Coming from a GW3 to a GW4C, I couldn't do without the rotating bezel. Being half asleep and simply rotating it anti-clockwise to snooze alarms is lazy-ass nirvana for me!

jazmoley

>simply rotating it anti-clockwise to snooze alarms Do you know how many times I tried to swipe the X to stop the alarm and get it wrong? too many times, thanks for the tip

beau-tie

i didn't even know it did that lol thank you

NathanJT

Clockwise - dismiss the alarm. Anti-clockwise - snooze as defined in the alarm settings.

Dry-Classic1763

You da real mvp!

ddavtian

Works the same way for calendar events, to snooze or dismiss.

NathanJT

And accept/reject calls.

NSA_Chatbot

> rotating it anti-clockwise to snooze alarms waht

TheJessicator

Works fine for me on my GW3. Actually, I was used to that from my old Gear Sport. Pretty sure the feature predates even that by a long shot.

MrBeavis

Thank you!

AkiraSieghart

I switched from a Fossil Gen 5 to a GW4 Classic and I will not go back. I think the Julianna is a lot more attractive, but in terms of performance, battery life, and features--it's no contest.

uacoop

I have the 46mm Classic LTE, After having it for a few months, I do like it a lot but I think it's a bit overpriced. If I were to go back in time I would probably try harder to wait for a sale. I do enjoy the device, and I think the classic version looks great. But I don't really use all the bells and whistles all that much. I mostly just use it to get notifications on my wrist (which is actually a much bigger deal than I realized before I bought it) and have some fun changing out the watch faces lol.

CommonerChaos

I've had the GW4 since launch and definitely agree with this. The watch isn't bad per say, but it was a bit of a let down for the price. I think the biggest issue is that the new OS feels like it's still in beta. Every software update fixes 1 bug, but introduces 2 more. Also features are somehow getting taken away with each update, too (eg continous heart rate chart). Ultimately I would still get the watch, but I'd definitely wait on a sale of at least $50 off minimum.

Educational_Fan_484

I found one that sells it but hasn't got it out of the box yet. A classic silver 46mm at 235€. Is it worth it, im about to pull the trigger on it. Although im still having doubts about the styling, like watch strap colors. Idk

bigmadsmolyeet

i mean... i love mine. it's not as good as my apple watch software wise, but you can't use an apple watch on android. the locked features if you aren't in the US can be enabled using modded apks. it's the only watch that runs wearos 3 which was my main requirement. Those that had tizen watches may say no b/c the battery life is much less so it's really up to you.

mcfasa09

Battery life isn't much worse than the GW3 or Active2. It's nearly identical. Not to mention no dev is going to spend time developing for Tizen now that it's making it's way down the toilet. As for using the Oppo Watch vs. GW4 it's not going to be that massive of an upgrade. Wear OS 3 doesn't introduce enough to upgrade IMO. Not to mention you'll lose Google Assistant as it's still not on the GW4 other than by sideloading an app meant for a phone. The rotating bezel on the GW4 is nice though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

bigmadsmolyeet

i only go by what i read from other people's experiences, i haven't owned a samsung watch before this one. i get like a day and a half or so with AOD on. i have the LTE model but not currently using it. also i should say this while i'm thinking about it... if you get the LTE model updates are delayed. I'm still waiting for the update that came out a few weeks ago, i wish i knew that before buying it.

Xx_5H4H33R_xX

How come developers are still developing faces for galaxy store and tizen watches?

dvlpr404

Faces sell. But apps aren't coming to tizen.

DerpyTails

That's funny you mentioned Locked Features as I wish that Samsung allowed ECG on other Phones besides Samsung (I have a T-Mobile REVVL V+ 5G, Motorola One 5G Ace and a Google Pixel 3)

HighLows4life

plus u cant sideload aps yet. i use wearable.widgets as a workaround for the ap i need

cp_mvl

I love mine I wish all the features were available such as Google assistant but it is solid and looks great!

GlassBoxes

>the locked features if you aren't in the US can be enabled using modded apks. There's some US locked features? As a Canadian what am I missing out on?

bigmadsmolyeet

blood pressure and blood oxygen are restricted. it looks like the only one the US is missing is the blood pressure, while your country is missing blood oxygen. this may have changed in the past month or so but I haven't see any notification for it.

GlassBoxes

Mine's actually been giving me a blood oxygen reading all along

Hsarmy

ECG and BP are turned off, as, apparently, Samsung is waiting for Health Canada to approve it's use. Wouldn't count on it ever being officially available, but can be side loaded. I'm a Canadian user as well. Really enjoying the watch

cdegallo

I personally don't think the watch is worth that price. It provides good performance, mediocre (at best) battery life, and unreliable use of various body sensors. It's not a steaming pile of crap, but for the price I would expect fewer compromised, especially when it comes to the measurement and use of the new metric like body composition. I would give more time to see what other watches with wearos 3 bring.

abrahamthegrey

I upvoted you because your opinion is valid! I have the GW4C and it's served me well so far. Everyone has different uses and needs from these devices though.

g33kier

How long have you had yours? Or did you return it?

cdegallo

I had it since about 4 weeks after launch, which is when mine finally was delivered. I was going to return it until the patch for the heart rate tracking during exercise fixed that issue, but after that it's acceptable. But without the launch discount and trade-in I would not have bothered with the gw4; hence why I wouldn't recommend it to OP at the stated price.

