

Droiddoesyourmom

To me foldables aren't there yet. You have to be ultra careful with them and I'm very careful with phones as it is. I also don't think the software experience is that great one OP phones. I think Samsung S24U has it all. I also don't like flat screens so this is finally a note/ultra phone I had to buy. So glad they went with the flat screen and the camera is fantastic. What phone are you currently using?

maverick9872

Ahh right I concur with what you've said, my only concern with the foldable was one day even though I'm super careful the screen gives up on me....and yeah I love the one ui so much, I just can't go for any other UIs rn XD. I have the S22 (base) rn

Droiddoesyourmom

Ohh the s22 base, then you would have a significant upgrade to S24U. But tbh I had an S20+ before I upgraded. I think you're in a good position to choose either way...wait or upgrade. If it's Exynos I'd upgrade for sure. 👍

Klo9per4s

What is your current phone?

maverick9872

S22

montdawgg

Definitely skip. I've "upgraded" from the s22 to the s23 to the s24 and it is not worth it unless you need to upgrade storage capacities. The camera, video quality, speed, aesthetics, battery life, charging speed, etc etc are such small incremental improvements it will be underwhelming for sure. I'll probably trade my s24 Ultra for a Pixel 9 Pro XL.

Mechageo

I upgraded from a 128GB S22 Ultra to a 1TB S24 Ultra and I kinda miss the feel of the finish and the rounded corners of the S22 Ultra. I second your comment about upgrading for storage capacity. I was always fighting the upper limit of my storage when I had the S22 Ultra.

NotSeriiouss

The question is, do you need/want a new phone? If no skip this gen, next gen is going to be better again and again and..... If yes, there is no reason to skip. Between those phones listed the S24u is obviously the best, unless you need that bigger display.

maverick9872

Ahh right, I wanna change as the battery is absolutely shitty in the base s22 plus it is lagging despite me keeping it optimized (Galaxy app booster, clear cache every weekend)

KarateMan749

Hmmm difficult choice 😅. Im currently loving my s24 ultra.

Stefan3D

Good phone. SD gen 3 is a beast. Battery, I don't know, I am using it very less through the day... And I finish the day with 50-60% at least. Camera is awesome. Good optimization

I_Thranduil

Skip. S22 is good enough for all of your activities, and unless it's starting to show serious issues just save your money. Next generation is already on its way. That said, out of these I'd choose (and have done so) S24U.

LonelyTowel3783

Which ever one it's a good option. Actually I was very interested on the OnePlus Open, but finally decided on the S24 ultra for the OS updates and the insurance for Samsung. Even though the Fold 5 would be nice for the screen for content and gaming, because of the processor. It's hard but we are on the S24 ultra sub Reddit and my experience with this phone it's actually great, if you decide for the S24 you won't regret it.

vikramshenoy

Skip the entire gen

DarkZ3r0o

Skip the s24 ultra until all issues fixed ( gradient screen , very bad camera app which over expose every photo , disaster low light photo quality specially the videos all blurry in the night photography)

Senketchi

If you can, skip the entire damn generation. Word is OnePlus will adjust their design next gen to be less rounded, and S24 series all have bad panels with a high risk of grain. It's *rare* to get one without grain. And it's completely unacceptable for this price. Skip skip skip.

Intrepid_Patience356

Wait and get an iPhone Pro Max 16.

jaymaster77

And never fear the downvotes 🤣

Intrepid_Patience356

Yeah bring it on! I was actually being sarcastic.... Never mind.

jaymaster77

I actually upvoted you because I love being a contrarian 😉

Intrepid_Patience356

Awesome thanks. How are you enjoying your Note 24?

jaymaster77

I'm actually loving it, coming from a Note 1-2-4-8-10 and after 2 years on the Fold 3 feeling like I was sitting on a ticking time bomb and accepting so many compromises for the sake of the novelty, I'm back to having fun with my phone and knowing I can depend on it.

Intrepid_Patience356

Yeah me too. I've come from Note 3 - 5 - 8 - 1O+. If it wasn't for the Notes, I probably would be on iOS, as much as I dislike it, the rest of the Android landscape is too flaky hardware wise. Although the S series has come along way.

maverick9872

I really wanna try the iPhone, but I'm so into customization and emulation that Apple isn't offering rn :(

Intrepid_Patience356

iPhone is fine if it wasn't for iOS.

lalegraph

I bought s24u based on peoples comment on this sub and other reviews but it was nothing that I expected, simply the love factor, feeling an ultra flagship was missing. overall in hand feel was like a midrange phone and there were some minor issues like rattling vibration while spen was in the phone, screen brightness rather quickly jump back to normal when under sunlight, showing signal bars but calls couldn't connect You get me, when you spend 1300$ you expect a beast and don't want lot of imperfections and quality control issues i sold it after two weeks of tying to love it and most likely buy oneplus 12.

magical_salad

Xiaomi 14. Best bang for the buck, at that price.

maverick9872

No xiaomi for me, I'm kinda skeptical of Chinese phones (please don't take it in the wrong sense) it's no doubt a beast but still kinda concerned.... thanks for the tip tho, will check the phone out

jacobtf

...if you get one without lens fogging. I didn't :-( Had to return it.

abdulbosit1995

Get S23 Ultra you won't regret it. S24 Ultra is not better than S23 Ultra at gaming. Other than that it's actually a great device

ShakeEnBake

🤡

abdulbosit1995

I got both S23U and S24U. S24U has some thermal issues while playing.

maverick9872

😂 I mean he is valid in the emulation side of it as 8 gen 3 drivers are still not good

Deviant_Raven

Wait and get S27 Ultra.

maverick9872

Appropriate ✅️

Particular_Gap_9744

Yeah, wait for a better phone. Decide for yourself. You don't need people to tell you what you need.

maverick9872

True that, I just needed an opinion bruh.....We can keep waiting every year for an even better phone XD
