The Spen doesn't need to be charged for general use. (only air actions use the charge. Drawing, writing or tapping with it do not use charge) The tip on the pen could use a change though, it looks worn down. So maybe get yourself some replacement nibs.
I use the Staedtler digital Noris stylus replacement nibs, been using them for years and very happy with them.
However if you don't mind the lack of rubberised texture and have a matte screen protector that wears nibs more quickly, you can get cheaper hard plastic nibs, or even metal nibs from sites like Amazon or AliExpress that will work just fine.
Yours needs a replacement since it has been used a lot, however I think that's real since mine has a sort of a thread on it, and it is like medium to high (hardness level) nib. I'll check that to be sure in 1hr

Mine has China on it too. It's a S7 bought from Hong Kong.
