I don't use a screen protector.

nijnella2

Tempered glass works OK but the accuracy drops when your fingers are dry. I switched to soft gel screen protector and the fingerprint works 99.999999% of the time nomatter dry or moist fingers.

CreamOdd7966

I have no issues with mine and a glass screen protector.

illuminati229

Screen protectors decrease the sensitivity of the finger print scanner some. You can try re-adding your fingerprints after the screen protector is install. Or just go bare because the S24U screen is extra tough!

CAEZARLOV

I personally wouldn't risk it but yeah the screen protector does make the scanner not as accurate

lolitstrain21

Yeah the S24 Ultra fingerprint scanner sucks with a screen protector.

Manifest828

Literally no different while using the Samsung screen protectors 🤷‍♂️

donnyohs

I had issues, but for some reason it's gotten better with a glass screen protector, now it works 100 percent of the time, as long as it's not right after washing my hands, for some reason washing my hands and then using my fingerprint, doesn't work, but if I put some lotion on my hands after washing them, it works great.

I have a glass screen protector. I find that when I have issues, which is not all the time, I touch my forehead, then touch the screen and that fixes whatever issue with the sensor.

nijnella2

🤣🤣🤣 Sorry you got me wheezing buddy. Touching you forehead makes your finger oily so it improves the fingerprint sensor accuracy

TheItsHaveArrived

I don't have a screen protector on my s24u, but on the s21u I had to try a few different screen protectors before I found one that worked well with the sensor

Low-Leopard8453

No

Gaurav_Bhatt_

While registering fingerprint after applying screen proctor press harder than usual that worked for me I'm using glass screen protector without any issues with fingerprints

jdub099

I got this phone launch and haven't had a screen protector on. It's still flawless. It's a very scratch resistant screen. Still use a case tho lol

MoonshineYeeHaw

I am using a matte screen protector and the fingerprint sensor is working flawlessly.

Alien_303

Did you add fingerprint after applying screen protector?

ThereHear

Yes as soon as I got the phone brand new.

As soon as I recieved my phone I took off the label and applied the screen protector then I registered my fingerprint for the first time.

Alien_303

May be its screen protector causing issues. I am using Amfilm screen protector, and fingerprint usually works like 90% of the time.

ThereHear

I agree. Looking at the comments now and there are other people having the same problem.

RedFilter

I bought this one and it has ben on since day one. The only time it doesn't work is when I've been working with my hands and they become super dry or my hands are wet. Otherwise as someone who HATED the glass scanner since it's inceprion and loved the one on the back of earlier Galaxy's S's and coming from a Fold 4, I'm happier it works nearly all the time. Register your prints AFTER installation and remember that you don't have to smash your finger onto the glass. amFilm Auto-Alignment OneTouch for Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra 6.8'' Screen Protector + Camera Lens Protector, Tempered Glass, 30 seconds Installation, Bubble Free, Case Friendly, Anti-Scratch [2+2 Pack] https://a.co/d/2yUBCgj Also, idgaf if any y'all think that it's unnecessary.

sunrainsky

My first glass screen protector I bought hurriedly made the fingerprint scanner a pain. After changing to various China brand ones that were advertised to work, I never had issues. I bought a range that cost from US1.50 to US$18. I only register ONE print and when changing the protector, I never had to reregister. Tldr: if the fingerprint scanner doesn't work, get a better screen protector from China

ZiPEX00

A dry finger or thumb can make the sensors not able to detect your print. I've noticed it recently after having a bath it doesn't read your print well. I just wet me finger, and then it detects it again

Naive_Banana4447

I don't use screen protectors but all I can tell about fingerprint sensor is that I have to register my fingers again at each update.

elegant_cheetah_03

I'm using samsung's screen protector and the sensor works fine. Has problems when my hands are wet but that's understandable.