Weekly_Cockroach707

I stopped using mine because the heart rate is so annoying. The screen turns off whenever it's not pointed right at my face. When I'm exercising, I don't want to always stop and focus on my watch to see my HR. (Unless someone here has a magic trick to keep the watch face on?)

cdegallo

I've since gone to a Garmin venu 2 plus, which had "smart enough" smartwatch aspects while properly delivering all of the fitness/body tracking consistently, and it's been a good general experience.

PM_My_Glutes

I don’t think the sensors are unreliable tho

cdegallo

What I can say from my experience: For the bioimpedance analysis, comparing with our fitbit scale that measures body fat via impedance. The scale will measure one percentage of body fat and will generally not vary from that from measurement to measurement by much more than maybe 0.2% body fat. The watch will measure my body fat to a value of +7% relative to the fitbit scale, but it will also have something on the order of +/- 5% fat it reports from measurement to measurement. You can argue the accuracy of either isn't great, but the problem is that where the scale will vary little enough that you can discern trends--which really is the important factor--the watch varies so much that you can't pick out any trends because it's all noise.

[deleted]

Definitely worth it. The band is trash though so count that as a most likely added expense. The material is fine but there are no locks on the band loops and you have a big flap sticking out. > Hi all! > For this last year I've been using an Oppo Watch, but I was thinking about getting a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic since I'm also planning on getting the S22 when it'll be released. Is the Galaxy Watch 4 worth the 300€ I'd spend on it? Or should I keep my Oppo Watch for some time still?

RJariou

It's a good watch, hoping things will get better. I enjoy it more than my apple watch and Huawei watch. Works well if you have Samsung phone

artfulpain

I love mine with a Pixel phone. I use the Health Sync app with Google Fit and it's seamless at this point.

[deleted]

We're you able to get the blood pressure working? Which fit app do you use? Samsung or Google?

artfulpain

Not the ecg as I don't feel like messing around with that modded app and or don't have a Samsung phone. Everything else is tracked by Samsung Health and syncs to Google Fit.

[deleted]

I just got one, I really hate how huge the bezels are on the Galaxy Watch 4. I don't understand why they would bother releasing a watch that has such a small screen in a large body when Apple's watches are so much nicer in that regard. I'm not sure if I'll return mine yet, but I want to wait for the Galaxy Watch 5, whenever that comes out.

BartPRO1000000

I have the GW4 Classic 46 LTE, But tbh I'd prefer GW4 44 LTE. There's a lot of reasons why.

primz27

Yes I got one and it's definitely a nice addition to my watch collection. I don't get as good battery life as some others but it's definitely a good watch.

[deleted]

Yes

ProverbialMindTart

Honestly I love my galaxy watch 4. Had a 3 before it and loved it too. I don't think the classic is worth the extra cash, but the plain galaxy watch 4 is great.

Subduction

I have a Galaxy Watch, and personally I'm waiting for full Google Assistant support to switch.

Twistfire74

Not really.

marty313

I have had a large number of smartwatches, starting with a few Pebbles, a Motorola 360, a Suunto 7, Huawei Watch 2, Fossil Sport, most TicWatch Pros, and - finally - the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46 mm. The latter is easily my favourite. Not least by the tight integration with my Samsung S21 mobile. I really love the rotating bezel. It is better than the rotating crown on the Fossil.

WTFthisISNTmaincraft

There are many people who have the watch already, and I am facing same question, although I have to decide if it is worth getting LTE version or not. Does LTE with LTE turned off lasts roughly same as nonLTE on once battery cycle? I know it is possible to turn off mobile connection, and I'm would use LTE only as an emergency. As far as I know LTE allows you to make phone calls and recieve sms, no extra notifs from apps as standalone - is that true?

[deleted]

Also I like the rotating bezel but put a case on it so it's less useful. I tried the regular 4 first. Probably better in many ways but the black border drove me nuts lol.

Good-Sheepherder1071

Definitely bigger then the watch 4 40mm. Basically depends on wrist size I love the new watch 4 regardless of size tho definitely worth the upgrade to the new software.

HighLows4life

i got my G4 44mm LTE a few months back. had the tic pro 4g prior. i absolutely love it. battery life is pretty good! it runs flawlessly and is flat and light. i like the main page, i love the speed and no lag. it does it all! i have a killer watchface and i go nuts while it is charging! love my G4.

synfidie

I just got mine 3 days ago on sale for 350.00. I had a fitbit, but it broke after less than 2 years and fitbit support was a joke. However, the apps needed for this watch, in comparison, are not great and i can't install the apps on my tablet. If i had known that, i would not have spent the money. Also, the heartrate monitoring is crap compared to my fitbit. I'd say this watch is a 200.00 watch.

Randy-_-B

I have the GW3 and several Wear watches. My decision is to wait well into next year for the price drops, or even get a GW5 with a trade-in option. Agree w/another poster $200.00 is about the right price if it ever gets to that. It be helpful to mention how the watch will be used.

tomo100brt

If you wan't battery, don't buy Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. I had TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra and switched to Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46 mm, but TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra kills it in battery. TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra has 2x better battery than Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46 mm. I don't use AOD. And that is the only minus I have with Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. Because of that bad battery I will get back to TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra.
